The live doom switch finally struck. Got decimated tonight. Will just post the notes I had. Played 2/5 tonight and let's just say it was a quick exit.

4:45
200

Old guy limps from utg another old guy limps I make it 13 with J8ss from CO and and then BB calls and so do others

Flop K52ss they all check to me I bet 25 with my flush draw
BB folds, utg flats and then other limper makes it 55 and I flat the 55 after already having put in 25 and then utg ships for 135 and other limper folds and I call off and brick runout Ax6x vs 22 for a set

Just bad won't even sugar coat it

Reload 200

Old timer with 34 stack straddles big stack on my right calls, I pop it to 25 with 97dd, B fish calls, tight SB old guy calls then old man in straddle shoves so everyone calls the extra 9 and we see flop 5 ways

Pot is 150-160 flop comes out 765dd I think and open ship 185 after one guy checks to me and then B folds, SB tight old guy reshoves and then it's me him and old timer in straddle
Board runs out 4dQd old timer has AKo and SB has AKdd

Reload 200

Limps 4 ways to me in CO with A9cc I make it 15 only old fish to my right calls and says okay let's see a flop

Flop AKJss he checks I bet 22 he calls
Turn 5x he checks I bet 35 he calls
River Kx he leads 65 and I call he has K3dd

Frustration call vs big fish

Reload 100

7:45
in for 700 out for 111

2/5

Nothing of note besides last hand. I had chipped up to 620ish and then following hand happened.

It limps 4 ways to me in CO and I limp with 44 and see flop 6 ways.
Flop 984sss first limper bets 30 and old white dude flats and I decide to flat also. See the turn 3 ways.
Turn 9x first limper makes it 40 and old white dude flats so I make it 150 and first limper tanks then folds and then old white dude looks at me and thinks 30 seconds then makes it 350 and I go all in and he calls
River Qx
I show 44 and then old white dude shows 88

After last night's horrendous live seshs, I decided to play online this morning. Just grinded it out and near the end of my sesh hit a 25x. Got HU pretty easily and then was patient and took it down. Pretty decent way to bounce back a bit! Have soccer this evening and then undecided on what the night has in store.

Played live last night but there was only rly one hand of note.

Young looking guy with tattoos who previously limped KK utg then made it 37 over my 11 iso is in the next hand

I start the hand with 250 and he has me slightly covered

I open AQo from MP he's only caller in SB
Flop QJ5r he's eating then looks up he's like what's going on and bets 25 into a pot of maybe 15. I think about raising but decide to call in position.
Turn 5x he leads 25 again and I call
River 2x he pauses for 15 seconds then shoves all his chips in says all in. I ask for dealer count and it was like 215.

What's going on here?

Ended up playing another life sesh for 9 hours straight in same seat at one table. Played well, disciplined and was very on point. Was in for 200, never had to reload and cashed out for 1369!

Now I just need to get some online grinds going!

versus good, smart opponents a 3 bet here to a non all-in amount will raise red flags, like if u min raise pre the smart players will be like, "well that looks like he wants to be called, he must have AA." i doubt the players you were facing would have thought or cared. You should have 3bet to like 5bb total or something, especially after the SB came along.

I mean I only had 8-10bb from what I can recall. I think my play camouflaged my hand and was probably long term a great way to stack people in that scenario.

which uni do you go to in Mtl?

Do you play most of your live volume at the Playground or at the Casino?

Concordia University.

I think I have played maybe 25ish seshs this year and all but one were at Playground. The other one was at the casino, but I have been meaning to go play there sometime soon!

Oh cool, I was at JMSB a couple years ago

Never been to the Playground; is it true you can eat there for free if you grind cash??

I actually like the Mtl casino poker room; you have tables running at any time of the day.

Nice I have a lot of friends in JMSB.

I'm not advocating Playground, but they for sure have more games running than at the casino at all times. As for the food and drink, you basically just order off of the menu and the waitress will bring it to you and you just tip her a couple bucks. Apparently the rake is higher at the casino, but I honestly haven't looked into it.

2 limpers I make it 35 from MP with Q10cc and aggro competent girl on my left makes it 80 folds back to me I peel
Flop Q97hh I check she bets 70 I call
Turn 4h I check she checks
River 3h I lead 175 she folds

Fish straddles to 10, other fish on my right limps I make it 45 with AQo straddle calls and fish who limped calls
Flop A32cc, fish limper checks I bet 90, straddler calls, fish folds
Turn 2x fish open jams his last 80-100 I snap and win on 8x river

Guy straddles I call with A3hh from MP and CO calls then B makes it 35 we see flop 3 ways
Flop K87hhd I check, CO checks and B bets 40 which is rly small I think about raising but decide to peel and if CO peels I get better value but CO folds
Turn 6d I decide to lead 120 and B tank folds

Straddle and double straddle I'm on B with 9c9x I make it 60 only first straddle calls who is a donk likes to play any variety of hands loves suited connector types and also led twice on J108hh8x earlier with J9dd
Flop 1088cc he leads 85 with 150 behind, hero?

When you get your first hand and forget that the cards are in French...

