@ferdilicious tx for your advice, joining staking is definitely a viable option.

@ maverick i have a player group on sharkscope : onel4play

@zanardi
tx for your words..I agree with what u say..however all the things u say there i have done plus many more other things..i improved a lot to the point that i feel my game is one of the best at low-mid stakes and definitely among the better regs at midstakes. My game is not my problem. Yes many people make this mistakes of blaming variance and dont concentrate on their game, however i have concentrated many hundreds of hours in the last year towards improving my game(it`s all in the blog) and i have never stopped continuing to look for faults in my game. MY GAME IS NOT THE PROBLEM. If you would of payed close attention to what i posted in this blog since its start u would of known this.

The main reason of this mental breakdown is that even though i did ALL the things that u think get people out of this hole, plus many more other things (worked on nutrition, mental game, great coaching etc etc) i am still hitting lowpoint after lowpoint, in spite of maintaining top winrates. So yeah this is just variance and it is scaring how big it can be, it is so scaring that this quitting thoughts appear and become more and more proeminent.

Solid post, man. Regarding the mental burnouts you've been having recently, I recommend you give Elliot Roe's "Simple Volume System" a try. I found several mental roadblocks i didn't even know existed and it upped my solid volume quite a bit. Gl.

How would you feel if this 50k downswing wouldve happened while being backed and you are 50k in make up and compelled to grind it back? The community feeling etc is nice but you can have that with poker friends as well.

@aliku tx for the video, it was definitely not a waste of time to watch it

@ anon yeah, i guess you`re right..this is actually one of the reasons i didnt get involved in being staked until now.

So as i said i took last week off, had 2 appointments of 1 h. First was with my technicall coach and the 2nd one was with J. Tandler. After the discussions with them and after a small trip far from civilization i took some decisions and figured how and what i want to do next.

So Poker is still in the books, obv. If i am still being Ev oriented(and this is how poker should work in the end) i will just burn a lot of money if i will quit. Adding the fact that i still enjoy playing poker and can see myself doing this for years to come it`s really a no brainer. However after i talked with J. Tandler i decided to make some changes into my schedule.

I will play 3 days/week, preferably Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday. I will actively study at least 4 hours on Tuesdays. I mean actively studying, not just calculating hands and stuff but trying to learn something new, improve weak areas of my game . Even if i watch a Vid i will take notes on it, etc..U get the point.

I will then have at least 3 days and a half for other things, and by other things i dont mean just relaxing and stuff. I mean i will look for more opportunities for the youtube Project and i will start learning about editing videos. Basically i will change my program so that Poker will not take as much time and even if things go wrong i have plenty of time to recoup and i will use this time in order to develop or improve a new skillset.

I will also try to reestablish old poker connections and maybe get involved more in the
poker community. I dont know about other people, but in the past i have encountered many shady people and i somehow generalized that kinda all poker related connections are shady. But that`s just not true and i see how it`s very important to have someone to talk to and be part of a study group maybe. So if there`s a serious group outhere that wants to make a +ev addition to the group please PM me .

I will update this blog more often and by that i mean 1/week. It`s not that difficult and i believe it will help me to be more organised. Also i will set some specific goals for every week + monthly goals.

So let`s do this!

Goals for next week (10.04-17.04) :

-3 super quality sessions
-4 hours of active studying + calculating all marked hands
-6 hours of learning editing videos
-6 hours spent just for looking for youtube oppotunities, while 1 tabling a session doesn`t count.

This will do for the first week, will see how it goes and how i feel about adding other goals, maybe some non-work oriented ones.

Hey How is it going? Time for an update..Actually i am a bit late.. 10 days late..OMG am i pregnant ? ) . Nope..just lazy..or am i lazy?!

So...after the great enthusiastic above post..with all those great plans and goals..what do u guys think happened?

Yes, contrary to your beliefs i kinda did all the things i planned i will do, besides posting 1/week ofc.

3 super quality session/week : I dont know how super quality the sessions were, but they were quality sessions mostly. No , no real money made yet..but who needs real money when u can have ev $ ?!

Regarding studying i can say i am back to studying a decent amount. I m not sure if i studied exactly 4 hours every week (especially since i was away 5,6 days for easter) but i did calculate all my marked hands and watched at least 4 Rio videos.

The biggest progress that i made however is in Youtube . I started learning editing videos and photos (thumbnails). Actually my partner in crime, encourangged me to start my own channel . Nothing to crazy just some small android gameplay, but with the right amount of effort and with a lot of patience i believe i can make it work in the long run. Especially since i can promote it through the main chanell. In the end even if it doesnt work out, i am still developing editing skills , skills that should come in handy later. So i think i spend at least 3,4 hours daily into this new + old youtube project, which exceeds by quite a lot the target of 12 hours/week.

