Wow, how did I miss this for a whole 7 days

Read your previous thread a couple of times, very inspiring.

gl with the grind!

ps: if you had a ~25k$ roll and playing on your own, any thoughts on what your schedule would look like? (hypothetically not able to play on .fr/888)

hard to say what id do with a 25k roll as the schedule has just changed. id try not to let stars be your focus though. i feel with the new schedule theyve really alienated people in the 25k roll range . i can let you know after i get a better feel for whats going on. i think schedule optimization is something im good at

man today was another day of cards. i thought grand disappointment is what id be writing about, but i managed to pull through in the end. started off with a f2t in the 109 12k, direct bubbled the lightning when i got pretty owned where a guy check backed a FD on flop and overbetshoved river after betting turn. i had a straight i played sneaky, but that one stung a little bit. i hate to bubble tournaments that shouldnt be possible to bubble given the stacks. ft bubbled another small 100fo as well. session got started great after that during peak. managed to get into day2 of winamax major in the last chance turbo, where i ended up finishing f2t which was pretty sad. built a huge stack in the crocodile and lsot a cl flip with 15 left. had a great stack in the 109BB and was cruising along until i couldnt win with ak 2x so there was a 24th. not too worry i was crushing the uppercut on party, but ended up finishing f3t after i c/r triple barrled it off with 97 on T824K (he made the call with 83ss he raised from the co or hj). so i was left with really just a few small turbos which bricked, and a 100fo on a euro site. FT bubble was nasty in that one. it went on for 30min and i was fortunate to be at the table with 5 shorties. the other 5 people at the other table had everyone at my table covered. good reg at other table ends up losing a huge flip and i sneak in as 8/9. icm suicide proceeds all around. and i find myself 3/3 with 9bb. manage to chip up, double aa v a4, then double off the 2nd place stack at v a9. got hu with bigstack him having 2:1. he offered a deal but i really didnt like what i saw 3 handed, so i decided today was my day to fight. HU went my way to say the least. all the 3bs worked, as did my triples. shipped for 5kish euros which was a nice cherry on the top of my already eventful day

really thought today would be a lot bigger given all the sweats, but i cant complain when i build that many stacks in fun tournaments and win moneysssss. 1 tabling the 33 20k on bcp, but im pretty hungry, so heres to hoping this one doesnt drag on forever

tomorrow last day of my weekly grind then headed back up to SD. excited to get started on some coaching this thursday. liking the way i have things scheduled, although scoop/wsop is bound to throw all of that out of whack

hahaha oh man, those were the days. I dabbled in hearthstone for a bit, but ended up quitting as it was taking too much time away from poker/studying. Definitely a cool game but very time consuming.

had great time off. went over some friends HHs from recent huge scores to prep for scoop coming up. really looking forward to the scoop grind

today was pretty blah. but i do still have 2 tables left. i got 11th stars 109 25k, and 9th in a big 109fo on party. i was 1/6 in a 100e 6m on winamax but ended up taking 3rd after losing every allin and showdown and my big bluff not working. eventually one of these c/r triple barrels will go my way. i was really happy with my play today yet again, think theres going to be a big money sunday coming my way soon. 7.5kish in cashes, slight profit ( winrate through the ****ing roof. )

Can you take your dog to Mexico?

yea my dog comes to mexico with me on the weekends. my gf mostly takes care of it when im grinding, but i take every opportunity i can to bring her out for a walk before/after a session. and i lure her to sit on my lap while i grind with beef jerky

ended up 1 tabling the 55 50k on wpn last night for hours to bust in 14th. that tournament has a ridiculous structure. its crazy how good it is. think this was hour11 when i busted

woke up today and got started on the slowwww monday grind. as it turns out, my day was anything but slow.

i ft'd an early 109 on PP and had a huge CL until i decided to river c/r bluff the 2nd place stack it was a weird hand where i think i took the worst line i could have to try to make him fold. although i still like my line better than fold river:

defend A5o from BB versus HJ raise 8 handed 35ish effective
823r. i check call. turn 8x completing the badugi. check/check. river 6x. i check. he bets 20% and i shove it in his face. he took forever to call with KK

i think i should just lead the turn and stuff the river in his face. ended up taking 6th. also took 5th in another party mtt where i was 1/7

had 3 FTs on a smaller network and took a 2nd, 5th, and 1st in 3 rebuy tournaments.

then i just shipped a small 30 euro turbo on the french sites winning 44 v JJ hu and coming back from 1.1bbs 6 handed

feels good to start the week off with a bang. i need all the monetary reinforcement i can get with SCOOP/XL/Powerfest on the way

played very little stars volume today. im not even trying to be a grouch or a hater, i honestly just dont think thats where the money is anymore.