Second hand I try to complete A9o in SB 6 ways but BB makes it 10 then one limper calls so do I
Flop 875r I check, BB bets 20, limper folds, I peel
Turn 9x I check, BB checks back
River Jx I lead 45 and BB says do you have the 10 or the 6 and I stay quiet then he folds and I say both jokingly

Few hands later I get Qd10x in CO and make it 13 over 2 limps and blinds folds limpers call
Flop A72ddd they check I bet 20 and first limper folds, second one calls
Turn 6d limper checks I check back
River Kx limper leads 15 and I minraise to 30 and he calls with A4o lol

Straddle is 4 not 5 at Montreal Casino which is kind of weird

Overlimped Q4ss on the B saw the flop 6 ways
Flop Q95s checks to this donk who bets 5 and I flat someone else flats
Turn 5s first guy checks donk bets 16 I call and other guy folds
River 2s donk leads 30 with 180 total and I make it 85 he sees me raise 10 seconds pass then he shows a 5h and shoves
I go into the tank and think it through he has to have like 95hh or 52hh so then I ask him if he has a boat and he says no and I think it through and realize he would actually do this with just a 5 and he starts saying if you have QQ, 99, 22 you're good and I end up calling cause I figured he didn't even see the flush and he has 75hh so my read that he wouldn't limp his hand unless suited in that spot was accurate

Basically had a few spots where I flopped top two on A108cc and got it in vs 97o and lost, then flopped bottom set on J72h and pretty much got it in on turn and villain had a weak combo draw and hit a backdoor flush.

Also this hand, competent player opens to 10 utg, I make it 25 with QQ from CO and then he slides out a 4bet to 75 with 120 left behind. I ended up folding and he said he had AKo and told me it's super standard to get in QQ in my spot. I disagree at 1/2 vs overall population and did not know that he played online until later.

One important hand that I can sum up by good play, bad table.

It limps 6 ways I have Q9o in CO.
Flop J97r, 4 people check to me I decide to bet 5 and thin the field with a decent second pair (I know, can be a standard check. I end up getting 4 callers including the B.
Turn was 10x and it checks around to B who now bets 10 and it gets called in 2 spots before it comes to me and I decide to call with pair and open ender as I closed out the action.
River 10x, one fish checks, then another fish leads 10 into a pot of roughly 80 and now I have two blockers to nutted hands and decide to pop it to 80 because that 10 bet is super weak and at best villains have 8x here imo. So I pop it to 80 and villain on B tanks for almost 90 seconds before calling, then the first fish who checked river does the same and calls, and other fish who led 10 folds.

To summarize, board is now J971010r and I bluffed with Q9o, villain on B calls with 86o, fish villain overcalls with A8o...Learned my lesson.

Today I made an interesting investment. I basically invested 3k CDN into Ethereum, the cryptocurrency. I originally thought about investing in it when it was roughly 11-12 USD during the Summer, but I could not manage to pull the trigger. I will be the the first to admit that I am not as savvy or knowledgeable as I should be considering I put some skin in the game. Although, I do believe that it will be a worthwhile investment. For those wondering, it was roughly 50 USD when I purchased.

Going to keep this update short and sweet because I am strapped for time. This month was horrendous health wise, decent school wise, and played roughly 60-70 hours of live poker as well. Still debating how to integrate live poker into my thread in terms of updates. Let's get to the results.

Going to be on a health cut, so more cardio, more lifting, better nutrition. Should be more achievable now that the snow is melting and I can run outside sometimes. Will also be finishing this semester in terms of school this month I believe. Although, I will be taking Summer classes, so it does not matter much haha. Anyways, thanks for reading guys!

Had a solid sesh last night at Montreal Casino to end the month. For some reason a lot of the people there tilt me super hard because they are wannabe pros and so on. You've got guys grinding 1/2, doing over exaggerated manneurisms, while playing some 16$ MTT on their phone with their headphones on. It's just like come on...but anyways plenty of fish there. Pretty funny how at this point it's not the game that tilts me but the surrounding.

This month was a complete blur. Really in rough shape today so I am going to summarize it from the best of my recollection.

- barely played online
- played a few live seshs
- had a lot of school work/finals
- diet/gym was decent actually
- club soccer team started practicing
- went on a 3-4 day roady to party with buddies at their uni

Really wanted to get this update out of the way because I am in pretty rough shape after this past bender of a weekend. Tomorrow I have my last final of the Winter Semester so the rest of today is dedicated to preparing and studying. Will most likely have to enroll in some Summer classes to expedite my degree, but that is what I get for slacking off previously. Really looking forward to Summer though, should be amazing!

Thanks, I have not played any live poker for quite some time which is weird because their was massive action at Playground recently! The waitlists to get in the games were too insane so I did not really bother with it.

__________

Not sure how much poker I am going to play in May as 1/3 of the month is finished and I basically just played my first sesh recently. I am prepping the engine for a massive Summer grind and am kind of excited. Not entirely sure what I will be grinding, but I will figure it out. Also taking Summer classes so that should eat up some of my time, but if I do not be a lazy pos it will be easily doable.

Been railing SCOOP events, mainly on twitch and hope all the boys take em down! Sucks not jumping in the action but I cbf with these MTTs right now haha.

Feels good to be exiting Spring and entering Summer (even though Summer officially starts in ~20 days). May was a busy month for me and my poker grinding took a bit of a back seat. Not only did I finish my Winter Semester at University, I began the first Summer Semester. Already had a midterm this week! I am taking two classes in the first Summer Semester and it ends around June 20th + a short exam period. Will be doing my best to get these classes done and will likely be taking more classes in the second Summer Semester (rip Summer).

Anyways, let's get on with the the meager results...damn they are ugly.

Glad to get this update out of the way because it was ugly. I really dislike Spring and am happy to be moving onto Summer. Honestly did not focus as much on poker as I would have liked and it showed in my results. I am just glad to have profited and will work harder.

Admittedly, the vast majority of the month I was entranced in crypto currency.

This ETH investment has been doing very well and I even added to it. Very exciting and volatile industry. As it stands, I am making more off of this investment than I am from playing poker and I am not even doing anything. Works well with my studies grind though!

I plan to grind hard this Summer and think that I will finally add live poker updates/results into my thread. It has been several months since I have played live, but now that I will have more free time, I should be able to get some volume in.

Thanks for reading!
