Re: Clicking buttons towards midstakes!

Had nice weekend. Rest of the month has been meh, gonna post monthly graph at the end of the month. BB wise I'm doing good, but mixing stakes is fun.

Been basically playing only 400+ this month on a bunch of sites, also some 500z soulcrushing from time to time.

Also today played some 1k after being up decent for the weekend, so figured why not. Stacked 50bb fish, punted a stack vs weakreg. Just need a bigger BR and gonna start bumhunting 1k more and then hopefully 2k afterwards. I mean, the games shouldn't be that much different (atleast the 1k one) from 400-600 or 500z where I feel confident ( abit less at 500z but still feeling good).

Also don't have any problem with feeling the money at the higher games which is kind of surprising honestly, but really good thing to have. This might change after dropping +10k in a day, who knows.

Mah graph from past 50k hands is the sickest evrrr, lets hope it continues! Had semi goal for 2016 to win 100k preRB, think i have 63.24% chances for it, if I drop uni completely, chances will improve few percentages. But dunno. Doubt many midstake regs are going to uni though. : D

Some serious strat (fun) hands!

        Re: Clicking buttons towards midstakes!

Yeah haven't really had time to look at PLO at all, because so focused on NL and I don't really think it's possible to reach highstakes before highstakes die if I were to also put my energy and time into learning PLO. Maybe at some point, but not yet.

        Small update of the month.

        - 95% volume been 400+, yay midstakes COOL!
        - bb winrate is ok/good.
        - some 500z which has gone to **** lol
        - some 1k shots, feel good there, low volume, haven't won big or lost big there
        - basically I'm now $$-wise where i was at like 5-7 days into the month.
----> mixing stakes is not fun when things goes bad but wcyd
        - been studying A LOT

Had huge hangover for past 2 days where I hated life etc the normal stuff. Today woke up early went to play some badminton, and then was time for poker. Studied like 3-4 hours some hands. Played 1-2h session. Did some preflop analysis, analyzed bunch of hands from the session. Figured out some **** today and feeling better than ever about my game. Really need to keep my sleeping schedule straight as arrow from now on. NO MORE TIMBEYS **** EM!

Pretty confident I can tackle 1-2k games within few months if things go ok and shots don't go to ****. I talk strategy with some highstakes players and especially with one crazy crusher, which helps me quite a bit in some ways, even though, I feel quite confident in my theory game in most areas and can tackle most spots if I pay enough time for it.

I'm not sure how much tougher 400-600 (and 1k) games are compared to 200 which I kinda crushed past few months, as at 200 I felt like I was way ahead over most regs games, and still kinda feel the same, even though I needed to brush up my game in some spots as the exploits I relied at 200 weren't really doing the trick anymore. I've basically studied the game **** loads for past 6 months, which I'm not sure a lot of players do (watching rio vids doesn't count as studying lol).

Maybe my goals and feels are delusional, maybe they aren't, time will tell.

You have to remember that you've basically got into poker in the era of solvers. Now you can just pick a spot and session hands on that spot, it's much easier to improve than it was in the past, so the OGs formulating strategy based on street math were the real kings.
Gl with your goals, but I'd just say keep your head down, and don't worry about what other people are doing or aren't doing, if some people want to watch RIO videos and feel like it's a good way to study then let them, maybe it is.

Yeah very true, that line might've sounded a bit more arrogant than I meant it to be : //// And yeah I very much recognize the fact it's more easier (maybe more efficient is a better word, it's not like you can just copypaste what solver does unless you understand the math/reasoning behind it) nowdays to study than it was in the past.

PS: I used to use the street math approach a lot before!

        Re: Clicking buttons towards midstakes!

Month prettymuch done so might aswell post results.

        - Very disappointing results. Still up in bigblinds YEAH!
        - 90% of my volume was 400-600, which was cool, and gonna stay there hopefully.
        - Played like 8k hands at 500z, and got totally demolished, most of the losses came from that. Might've been an -EV spot to play that even though I tried to poolselect a bit, dunno.

My volume kinda sucks as I only play 6 tables and also had quite a few off days etc, so when I only play 30kish hands a month, the variance will not even out on a monthly basis. So can't really be too sad about the results, feel like I'm a winning player at midstakes and have an ok edge or I wouldn't play there.

Still gotta keep studying, have my mind on at least couple of topics I'm going to try to figure out better over next month.

        Goals for next month:

        - Have a winning month playing midstakes!!!!

        Re: Clicking buttons towards midstakes!

Things kinda went to **** with aggro BRM and regaining my confidence and re-evaluating how good I am and what stakes I should be playing. Expect little updates when downswinging as I don't like looking and even less posting results when losing lol.

It's so easy to think you are super good when you are running like a god, and then losing that all that confidence when you run like **** for a while and nothing seems to be working. I knew I was "running good" past few months, but still feeling like **** atm and regaining confidence at 200 for a week or so, even tho I'm still rolled for 400.

Luckily I got bunch of mid-highstake friends whose brain I can pick on daily basis which helps a lot, especially when downswinging encouraging words helps getting motivated. :///

Motivated to grind it back to shottaking 1k games and feel I can do it!! Not that much to do on how much I improve my game, but more about time and mindset, my technical game should be quite on par already, or maybe it isn't, it doesn't matter, time will tell. Think I just need to tone down some exploitative adjustments that I do at 200-400 and I should do fine at 600-1k.

Positive thing is that I think that my game keeps improving every week, so if I keep that up, good things should follow.

I get the same feelings man. Only problem is that I play so bad when downswinging/negative variance that it's effecting my winrate Also become complacent and don;t study so much when running well. Any tips?
