Have been playing here and there this week, haven't checked results, but volume hasn't been great. Decided not to play at all yesterday, but eventually it was 11pm and was bored so played a bit. For the most part, felt good to do nothing most of day, but honestly found myself kind of bored. Ended up cleaning and tidying up my room and living spaces since I truly believe that being in a tidier/organized space helps me clear my head/think more clearly.

Kind of like playing without checking results, might consider doing it more. Might be going on a 3 day bender this weekend (starting tonight). We will see...

Spent a lot of time downloading music and making a playlist yesterday for when I start lifting again. I guess that was sort of productive haha.

just came off 3 day bender, barely slept last few days...with that said might take it easy today and just play MTTs, might just go starfish on couch all day, to be determined

Well the month has basically flown by so far and I am not entirely sure where the time has gone...

On the poker front, I have not played as much as I think I should be playing, but put in some okay-ish volume. Deciding to update now since I think I will try to just grind the rest of the month and not bother to look at the results until my monthly review. Here are the hypers for the month so far:

School and gym will be taking up some of my time starting this week as well. I am undecided as to how many classes I will be taking, but it's looking like either 3 or 4 due to the fact I have already completed certain requirements.

Hoping to get a good night's sleep tonight as the past 4-5 days I think I average about 5.5 hours/night and didn't get very good sleep. Anyways, that's all for now, do work everyone!

didn't get great sleep last night but it was decent enough

called my university and set up an appointment with an academic advisor next week which is good

I then proceeded to play a sesh and even though I didn't get my PT4 results, I just know that it was probably my worst sesh/day ever in terms of losing. I played well for the most part, just got doomswitched. I was mentally okay with it and snap stopped the sesh and got in the car and drove to the gym and signed up and put in a workout. Now I am about to leave to play some soccer tonight.

Even though poker did not go well today, having balance in my life and finding success in other areas makes it much easier to accept, learn and move on.

I recently watched most of the latest PCA Fedor Holz/Chicago Joey podcast and it was a good watch, but one thing Fedor said stuck out to me. He mentioned how being good at something variance free and always being good at it because you just work hard at it, is extremely rewarding and a great feeling. I really vibed with that thought and sought out to feel the same way in terms of variance free success.

Went to bed earlier than usual last night and set alarm with intention of playing an early poker sesh. Woke up before my alarm, had a bite to eat and watched Aziz Ansari - Master of None on Netflix (pretty funny, interesting take on comedy). Proceeded to play an early sesh and things continued to go badly for me and I definitely didn't need to check my results to know that. Won't whine any further, ending sesh to go to the gym do some cardio.

Woke up today thanks to my alarm clock (hate alarms) at 10am and proceeded to make breakfast which was 3 eggs and a slice of whole wheat toast. Watched some more of Aziz Ansari and I find the show gets funnier as the season goes on.

Anyways, proceeded to play a poker sesh and continued to run badly at the beginning, but things went a bit better as the sesh went on. Going to lift later and do some cardio before going out tonight. Plan is to drink hard alc in predrink and then maybe coast on some brews at the bar or wtv.

Something I'd like to address really quickly. I have honestly been trying not to whine and complain and be tilted for a long time now. On the tilt front, I must say I have done a really good job and don't spew very often. What I would categorize as spew is making soft calls and shoves etc. Another form of spew is just trying to rep something or not listen to my reads. As for the whining and complaining, I still do it (mainly to myself), but it has definitely improved.

It is definitely true that confidence does waver through a downswing, but I am positive that I will emerge from it like I have always done. I am properly bankrolled for the stakes that I am playing so for me personally, that dramatically helps my mental game. I have yet to check my graph since I decided no results checking for rest of the month - although I did check vs one new reg villain who I was pretty frustrated playing as he ran like god and the graph confirmed. I was surprised to see on the graph that I was beating him for like 3.5% evROI when in reality I thought I was getting crushed/running badly.

Part of me writing this is to look back on one day. It is extremely important for one to know that they have gone through adversity in the past and time and time again have overcome it. No matter the level of adversity, whether small or big, the consistent trend is overcoming it, which is ultimately the main importance.

Thanks for reading guys.

It's been a pretty swingy week of poker I think. Have not checked my results yet, but definitely don't feel great about it. There was one day I think I played ~75 games straight 2-3 tabling and by the end I was like wow I need a break. Not to mention that was my second sesh of that day. To end out the month, I am going to try and just play 2-3 tables and really focus on best decisions. I feel as though I lost touch with that a little bit and was too volume hungry at one point so quality suffered.

As for the gym, I have been getting in decent exercise all week and am pretty happy with that. Definitely feels good to feel as though you are improving in some way, shape or form on a daily basis. For the most part I have been eating relatively clean as well. Of course there is still room for improvement. With that said, I'm going to go to the gym now and rest of month play a bit and then do a monthly review Sunday I think.

Went to play live 1/2 tonight after I went to the gym. Sat down feeling pretty good even though I do not particularly enjoy driving there. It's only 20 minutes but by the time I park and get in a game it's closer to 40 minutes. Anyways, played for almost exactly 2 hours before I was just not in the mood to continue. Overall I played pretty well, probably my best live ever. Only profited 60$, but it's all good it was nice to shake things up from my usual grind.

