Apart from that, I fired a bunch of DFS NFL and I woke up today hoping to sweat it, but the power was out due to a windy storm. Ended up going to my intramural soccer league and then my club team had a scrimmage in which I also played. Pretty tired right now and just watching my Patriots as I write this.

Should be going to some classes this week as well so will be a busy one!
HELL yeah man putting in some live volume Which reminds me i gotta put in more online volume...

I don't usually post in LLSNL anymore, you get people who post stuff that don't know what they're talking about/are trolling and only get like 1-2 good responses from legit posters.

---

Lines were both very good/standard, casino de montreal is sort of nitty like the 1/2 games in montreal seem to be nitty vs. the 2/5 games.

And with flatting 43s idk the sb and bb strat is diff online vs. live games yeah?

In regards to live poker...

Don't 3x it in live the avg raise size is usually 4x-5x so if it's 1/2 i open to 10 normally or 15 at rlly splashy games, and if it's 2/5 i open to 20 usually.

Was pretty shocked to see so many of the games advocating a fold of 43ss in BB versus open and call that deep. I don't play live cash but I assumed that was a pretty good peel from the BB

Maybe because of rake? Also if someone has never played online perhaps he will never have intuition about +EV defends in these spots due to small sample size/poor memory.

Game takes longer to evolve. It wasn't that long that the general advice was to open 80%+ on the button online when ppl used to fold too much.

I'm still confused between the sb and bb strat live vs. online.

Atm i play a totally different strat when playing live as opposed to online.

---

*Since blind defense/blinds don't matter in live poker does it mean we should have less of a flatting range?
(Like the majority of winrate doesn't come from defending our blinds, not sure how +EV it's going to be to be flatting a ton of speculative hands OOP from the blinds...
However most of the hands will be MW anyhow which is a good thing + the idea that a good thinking villain will pick up on the fact that you can't have a range advantage/enuf value combos on some flops like 789tt if you are never flatting hands like T6s etc.)*

I think i do flat some hands like 45s, 67s, 87s, 98s etc... from the blinds and suited Ax for sure from the blinds as well as have a 3-betting range, but i can't see my self flatting 86s or 96s etc...

Not sure if your trolling me/leveling me or if you even read my post or play live but most/almost all raise sizes live are usually 4x-5x

The first hand, normally I like to open between 8-12 an iso over limps bigger. Ideally, I would have more fold equity with larger eff. stacks, but I honestly thought the line I took was good.

The 43s hand I thought it was good since I was closing the action and good see good flops with a suited connector. There are reverse implied odds vs bigger flushes, but as played I think it was good except larger flop check-raise sizing and I basically just got coolered.

Cash is not my main game, that is why I really do appreciate input/feedback.

This is interesting advice as I'm gonna play live cash for the first time soon. Prob still not folding 86s+ and rather fold more offsuit Ax Kx Qx.

Ya for sure, suited connectors play well multi way and a lot of live players are droolers.

Honestly, Autumn is my favourite season of the year which means that I am usually thrilled. Although, this month was pretty uneventful for me. University started back up and I was originally set to take four classes, but ended up only enrolling into three. I have not attended all of my classes and am currently behind on my work load. Now that assignments are being handed out, I am definitely feeling the urgency to get on the grind.

For the majority of the month, I was excessively unhealthy for my standards. Although, I have cleaned it up this past week and moving forward, I will be better. My club soccer team's season ended as we were eliminated the other night in playoffs. In terms of physical activity, Autumn will consist of intramural soccer, lifting, and cardio.

The poker front was essentially another month on the grind and I even played a little bit of live poker. Although, I will not include that in this update.

Pretty crazy to think that I have completed 20% of my challenge. It may not be that much in the grand scheme of things, but it is definitely nothing to scoff at! I plan to continue grinding and shot take some higher stakes as I have been complacent for far too long imo. My bankroll is big enough to be playing higher stakes, so I need to expedite the challenge progress and take more risks while I can afford it.

Thanks,

Elliott

Got pretty wasted this weekend and was hanging badly today, but glad that I got that out of my system. Excited to get the month started and be productive. Feels like a fresh start and I plan to make the most of it. Surprisingly, I have played a decent number of games to start the month off and have been shot taking/playing some higher stakes as well. Going to put in the work and the rest is out of my control!

