OP is in San Francisco being a tourist atm so assuming limited access to the pokers.

got back from cali, was fun went to SF, LA, yosemite park and San Diego.

Fired up a session tonight. decided that for online im gonna play nl 200 until i hit 25k then should have sufficient funds for 400/600, again remember that the BR number isnt how much I have in my accounts (spending etc.). Gonna really start getting into a daily routine instead of firing up sessions at random ass times. Also might play some live tomorrow because some friends are in town.

i have a hard time rationalizing losing in poker because I always equate it to real life stuff, i.e i just lost a semester of tuition, i just lost 2 months rent, i just lost a plane ticket to Europe. Really have to stop doing that because it's definitely a massive mental game leak.

wow , I have also mental game problems, whenever I lose I feel how much I lost wow et cetera. But I havent gone that far as I lost that thing, I just lost "that stuff.

I think that mental game is underrated in poker, most people focus on learning the game theory itself, I am not saying that its not important, but mental game is probably very near on the ladder to the everything that is most important about poker

Them swings are pretty common and i know how you feel right now.
What helps me most in those dark times of downswings is study on your game really hard and focus on other thongs in life. Or even in poker. Play some smaller stakes or another format. Just for fun and to release some pressure from yourself. Once you get the heat back you can jump right into your main game. What also helped me a lot is setting new goals. Short challenges wich you can approach in a week or two. Not months or even years. That way you can motivate yourself more and stay on track.
And hell yes! Go running!
Number one advice from my site. Go ***** running!!!
This is the best ive ever done when feeling down. Go on a quick run with good music and you feel like a new person when you come back home!
