got my ass handed to me today super hard:



basically spent the entire day getting it in good and getting sucked out on. pretty painful way to burn through 5k$ but owell i m no topreg so no 5fig months allowed. games were really great today so fired a lot of the higher buyins i usually dont play bc everybody who s okay is in vegas now. sadly got very much punished for assuming i can win in softer games

came 9th in the $215 phase after being 3/9
13th in a $109 30k
11th in the $44 6m pko
4th $55 4k

and nothing else really tilting session. anyways off tomorrow then firing 2 sessions and then steak dinner for bday and flying home the day after. peace

I ve had one of the shiittier trips home in maybe forever but def recent memory which sucks cuz the last one was actually amazing. First gf and i got there on Friday night and had the one good day playing games and drinking with my school friends. Next day we hungoverly went to see my mom and my little sis at a BBQ my sister's after school
Place hosted. Obv there was a massive thunderstorm that screwed that up. We slept at my moms place on some hard mattresses which was nice in theory bc i haven't stayed overnight there in years bc we had pretty big issues and fights etc over the years so I m rly happy to have worked those out to that point but the mattress was so hard I still have back pain 9 days later
Sunday we went to a restaurant, in fact my fav Italian pizza place of my life, I ve basically celebrated everything in that place since I was 9 yrs old- end of school years birthdays, random fridays anything. I have this weird tradition of never ordering pizza with seafood anywhere but in this place. So did the same again and for first time in my life I thought the pizza there was 3/10 at best. Also I had a groggy Head and a sore throat since getting up.
No matter though, was a nice afternoon with the gf so should be fine innit? One hour later i was in hospital with my first in life allergic reaction to legit no clue what. I ve had his pizza 15+ times in my life with no issues and this came after one week in Italy where naturally I had eaten a ton of seafood with zero problems mind you. Legit had no clue what was going on and at some point legit hat fears of suffocating in the cab that took he slowest route possible to the nearest hospital. When there I had to wait 3 hours to see he doc (got injections right away to help with all he issues luckily) and another to have him give me his doctor letters so that was a night well spent.
Monday basically spent all day in bed and Tuesday I got sick so spent rest of week till Saturday in bed as well. Good talk
Came back Saturday night and played a session yday where once again I couldn't win blinds. Month is right around. Real even now after being +12k after one week. And I legit don't think this downer could be much avoided but it's just frustrating that after such a massive scoop I found a way to not make any money in the two softest months of the year. I have three weeks of volume left so hope to make some headways before Barcelona. Peace

Unlucky bro getting really sick is the worst. Spending multiple days in bed feeling rotten is horrible. Keep on grinding the skill will come through in the end. Micro millions is still soft, you just got to be a wizard at winning flips in the final 100.

What do you do when u find urself in a huge downswing? what are the first things to do?

I usually just play a tiny bit less and try to not bury myself in poker. That's about it more often than not I stick to what has worked ie review and grind it out at a slightly lower abi bc with slightly worse mindset i can't be bothered playing higher stakes
