Need to grind a roll out quickly for live games but also need some serious discipline since I'm not taking online poker so seriously these days, who would in 2016 right?

A little background, been a full on poker dream-chaser since 2006, managed to shot take and play NL200 for a while but a couple of 100+ under EV dives had me settling into some micro games for $20k/year just to hack variance and pay bills for a while until finally busting my roll gracefully into a computing degree in 2012. Since then been beating up on micros occasionally and am starting a new job in a months time

Main reason for this thread is to stop me from degening, and to force me to up stakes and improve my game again, oh and try and beat Doug Polk to $10k Should be a pretty good pace-setter.

My first port of call is to check out if any kickback sites still exist cos they were just free money, and to mess around on a few sites and formats to find the softest spots.

Wish me luck!

Well spent a few hours scouting the best sites for rb, kickbacks, softness and extra costs and it really is just no contest where to start building a decent roll these days...

I've deposited £20 and hopefully this thread can end in some live chip porn, and i won't forget my shades

what site would you recommend if you couldn't choose unibet?

Pokermira network looks pretty interesting atm and one of its skins goodday4play has a decent affiliate bonus through 'banlrollmob' and offers 28% daily rakeback. These low traffic/slightly dodgy sites tend to be super spewy and keeps away the seasoned grinders.

Also I got email confirmation that the kickback site 'boogster' is still running so there are probably some 100%+ rakeback deals going there. Only advice for kickback bonuses is be well rolled to always complete the wagering requirements cos you can bust your roll pretty easy swimming against zero rakeback and a high rake.

Im currently living in the 0.1% of the UK with zero mobile phone coverage and in the middle of an SNG session my phone line dies, so currently grinding cheeseburgers in a local McD's.

It's friday night and the donkeys are out!

Currently ahead of Polk by some margin, too early to tell but its lookin like there's a good chance I'm much better than him at this.

Mostly posting to keep track of my hours.

Playing a mix of mostly $1 SNGs and some NL4, might throw in some MTTs as they can get super soft on these small sites.

I think it's gonna be more important to hit the tables at the right times rather than format selection. It can make the difference between stealing 20c an hour from nits or the whole table jamming Q9o.

Lastly, never play in McDonalds, hands down the most tilting place to grind. All that ****ing beeping, kids screaming and throwing toys around and all you wonna do is shout out "oh cant just on mother-****ing c**ting hand hold up". Seriously, I could've done time over a $1 SNG.

Total hours, Im being a lazy bast' atm. I'll make it clearer in future posts.

Recognised your name and just read your thread. Just 2 bits of advise.

1. Quit smoking - biggest bullet I ever dodged, make sure you break the physical habit (no ecigs inhalators, rolled up paper etc) and the chemical addiction will be easy. Also Allen Cars quit smoking is great for the mindset.

2. Learn a skill aswell as poker - apart from some rainmen on here, most dont really grind more than 4 hours a day, that leaves plenty of time to do a part-time course, evening course etc.

Best of luck! You living in America?

I'm on Day 4 of not smoking. I feel better.

I live in America, yes. HBU?

I'm trying to completely focus on poker right now. My longest grind was 48 hours straight live poker. Not healthy. Pretty sure I can do 8-10 hours online no problem. We'll see though...

What site are you playing on?

Im on Unibet.

There's a ton of cheap tools for learning really quickly these days. I'd check out deucescracked training site. $29 for a month, but you can download as many video series as you want, very good value for money.

Best of luck with quitting smoking too. I did it with nicotine gum and taking up boxing. First 3 months sux, then gets easier until 1 day you realise you never miss it and you're free from dumping cash, breathlessness and seriously ****ing your health up.

Just joined the monday morning nit club and fm are they NITTY!

Slightly frustrating to be getting zero action on AA and nut flops but the upside is if you move to an anti-nit stratgy, relentlessly attacking their blinds and flops with small bets, hammering it in on scary boards that miss their nit-range and giving no action when they start barreling, they clam up and you can fleece them with relatively low variance.

Still, I think this nit-fest isn't good for the game and sites would be better off making all the games antes or maybe some sort of 'ante jackpot' where antes go to a pot and ppl playing more hands have more chance of winning it.

Got me new bankroll card through

I don't really have any big poker goals any more, but my 1 goal for the next year is to be rolled enough to whip this out for any live 1/2 2/4 games that crop up and think nothing of losing a few buyins.

You seen how high the rake is at unibet? And the bonus scheme is really top heavy don't see how it suits a micro grinder at all?

Yeah their rake gos up pretty steep and rakeback drops sharply at some points. For me the site suits my style though, its nice to make decisions based on game flow and poker sense rather than from stats. Also a bit more enjoyable with everyone playing less tables.

For the majority of players, neither of those are true really. At NL10 and PL25 and under, the rake is the lowest of any site by a long way. Above that, the rake is slightly higher.

The loyalty scheme pays out more at the bottom end than any site that I can think of off the top of my head. The top end pays out more too, and the middle pays out less.

So if you're an NL50 player who doesn't play a great deal, you are indeed worse off than on some other sites. Unless you include promotions, missions, the standard of play, etc. Not to mention the general strategy.

What planet are you living on? Because from what info i have gathered, rake on micros at Uni is the lowest of them all, AINEC.

Gogogo OP, yea i agree with antes needed in play, because otherwise it is pretty nitty during the wrong times of the day.
