Have been living in Mexico for about four months now playing MTTs and am not too happy with my results.

I'm gonna use this thread to increase my volume and keep myself accountable for these next few months, as they're pretty crucial for my poker career.

I'll post graphs every few days and make sure to throw in any interesting hands (probably against the Brazilians).

I'm currently listening to Joey's newest podcast with WayneDaBang and he's talking about how variance can really mess with your mind, which obviously us tournament players realize this but wow that's true. Putting in the work off the table really helps my mental game though. Playing each hand as well as possible and (hopefully) the results will come.

40.6k hands and somehow exactly 500 games played since the last update, which is decent volume for MTTs given that I try not to go over 12 tables at any time. Running at 7 evbb/100 through that sample, but last few days have been gruesome in terms of running into the top of everyone's range. Lots of final tables and lots of deep sweats though, no complaints.


Also, four months into the grind and I just started using StackNTile. Not sure how I went so long without it but with five+ sites running my screen used to be a mess and now it's soooooo much better

I don't get the second hand at all. Why are you raising all in? Why not just call? You're only getting called by better and then you're turning your hand into a bluff. Doesn't make a lot of sense.

Going through pio it actually likes my turn sizing. But as soon as we nodelock (guy was a 13/11 nit) it likes going a lotttttttt bigger on turn.

As played we should only be shoving with the ten of hearts so small mistake my me but I'm glad my thought process was in the right place.

Volume was pretty mediocre this month, due to playing less tables, especially on Sundays.

I'm really happy with my game right now, even though the results still aren't showing the way I'd like them to, but as MTT players a lot of that is out of our control.

A lot of the first part of the year was me grinding low stakes to "get used to the real sites" in comparison to WPN, Merge, and Ignition. But now that I feel very, very comfortable in the games that I'm playing, my backers have decided to let me fire a more higher stakes schedule. Pretty pumped about this and I'm ready to have a big month.


So, what's next?

I have one more month in Mexico before my lease expires, and after that I'll be going back to the US to see my girlfriend in Florida, and then back to Ohio to see my family. Obviously I'm excited to go back and see everyone, but there's a little part of me that wants to instantly go somewhere else and keep grinding. I'm not sure if that's because I'm still relatively new to the "pro" scene and now consider this my job, but I'm sure once the time comes i'll enjoy being back in a country where I understand what everyone is saying.

Planning is something I've never really done / been good at, but I need to take care of a lot of things before my lease ends here in terms of finding where I want to go after my USA trip. I was really considering Croatia or Malta, but the safe thing to do is probably just go up to Canada for a few months and slowly plan out my European quest. Who knows, I'll try to keep this thread updated as I'm embarrassed to have taken a month to post again.
