THE CHALLENGE:
1) Win >10bb/100 over 30k hands at 1/2.
2) Move up to 2/5, play 30k hands there, and move up again.
3) Win 70k or more from now till the end of 2018.
4) Play a minimum of 6 hours a day.
5) Study PIO/training videos 3 hours a day.
6) Study mindset 1 hour a day.

I will be posting daily on this thread. Mixture of my life thoughts, hand histories, and goals.

In terms of life responsibilities, I'm 21 and have none, other a girlfriend who I see once a week or so. Outside of that, I'm free to degen poker 24/7. Lets go!!

How much did you start off with and how long have been playing on ignition? I'm 21 as well but mostly play live.

I started with nothing to my name around march this year, mostly started with SNGs. I also played some live, and a variety of cash games on different sites. Also some PLO in there, which I have lost a bit in.

As of Ignition cash, I just started playing it within the past week. These 14k hands have all been played in the last 10 or so days.

Where do you play live, and what do you play?

I would say just be mindful of your BRM and having enough buy ins to comfortably move up to $2/5, although your results are impressive so far it is by no means a decent sample size. I would suggest grinding out at least 50k+ hands before playing some $2/5 but to each his own. Best of luck will be a fun follow.

Thanks for the advice. My plan is if I'm not winning enough at 1/2 over 30k hands, I will put in more hands to boost my bankroll a bit before 2/5.

No way to get to 2kNL fast without some aggressive bankroll strategies.

Hit 6-7 hours. 1800 hands. Overall $-96. Also got in some PIO + a Nick Howard mindset video, all in one day.

Started off the session down a few buy ins, and climbed it back up, only to break even at the end of it all. Overall, an underwhelming session. I like the more swingy days. I was only stuck 600 at the lowest peak, and only up 400 at my highest peak.

Games got significantly better starting around 1-2am est. I might have to try and fix my sleeping schedule to start sleeping at 6am in order to catch the late night games. Currently sleeping around 4am.

---I'm not sure what I should be doing on the turn. I went for a 1/4th pot strategy for some protection against AK. Looking back, it seems I can check back turn, and exploitative fold river to a lead.

Ya totally understandable just saying its nice to have a decent cushion when moving up in stakes, and if you are profitable over x amount of hands then playing little extra wont hurt and you could comfortably take a bigger shot without worry when moving up. I like the ambition though and hopefully things work out. glgl.

1200 hands. +1k. Not much volume, because I'll be at the casino playing 10/25 PLO. I've sold a lot of action for this game, but still will be riding the swings. Should be a fire game.

Not sure how healthy these V8s really are, but I do feel better and felt like I was thinking slightly more clearly in game. Certainty felt like I needed less coffee today also.

Anyways, off to the casino! Will update after.

Congrats on the big winning day. RE: V8 actually just bought a bunch of these for my 5yr old son who is a incredibly picky eater, anyways doctor suggest V8 juice to have during meals and he only liked the peace/mango one out of the 4 we tried. Anyways feel like if the doctor suggested it for a 5yr old can't be to unhealthy for ya.

Quick update from the PLO session at the casiono: lost 600, but ran good in swapping with my brother. Ended +400.

Didn't play at all yesterday due to a wedding. Making it up today by skipping PIO/mindset work in favor of playing 10 hours and trying to hit 3k hands.

Played 4-5 hours so far. Hit 1300 hands. Currently on an hour long break before I start my second session. I started the day off at 200nl for the first 600 or so hands, and then moved to 500nl after. Nice to run good while shot taking a bit. Going to look to make the full time switch to 500nl if I don't take a quick downswing at the start.

Not sure on how profitable my flop float is without the 7h. I almost pussied out on the river bluff, but don't think villain ever checks AK to me on river, so I went for an exploitative bluff.

Usually a standard fold on the turn, but playing against a spaz, sometimes you got to just look them up.

Good to hear. I'm going to look to bulk order them off Amazon. I think v8 is the hidden key to run good

This happened my first orbit into the session. I need to work on mindset more.

My new plan is to drop back down to 1/2, and beat them with volume. Will try to hit 4k hands from now on, everyday.

Woooo! Had my biggest session at 1/2 ever in my life. +2152 and 4.3k hands. Played pretty much from wake to sleep. Felt great all around---sharp on my reads, and disciplined throughout.

Feel like I could have gave this one up. Not sure if he cbets 88-JJ, which would have changed my river decision.

Overall feels great to bounce back after losing 2.5k at 2/5 yesterday. 4k hands was easier than I thought it'd be.

May I ask how you'r studying? Do you review individual hands with PIO or are you using aggregation reports for example.
Do you play a exploitable style against regs or are you trying to play close to GTO?

Hey man! I don't like reviewing specific hands, and I don't believe that's effective PIO studying. I like to use PIO for more broader approaches to your game, which does include aggregation reports.

I'll also use PIO to look at how to play certain spots the majority of the pool is doing. For example, a lot of people use the 100% cbet strat when they're the pfr 3better. I'll look into BB vs BU, and nodelock BB to cbet at 100% freq, see how PIO responds to that, and then look to incorporate that into my game.

I should also note that I am fairly new to PIO (started using it within the last 2 months), and I am sure that I am far from using it at 100% optimal.
