It depends what kind of girl basically. Almost everyone from my hometown finds poker v impressive, and it would definitely be a hit with them. But everyone in my uni/ post uni circles takes it less seriously. I think it just depends on peoples own career satisfaction really, the combination of most of my friends having really fulfilling/ well paying jobs and me never being overly enthusiastic about poker probably is why it's less well received.

Fwiw, where I am in Canada atm I just tell everyone who I don't know well I work in database analysis freelance, sounds boring enough to get them to stop asking questions haha

Just had my biggest losing day ever, 7kish, just had so many coolers, ran into top of range, got bluffcaught in 3bp rivers etc. But not feeling down at all, for some reason lately I've been just loving poker more than ever even though for a while after new year I wasn't sure in what direction I'm going with poker. Now I'm incredibly motivated and gonna do all my best to reach highstakes during 2017 (well 1k is kind of highstakes but not really). Which I definitely think is reasonable if even once in my life shots to next stakes would go well. Past week or so I've been just pushing 6h sessions every day and also ~few hours of labwork on top of that without even breaking a sweat, when like last few months I've normally grinded like average of 3h a day (maybe it's the fact that I'm not playing overwatch evriday anymore : D).

Think part of what motivates me so much, is the fact that I'm already sometimes playing in very similiar lineups at 1k as 2k and sometimes even higher, and feel like I can hold my own there, so knowing that it's kind of possible to get to 2k games just pumps me so much, and it's not really the money, but the fact that I'm incredibly competitive and playing with good players motivates me a lot. Also kind of getting pumped about the idea that I really want to be an endboss at some point, 2017 I'm gonna do the same **** linus did last year, LFG! Although maybe it's just running good and being deluded of my own skill. But we'll see how this **** develops after I get bigger sample at 1k games.

At start of the month I put myself a goal of 45k hands and on pace with that even though have taken 4 days totally off. Probably will try to hit more like 50-60k hands.

FWIW I've found people who I've met in social contexts to be largely receptive to poker. Certainly it's a +EV play, so to speak - people who are not dissuaded tend to be really interested.

Telling you now, 95% of drunk AF airhead female students are going to go down the "but like how do you make money?" or the "my cousin killed himself over horse betting" and it's just gonna get weird or you're gonna have to explain what a fish or a hud or rakeback is.

Yes, you should be very proud of what you do, but in THAT specific social moment, I prefer to just say I fix computers.

lolol, I live in Tampere. Though I will be going to Scotland next month to live for few weeks-eternity with few guys from my old stable, just gonna book one way ticket and come back when they kick me out, so not 100% I'll be at finland when you here. Also visiting London probably if #gazzybusto actually manages to get an apartment. If I'm here, def up for BEEEEEEERS!

Played again all 1k I could get and like 50%ish of the volume is 1k, where I'm contuinuin to run pretty well at least in EV graph, after 1.Dec 30k hands in at 1k and a whopping 10.4evbb/100, #sun. Also basically took my first shots at 2k games thursday/friday, though sold 25% of action there. But felt pretty great to play the stake I've been considering my end goal in poker forever, though now my goal is to do the linus/limitless and get to nosebleeds!


Volume was kind of ****, had a goal of 40k+ hands that I kind of achieved as got some MTT hands aswell as played one long session, where I ended up kinda breakeven. But for next month I plan to improve in this area and want to get atleast 50k hands, should be easily doable with just less offdays. During january I took probably like 8 days off total, which trumps the volume a lot.

Also won some on untracked sites, so think total net is close to 20k, but not sure of the exact amount.




If things keep going like this I probably need to move the yearly goal to 200k instead of 100k.





2017 is gonna be my year LFG!

I kind of disagree. When I used to have a "result goal" for the month, after I achieved it, I was kinda not even close to as motivated to play as before achieving it. Maybe I'm just wierd.

But yeah 200k is very hard nowdays esp with my volume, guess I need to bink some mtts.