Week has been going meh, went to class which is good. Considering taking some time off poker to focus on university as I have a bunch of work coming up. We will see though!

Volume has been decent, but I spewed a bit at times from too many tables so need to consciously stay on top of that as it is -EV.

Well, I have essentially taken a week away from poker and will likely be taking at least another week. Essentially, I had a small trigger incident that shook me up and made me realize I had to get my school **** together. It was 10pm Sunday night and I was watching Sunday Night Football when I suddenly realized that I had forgotten something. I frantically checked my computer to see that I had an assignment due at midnight (1500 word essay) and I had not even started any of the material (oh fk). Ran to my room and tried to make the best of the situation and basically ended up with 55% on the assignment haha. Technically, that is not a fail, but might as well be in my eyes. Anyways, this past week I have been catching up on school work and working on an essay. Had to reset my priorities.

Will be back to the grind in due time

The last two weeks I have been grinding my school work out as I finished two 10-12 page essays. Anyways, I get to class today to hand in the second one that I did and turns out it is only due next week! Guess I will just tweak it a bit and hand in next week.

Been having tough time sleeping lately due to lack of physical activity in combination with my mind on overdrive. I ended up dropping that class that I got a 55% on the assignment which is pretty pitiful. Now I am only taking 2 classes this semester...pretty much a waste of time unless I do very well, so that's the plan.

I'm majoring in Political Science but to be honest, I could not give less of a **** about this program. Realistically, I just want to get back to law school as quickly as possible. Although, at the same time, I am getting close to turning 24 years old and have no University Degree to show for it. Being in school all of my life, it is all I know at this point. I look forward to saying **** it and just having some genuine life experiences sooner than later.

Will get back to some poker this week though!

I am going to keep this update short and sweet. Basically, I took roughly two weeks off to work on school and write some papers for my courses. It was a grind but I am glad I got it done. Therefore, there was not as nearly as much poker played as I would have liked. Anyways, here are the results.

Was trying out a different site just to see what it was like and such. Did not put in that much volume and was too lazy to post each graph. Although, ran badly and lost some BIs at 20s and essentially ran a bit over EV at 30s. A lot of weak bumhunting regs on that site and sometimes they would sit me, but soon after run for the hills lol.

Did not meet either of my monthly goals, but I am fine with that. Prioritized university when necessary and it was also nice to have a break from poker as well. Looking forward to November and will continue to grind poker and university. Work hard, play hard!

Forgot to mention, but sold my AAPL holding on October 7th at 113.79 USD for a nice little return. Very small return, but percentage wise did decently and nice to see a plan come to fruition. Good to get my feet wet in another industry.

It was an interesting week as my grind differed than the norm. For starters, I decided to play some 50nl zoom and have been playing it when I feel like it. Ultimately, I would like to build a sample size to see where I stand in that format. Sometimes it is nice to play other formats in order to think differently about the game. Additionally, I have been playing hypers as well, but I am not thrilled with my performance this month. Perhaps, it would be beneficial not to even play at all during some days. This would allow me to be more productive with my school work and prevent myself from being burnt out or complacent.

In other news, I have ordered a set of 35 pound dumbbells off of Amazon. Ideally, I will slowly work on collecting my own workout equipment for when I eventually have my own place. It would be nice to one day be able to lift in my garage. Gotta start somewhere! The gym is still necessary for now and I have been procrastinating big time with that...

Lastly, I bought and sold a medical marijuana stock this week and had a return of roughly ~16% which was fantastic. I would like to be more educated, knowledgeable, and confident when it comes to managing my own wealth. Sometimes I wish I had studied finance instead of what I am doing, but who's to say that I cannot learn on my own.

Going to enjoy the UFC fight tonight and have some drinks.

Enjoy.

I have been playing a fair amount of 50nl zoom this month. It is nice to switch formats a bit for some variety. Naturally, I have been encountering spots that I am not accustomed to. Therefore, I think I will post some HHs for some feedback. Some other things I would like to know:

What is a solid hand sample size?
How many hands per month would be considered solid volume?

Now, some hands that I played where I would appreciate some feedback!