I would say overall this was a good month in terms of life balance and overall self improvement. I joined a local, but small gym and started going regularly as well as eating cleaner. Additionally, I enrolled in some classes and met with an academic advisor to stay on top of my academics. Without a doubt, I am a better person in several ways than I was a month ago.

With that said, poker was pretty **** this month and I'm not going to sugar coat things. The plan for this review is just to get it done and move on. That is the reason I am updating before the month is over, because I need to take a break and refocus as well as regroup.

✫ 10$ Hypers ✫

In the end, I just play these to take it easy and try new things and add extra volume. Will always feel comfortable and crush them.

✫ 25$ Hypers ✫

These went absolutely horrid this month. Lack of focus, too many tables at once, lot of reg battling, ran badly, bad cd, blahblahblah onto next month. Atrocious.

✫ 50$ Hypers ✫

Did not get in as much volume as I would have liked since it's mostly reg battling. Whenever I had the opportunity I would grab a lobby even though it would usually result in playing a reg. I need a bigger bankroll to really have a go at them.

✫ All Hypers ✫

Just an overall graph combining 10s, 25s and 50s for the month. Naturally the graph looks weird since the 50s graph had an impact and 25s were atrocious, but this is how it looks overall.

✫ MTTs ✫

Overall I didn't play very many of these since when I joined the gym, I wanted to be able to snap stop my sesh to go lift. Therefore, I do not know my future in terms of MTTs at the minute.

[ ] 2000 Hypers
[ ] 3.5-5% evROI

Monthly Results

Hyper Profit: 209$
MTT Profit: -118$
Rakeback: 91$

Total Profit: 182$
------------------------
Challenge: 5748$

To wrap things up, it was a pretty ****ty month overall in terms of poker. Although, that is not all that matters and all things considered, it was a good month. I am grateful for that and happy with the direction my life is heading. At times I forget that poker is just a card game and as seriously as I take it, it is far from my only option and I have other ambitions that are ultimately more important to me. Perhaps I lost sight of my poker goal this past month, but I will come back strong in February and do my best as always.

One last tidbit, in total, I played two live 1/2 sessions this month and profited a minor amount. Nothing noteworthy, but I plan to play more live in the future and track my results on my phone. I will also continue to play DFS as I think I have a solid ROI and am even considering upping my operation. That's it for now everyone, remember, get better not bitter!

Well I boozed pretty hard last night and at one point spilled my drink on my laptop. So as of right now it's looking like rip my laptop. On top of that I lost my debit card and had to call and cancel it and freeze my bank account. Better days on the horizon, better days.

Feeling pretty decent today, I have been getting a good amount of rl **** done. Sort of cleaning up/organizing my life better. That way I will be ready to get back on the grind and rebound from this past sub-par month of poker.

Still gotta go to apple store and see what's up with my laptop, it won't even turn on lol rip

any laptop recommendations for if I need to buy a new one?

debating whether or not to try and go the entire month without checking results, would make for pretty bad thread updates though

brought my laptop to apple store today, waiting on their diagnosis and we shall see whether or not I have to buy a new one, hopefully not...

on the poker front, these past two weeks have been piss poor, unbelievable cd and just running badly, even when I really focus and play my best, the runbad seems to discourage me

on top of that, now my PT4 won't work and doesn't open, it says unable to connect to postgres and then all my configurations are fine, no idea how to resolve it but it is extremely frustrating

Out of the blue my PT4 started working again...
Anyways, decided to check how I was doing on the month since it has been dreadful these past 2 weeks. Running like ****, can't win a flip, blahblah etc.

I have made some marginal mistakes here and there, but for the most part it's running into top of opponents ranges constantly, you know how that story goes.

past few weeks/month have been sort of mentally tough, but I find the fact that I've been lifting weights has added to my overall happiness and in return, I'm not solely focused on seeking success via poker

I know that could be arguably a reason why I'm not doing so well, but honestly, I have gone through these stretches previously, it will turn around.

fired up a sesh today played the entire thing straight with a 5 minute break to get water
was 2-3 tabling the entire time and the beginning was rough, played a reg for 15 games and he ran like god vs me and I was pretty frustrated, although I kept with it and I'm glad I stuck it out, overall good day

I have been grinding pretty hard this week, pretty happy with my play and effort. Apart from that, went to the gym twice and played soccer once. Will be going to the gym tomorrow as well. Probably won't be as much poker as I'd like this weekend since I need to study for a midterm and write a paper for next week!

Well a bunch of images from my imgur are now no longer working which is kind of ****ty, but wtv. I must have deleted them while cleaning up my imgur account :/

On another note, listened to new Kanye West album TLOP and was not really a fan, but I did like a couple songs such as famous. I have been listening to a lot of Majid Jordan instead and find it to be rly good vibes.

Apart from that, I worked hard and got my school stuff done so I will be free for next 1.5 weeks and can play some poker and dfs. Not overly happy with how my paper/midterm went, but I think I'll be okay. Might not play today as I plan to take it easy. Might not even go to the gym today and just go Thursday/Friday instead.

Oh ya and I received an email saying that FTP is going to merge with Stars come April. Not sure how I feel about it, but I guess adapt or die.