in other updates, being back in america has been amazing. its crazy how far america has come in the short time ive been away. i racked up a $700 amazon order the other night and BOOM, straight to my door. the next day, i found out about primenow. im not even sure how this is real. you can get delivery within 2 hours for free on all items in the store. and if you need it sooner within the hour, you can pay $7 to get it right ****ing NOW. holy ****, ive been living in the stone age down here in TJ

had a great night out at tap tuesday with gramps and 0desmu

took a rough one for CL 12 left in b215, and pretty much bricked all day, so a night of drinking was in order for me.

upon driving up to plaza fiesta where all the tasting rooms are, i saw a bunch of mexicans protesting. in my mind, i didnt care what they were actually protesting about, i just pretended they hated the new stars schedule and payout structures as much as i do

the only spot to drink good beer in rosarito, just opened a TJ location. so we stopped in to check it out. luis and the guys at beer nights are really awesome. and really like the new spot. they had an old school atari setup on an even older school TV. the game selection was incredible:

the joystick was a little off, and i totally sucked at my first go at asteroids. gramps was convinced that i might be trying to hustle someone into a bet with how poorly i was playing. little did we know that he very well might be the best asteroids player of all time. so much respect for the guy. he sat there and killed it. the game probably went on for 10 minutes before he started to draw attention. 0desmu was convinced that what he was doing wasnt very hard, and i offered him 5:1 he couldnt get half of gramps score (he quickly bought out). gramps ended up quitting after the score reset at 100k and he still had 9 lives left, otherwise we still might be there. his technique and strategy was flawless. you dont get 10mil lifetime VPPs without being a good button masher, and he really just showed us all up. he switched hands throughout, allowing himself breaks to rest while manning the joystick 1 handed

was just the start

this is about where 0desmu had to buyout

rest of the night was good. met some pretty interesting people. came back home and woke up after only 2 hours of sleep. was pretty restless and watched a movie trying to fall asleep. then around 6.30am the upstairs neighbors started hammering and drilling god knows what. its been going on for 3.5h now. the noise is so loud its hard to think, sleep, or concentrate. i wont be able to play today due to lack of sleep, and general frustration with this whole lolmexico situation. i did rework my HUD for SCOOP and fired some 100nl zoom just to test out everything and make sure it was in working order, managed to book a small win over 2500 hands (i was still kinda drunk and zoom is addicting lol, i didnt know when to stop). setting up a new DB with the hands i feel are relevant now. and if the noise stops, ill try to get some sleep and maybe review a tournament or two

ha, that reminds me. There is a pub (closing soon) with a old TV hooked up with Super Mario Bros. 3. Only thing I did when I got there, playing racoon mario after several "Mexikaner" (basically bloody mary abstraction) and vape hits.

tube tvs are the ****.

I love the old Atari pictures. Brings back some good memories. I didn't even know they made Centipede for the 2600. If you ever want to get rid of that one you can send it my way. And if you're ever in Pennsylvania in the US I challenge you to a throw down game of Kaboom!

You also seem to be pretty good at this poker thing too lol. Keep on keeping on.

yea we def gotta do something after scoop to let loose jdawg. should have a big night out with everyone in the rosa/tj area that is interested

cinco de mayo was fun. friend came to my place in SD with stuff to blend up pineapple+cacao+jalapeno margs with coconut milk. spicy margaritas might be my favorite drink in the world. was lit after just 1.5, although we did add a whole bottle of tequila into the blender . played some wii sports to enjoy the buzz. my tennis game isnt what it used to be. drove to mexico at night and did an early mothers day with my GFs mom at our favorite place in rosarito (susannas). they make a very good jalapeno marg as well, though its not quite on par with the habanero margs at el grill in tj.

didnt really plan to play today as i thought id be in san diego. but landed babysitting duty with my dog as my girlfriend is on a work trip this weekend. so im in tj as i wouldnt be able to walk across the border with my dog on saturday, and i dont have a car.

the games today were the best ive seen them all year probably. lots of overlays, and not many regs. makes sense since a lot of people are preparing for scoop and resting up. managed to win the breeze on 888, put on an absolute clinic, so that one felt really good. 9th in the hot109. got 7th in a party 109. 4th in a 50e on .fr. and a few more cashes. was cl in the party HR for a long time which i normally dont fire on weekdays, but i couldnt resist the overlay. didnt end up cashing, but it was a good tournament. played a bit bigger than my usual timbey grind today, so only made a small amount of profit, but money is money and im ecstatic with the way i played.

post grind was a lot of fun. took my dog on a walk to the food trucks and went to the park.

think im going to skip tomorrow. will grab a nice brunch, get a haircut at my favorite place, and try to relax for the incoming grind on sunday and beyond. have a few friends coming to grind SCOOP sunday with me as i have a place in mexico, so that should be a lot of fun to be surrounded by other HS players versus grinding by myself as i usually do

have a small bit of action left for the Scoop Hs this weekend if anyone is interested. package is over in the MP if anybody wants a sweat
