"Do you want to be a rich man?
Come on lets go and play
I never see you anymore
Come out the door
It's like you've gone away...
We used to be best buddies
And now we're not
I wish you would tell me why!
Do you want to be a rich man?
It doesn't have to be a rich man..."
"Go away"
"Okay, bye..."
Some background info about me:- 21 years old
- live in The Netherlands
- Doing my bachelor for IT at uni atm
- Will start working as dealer at casino on 18th of february
- Bad reg status
I've done some PG&C's in the past and they never really got where I wanted them to be. I have always been losing at 25NLz a year or two ago and slightly winning on 10NLz. I took a year break and got myself a normal job. However I quit the job because it was boring AF and now got myself a new one at the casino which seems more fun, and pays better (20 euro/hour).
In the meantime I have been playing recreational at sites like Partypoker and beat the 25NL speed tables there (but also spewing huge amounts of money on higher (PLO) stakes). They are much softer than PS' site but the software tilts me too much. I don't give a **** about other sites because PS has the best software, and that's what's most important to me.
So recently somewhere in mid january 2k17 I decided to give poker one more last serious shot. Lifetime I'm actually just +$200 up with huge up and downswings from playing recreationally at all stakes up to spewing at small and lower-mid stakes
. The graph doesn't look pretty to say the least...
Goals for 2k17:- Get rid of that bad reg status and beat atleast 50NLz before 2k17 ends which should be a realistic goal. My aim would be playing 100NLz atleast before the year ends but that will also depend on my mental game. I'm not delusional and know I probally won't get rich with poker. However it would be nice to do it semi profesionally and leave my croupier job at the casino if the situation lets me.
- Study a lot (20/80 ratio). Review losing AND winning hands.
Results so far for 8th Feb, 2k17 since mid-january:
It's a mix of 10NLz, mostly 16NLz and mostly 25NLz the last 6k hands. I have moved up to 25NLz again on stars and I am planning to shot 50NLz with 25+5 BRM or whenever I feel like it.
I have had also my first coaching session with cardrunners coach
MDoranD. He has helped me A LOT plugging some immediate leaks and teaching me solid fundamentals. He's also a great person to talk with. So thank you for that.
Another person I want to thank is my long-time poker friend "Niebro". He has always been helpful to me whenever I needed his help (not always, but almost always
), so thank you too.
I would also like to thank my new study group. Finally found one for 25NLz-50NLz and they are all cool guys
.
Blogging plan:- I will try to update results on a regular basis.
- I will sometimes post interesting(?) hands.
GL all!
