Have you posted anywhere summarizing what happened during the crazy 300k or something makeup number you cleared? Think that was you. Would def be interesting to hear about what it was like going through something like that and actually coming out the other end.

i'm pretty upset the year is over. things are going to change fast next year. i lost winamax this week. GG. i assume .fr is next to go with .cz regulation (GG#2). microgaming announced rake on rebuys and addons (GG#3). 888 rewards are going away tomorrow which sucks since i'm vip and was getting a decent chunk back (GG#4), and we dont know what stars is going to do (GG#5). just adding up the first 4, it is about 30% of my annual earnings this year, which will be tough to move forward from.

i'm very happy with the way the year went, but it is a real shame i just cant keep doing the same thing. adapt or die they say...

plan to have a few drinks and celebrate until about 12.30 tonight and get in the kickoff on a latereg. started drinking a reserve glenfiddich a few hours ago to get warmed up. pretty stoked to start the new year and take advantage of every opportunity left, because i truly believe our days are numbered.

hopefully 2017 will be a profitable year on the tables where i am able to put away more money into savings and investments. i have more than enough for a bankroll, but it is time to start looking towards the future more and putting extranenous funds into +ev spots. i plan to attack the games pretty hard, i dont exactly know which ones yet, but the adjustment phase should be fun. i dont think my goal in regards to scaling will change though

if i cant replicate results/routine similar to the trajectory i was on this year, i think it might be time to try re-skill in my extra time and look elsewhere. i have no interest in transitioning to live. while i have remained more optimistic than most about the dwindling future of online poker, the constant slashing of game liquidity really has me down. i still enjoy grinding a lot, but i dont think i could continue as a hobby. i think i have a lot of transferable skills to other fields, but obviously would need several hundred hours of specialized learning

luckily, everyone still pretty much sucks and i'm glad that i am able to hammer out a strategy that seems to be beating the fields. and even people who are good at poker in terms of playing, dont really understand a lot of things about making money in tournaments. had a nice talk with pgc favorite jdawg last week about how people more skilled than us can make a lot less just because the way they approach things.

ill try to play the same hours this year, but spend less time in mexico. i'll look to play more on bovada/bcp when i'm in SD during the week versus watching movies and tV at night. i look forward to becoming a better runner again. i'm already back up to running 5+ miles continuously since getting the treadmill installed. got a new tennis racket for christmas, so that will be something else to venture further into. unsure of travel plans for 2017 aside from france in feb (but really want to venture off, torn between chilean patagonia and tibet/nepal right now)

i'll try to play as little live poker as possible, but might get roped into it if the summer games die off entirely. i hope to make my swaps tons of money this year, as they were kind enough to send me piles of cash in 2016

Spoiler:
is my bottle of scotch half empty, or half full?

also in spirit of the new year:

i will give 1% of my sunday million to the next 5 posters

the 6th poster will receive a $100 freeroll to a charity of their choice if i dont complete a half marathon in 2017

the 7th poster will receive a $100 freeroll to a charity of their choice if BTC hits at least 1500 at ANY point in 2017

the 8th poster will receive a $100 freeroll to a charity of their choice if my weight is not below 180lbs at the end of 2017

the 9th poster will receive a $500 freeroll to a charity of their choice if i win a live tournament with > 200 runners

the 10th poster will receive a $500 freeroll to a charity of their choice if i win a scoop/wcoop

happy drinking tonight lads! see you bright and early . repeat posters not counted. valid until the posts reach 10 after mine
gl figuring out the best strategy for this year!

i kinda took a similar hit back in september 2k15 when almost all sites were gg for Romania except PS and 888 and was also having an above average year grinding on 12 sites and since then still can t figure out similar trajectory/comfort zone

very curious about the conclusion in jdawg convo

gogo

so the year was def very good to me

I'm very sorry to hear that you are getting older

I too have put on a bit of age lately and I also have few niggling issues with comfort. I found I have solved many position/mouse issues with quite a simple solution.

I sit at a good desk with a good chair but still found some arm and hand pain. When playing poker I now simply place a thin kitchen cutting board on my legs and put the mouse on it. This leaves my arm and hand in a much more comfortable, natural position while playing and I don't seem to get any pain.

We are all different and what works for me very often won't for others but it is basically free to grab a board from the kitchen and try it.

Anyway - best of luck with the future and may you age well.