My girlfriend gets also involved a lot in this new youtube project. Actually she is a much better thumbnail maker than i am and we are both learning and doing new stuff everyday . So i am very optimistic about this project, and i have to thank my partner for this suggestion. He started by his own a similar channell 6,7 months ago..and i was very pesimistic about its potential succes, but this month he started having a pretty big succes.. It realy meant a lot to me that someone thought about helping me for no reason especially since i dealt with a lot of shady people last 2 years..

With that being said i dont think i will continue with this weekly goals..instead i will write some monthly goals and see how that goes.

Bottom line is that inspite of the fact that the poor run continued i dont feel as stressed out as i used to since i have a pretty big time to recover . Also i feel again that i am doing the right things since i gone back to studying a decent amount, and of course a lot of this enthusiasm comes from this new project. It`s not goint to be easy at all, and it might take months before i make reasonable $, but as i said, even if it doesnt work out i still develop some skills and i am motivated to keep learning..Also a very important thing is that i believe it strenghtens the connection with my GF.

Gll all heroes!!!

Hey everybody! How`s it going? Yes..i am late...again...There was a bunch of times when i wanted to post..initially wanted to make a nice pre Scoop post..that would of included my preparation, expectations goals yadda yadda yadda..then i wanted to post something during Scoop, then after..and here i am forcing myself to make time and post...

What i`ve been up to?! Well i can start by saying that i played close to 60,70% A game during Scoop..and i am completely fine with that since the rest of it was mostly B and B- game. Havent binked anything in Scoops..but i did have my first solid winning month in over a year lol..How does that sound?! Had a +6k month which is fine i guess..Finished 4th in the Big 109 despite being 1/6 with 2.5x more than 2nd place..Felt really bad after that one..especially since i didnt lose too much of it aip, but i guess running bad postflop could be in the books..Didnt have time to review it properly , but i do have all next week reserved to review my Scoop period play.

I have been really busy lately with my Youtube Projects..I try not to be neglijent with the main channell, which btw right now assures close to 70% of my living expenses and hope that number to go up to 80% in the following months. With that being said my main focus has been my own chanell(excluding Scoop) and i have been constantly putting in work alongside my GF. We didnt hit any viral videos but as i said it`s a pretty long process and it may take some months before i start making any considerable money out of it. My Youtube Partner`s chanell however is hitting viral after viral and it`s on a big big upswing which is great ofc and it could be really good for my chanell aswell.

Oh yeah , i forgot to mention that we`re closing in on 100k Subs in the Main Chanell, 96k+ at the moment. Probably in 2 weeks we`re gonna get there...Hopefully things will continue this way in poker aswell..Why not?! Why not a 6 figure 2017?! I think i deserve it..anyway..results aside..i have to continue with the poker grind this summer since games are pretty soft....I`ll play 1,2 sats for Barca aswell..just in case

This is it..i have to go now..I have another 20 videos to edit, schedule, make thumbnails, before i go away 4,5 days for one my best friends wedding.

Hello Everybody...It`s time...It`s time for closure . I know for some of you this might come out the blue, but it is what it is. I will take a break from poker.

This is not a rushed decision, it`s taken after many sleepless nights and after many hours spent trying to figure out how i can adapt my life in order to resist to this downer. However there are almost 2 years now since my last upwards spike and it`s been a pretty rough downhill since then. Enough is enough.

I feel very bad because i have to make this decision but it`s for my mental and phisicall health. There are just too many things that i don`t controll in poker and too many people that rely on me in my real life.

I tried for the last 40 days to play 3 days/week and focus on Youtube the rest of the days..And it worked in the sense that i would have enough time to recover after a bad session. However in this time i felt i was halfassing pretty much everything and that`s just not how i like to do things.

With All This being said i still BELIEVE i will come back and i strongly WANT to do it. Unfortunately i cannot guarantee that will happen and more importantly i do not know when it will happen. It will happen when i will feel comfortable enough with my monthly earnings and when i will be 100% not relying on Poker for a living.

In the end i would like to say that i am gratefull for what i have learned through all my poker carrier, especially for what i have learned during the downswing. It`s been all worth it and i am such a stronger person now. Even taking this decision took a lot of courage and i believe this is a proof of my inner strength. Sometimes we have to do things that we dont want to and this is one of those things.

1...2...3.

3 Years and a few months. This is how much it took me to get back haha. Not sure if anybody is still around for this thread...but...I can definitely say I AM BACK and planning to revive this thread - at the very least it will be my personal journal .

I am planning to make a big big biiiiig update post in which I'll detail as shortly as possible my last 3 years. It should get juicy.

But for now...I just want to play some Poker. And stream it. If somebody wants to follow a Fish trying to bluff the regs - you can do so here - twitch.tv/onel4play. (Hope this is not against TOS)

Looking forward to making the introspective post of my last 3 years, what I tried, what I failed at, what I succeeded in...and of course...my thought process in each decision that led me to this post.

p.s: I kept my promise true to myself. I'm playing Poker only because I have my life sorted financially outside of Poker. Let the Fun times Begin!

