Hey guys, my name is Damien Cooper and I've been playing poker for a living for quite a while now. After the recent rake changes made by pokerstars I decided to play poker the OG way again and grind live cashgames for a living.
After almost a year of absence from the tables due to a lot of private events, my bankroll took a huge hit and I have to grind my way back up again.
My goal is to make it to the world series this year and I'll decide from there where my journey will take me next.
I decided to vlog about it, since I feel this is the more interesting way.
I don't know if this is even allowed to insert my videos here, but I hope it is.
If not, I apologise.
If you're interested go check it out and leave some comments and critique.
cheers, Damien
Nice to meet you, good job, that big O form is easy ah, please do show a hand here and there poker life must have some poker in it. These clubs seem great, tho suppose NYC has those too, Welcome baller.
Hey, inrenokid. It wasn't even Big O. It was a 5 card plo high only game. Which increases the variance a lot. I'm trying to find a goof balance between talking and showing hands and the poker lifestyle in general. I'm waiting for more feedback on how to proceed with this.
thanks for the input!
episode three is online. No poker in that one, but I give you guys some insights on how a day in a life of a fulltime grinder could look like
Check it out!
I played and filmed a lot the past week but realized it's mostly just boring talk about poker. Which really isn't what the vlog should look like. So I'm trying a new approach being a little more on point. Tell me how you like it
First time I watched it. Enjoyed it. Are the games that bad in Vienna that you drive 50 minutes to play somewhere else, or you just felt like a change of scenery that day?
Hey, I didn't even see any messages, sorry for not replying. I have email notifications enabled but apparently it didn't work.
No, games in vienna are great, but to quote andrew neeme: "variety is the spice of life". Plus if you wanna play holdem any higher than 1/3 you have to leave vienna unfortunately.
I'd enjoy a little higher stakes as well. But even if they start a 2/5 or 5/10 once in a while I still feel the 1/2 tables are even better
