I've always wanted to do this and I'm finally going to do it. Hopefully this thread will keep me accountable. It's not really a challenge thread just a goal to try to accomplish this in around 3 months. I'll try to accomplish this goal grinding these 5-6 days a week during peak hours while still playing MTTs at night and on most Sundays. I'll see what it takes though. It might take all my time and focus and I'll adjust to mainly playing these if that's the case. I'm starting a small stable of 180 grinders and I thought what better way to motivate them then to jump in the trenches with them.

I've played poker for years mainly for fun and started taking it seriously last year and I've played more or less full-time since last May. I work part-time and I might go back to work full-time soon which would make this goal a lot tougher but I'll still go for it and just take however long it takes. Within the past year I've been through stretches where I grinded hard and studied hard and there were times where I became complacent and didn't work on my game. I've ran hotter than the sun and I've run like **** at times too. All in all it was a solid year and a good all around experience being a full-time poker player but I want to be more consistent. I was mentored by Yugiohpro who has had some pretty awesome PG&C threads I don't know how awesome this thread will be but I'll try to update it regularly.

I also want to lose 45 lbs for once and get really fit again. I just want to go all out in most aspects of life more consistently like I have done in the past.

I'm not too sure what a realistic ROI or daily volume goal should look like but I'm going to aim for 50% ROI and 100 games per day and hope to hit $10k profit within 10,000 games.

When I complete this I might do a $4.50 180 reg speed challenge and a big long-term $3r 180 challenge as well but I'll see where life takes me.

GL everyone and anybody else doing challenges

Good luck to you but I don't see that 50% ROI being realistic over 10k games. I used to grind the 2s maybe 2 or 3 years ago and 50% was the theoretical max back then for someone who studied hard and wasn't subject to the lack of focus that comes from having large amounts of tables/just general wonky brain days, and was also able to do a lot of stalling at bubbles and whatnot which gets more and more difficult the more tables you play. (obviously you're always going to have days where you aren't thinking properly even if you are a mental beast)

I can't imagine the theoretical max EV ROI has gone anywhere but south since I've been away.

Good luck though I sincerely hope you prove me wrong.

Cheers yeah I'm not sure what a realistic ROI is that was a rough estimate of what I thought the max would be since I do hope to be one of the best in these games and I'm not approaching them lightly. I've been studying harder than ever and working on things I wish I did years ago this month in preparation. I played a few today and while there are tons of new players there are still definitely some solid players in them so it won't be easy.

Good luck to you. But man, what a waste of time and talent if you actually accomplish it.

Just what stars needs more of, a mass multitabler slowing the games down.

How many tables is mass tabling?

I doubt I'll play more than 6-12

If you look at the Sharkscope Leaderboards the best players in these games have 20% ROIS over large samples.

Gl ricky. Saw you on Yugioh's stream when you were reviewing a mtt with him. You seemed pretty switched on and a really humble guy.

All the best!

Cheers Labax.

Trekan61 had a pretty sick roi in these:

Again I have no idea what my ROI will be and I don't really want to speculate so I will just play and see. What I can confidently say though is that I've come prepared for the journey:

like other people said a ~50% roi is almost going to be impossible to achieve even at small stakes 180s, although that Doyle Brunson Book about Online poker has convinced me that you can do it

seems pretty hard like everyone else said. But hope you can prove everyone wrong. GL with this, will be watching

it's pretty hard, but it's not like it'd be a failure if you only end up w 20% or something.

GL and don't you win all the 80/20 flips vs me.

throw away the brunson book, get kill everybody and raiser's edge if you want old books.

that 59% ROI is not that definite based on a small sample.
calculated 25% ROI w 1.1k games:
Quote:
95% confidence interval (simulated)
95% of all simulated samples where within this interval. The second row shows to which ROI those profits correspond. That's the variance you should be prepared for.

$7 - $1,430 (950 out of 1000 samples)
0% - 51% ROI

99.7% confidence interval (simulated) $-333 - $1,763 (997 out of 1000 samples)
-12% - 63% ROI

He looks like he got pretty close I imagine nobody really grinds these past 10k games too often so I'm trying to find someone good who has.

Quote:
70% confidence interval (simulated) $2,200 - $3,509 (700 out of 1000 samples)
31% - 49% ROI

95% confidence interval (simulated) $1,672 - $4,157 (950 out of 1000 samples)
23% - 58% ROI

99.7% confidence interval (simulated) $1,120 - $4,657 (997 out of 1000 samples)
16% - 65% ROI

One last secret if you're looking for that extra run good sometimes you just have to pay your dues if you know what I mean. I forgot to pay up during my little heater last year. I was too cocky, enjoying the glory and forgot about who helped me get there and paying the rungood taxes. I've been trying to make up for it since. I hope it's not too little too late.