Now...as promised let me give you an update of what happened in the last 3+ years and how come I decided to play Poker again.

Lots of things happened...I don't really know where to start...but I guess I'll take it in chronological order.

I have lots of things to share with you, but first I will talk about the financial side of things...

So...First thing that I did was to start a youtube channel. I chose the Fifa Mobile niche, just because it seemed a very low competition and high potential niche. I also enjoyed playing the game, I had a bunch of experience from the Romanian channel that I was managing...so yeah. I did it.

Learned lots of new things...like editing videos, photoshop for thumbnails...nothing too crazy...but skillz that definitely come/can come in handy at any point in time.

I amassed in one year over 50.000 subs, unfortunately due to the way the algorithm was built, and due to the large fanbase of Fifa Mobile being outside Tier 1 countries...i couldn't make enough money to feel happy with it.

So i decided to start a second Fifa Mobile channel...I know lol...It doesn't make sense...however in this one I would be creating videos without facecam and me speaking...just with captions and gameplay...these videos would get suggested much more than the previous ones...adding non-english speakers also to my viewership.

I quickly become one of the top if not the top Fifa Mobile youtuber...with over 2.5 milly views per month. Unfortunately CPM rates for gaming are rather low...so I couldn't make more than 25-30k per year. This, plus the fact that the game got worse and worse and didn't have the exponential increase that I originally thought it would have...made me quit it 5 months ago.

Leaving aside youtube, since I am in the social media grind...I built some Facebook Pages...One of them is the reason why I quit youtube and why I started Poker today...One of them has over 370.000 Followers and all of them are from Tier 1 countries.

This means...that reach is pretty valuable...So valuable...that with the right approach you can make lots of $. And...after 2.5 years of trying lots of monetising ways...I finally hit the jackpot...kinda...

I found a very good affiliate program...that I started initially promoting to my followers...It was good...like a couple hundred dollars per week...but that ain't no life changing $. However I had this idea to test some ads...and I did just that...and bingo...ROI was very good.

This happened in March...6 months later I hit the 100k Payouts Milestone. Sure this is not all profit...but ROI is around 80% so...yeah, I feel like I should be financially stable atm.

Sure...there are still bumps in the road...for example now I can't advertise on Facebook(hopefully this will change soon)...but I am confident that I can find solutions to pretty much everything that comes my way.

I tried lots of things in the past 3 years
...lots of ways to make money online...as passive as possible...although most of them proved not to be so passive lol...from Email Marketing...to Print-on-Demand...almost E-commerce...and I remember I almost quit Affiliate Marketing in February...but...I also remember saying to myself: "Just try one more time, just to give it your all" and that was the first week I made 1k$ since quitting poker.

I have many more things to share with you...and probably will...I just don't want to make this post suuuuuper long. I know having a long attention span it's rather difficult nowadays.

Now...why poker? why streaming? Well if you remember my last post, back in 2017...I quit not because I was not enjoying the game, not because I wanted...but because I felt forced by variation and because I wanted to do much better in life than I was doing, in all aspects. I also said I will come back when I will be financially stable. And I feel like I am.

Another thing that made me comeback was a session that I had in April or May, when it was like the first time I played in years and I actually came 2nd in the 109 BB for like 12k.

Sure I didn't play that good, but I still felt like I had an edge, and I do remember I used to have a very good edge. I had a few studying sessions with one of my buddies that never stopped playing...and although I feel he is better than me..I'm not that far apart...I think...lol.

I decided to try streaming, just because I want to motivate myself to play more poker and because WHY NOT? If I learned something in my lifetime, I learned to TRY IT ALL. No regrets and in the end you might achieve success. I also have some experience from all of my social media channels...so...yeah..decided to stream also.

Regarding the schedule..I'm not 100% sure, but will definitely stream on Sundays and Thursdays.

TLDR: Made 50k last 6 months outside Poker, so decided to lose it all in Poker(jk read the post if you want to follow me, it's not worth it otherwise).

I will stop here for now...but part 2 will come, in which I will talk about my Relationship with my GF, my charity work, future plans and some other random stuff that I forget right now.

Gll all wariors out there!

So here is part2, but instead of narrating what happened in the last 3 years in my personal life...I decided to focus more on my plans for the future and my current goals.

Two months ago I decided to donate 10% of my monthly revenue. I figured this because I felt I was lacking motivation and realised the new toys (car, vr set, airsoft gun etc) that I bought didn't mean too much long term. I believe I need to have a much deeper role on this earth and while I was reflecting what makes me happy, I always came up with this answer - helping others. This was valid through my time playing poker, through my youtube days and pretty much in general.

So after deciding it, and after actually doing it for the first time [Bought lots of winter clothes for the homeless, went out there and gave it to them...also found through a foundation a family in need and I personally went and delivered them food and other consumables they needed] - I became much more motivated to put in the work and do everything that I can not to procrastinate anymore and actually put to use all of my skills that I accumulated so far.

My schedule right now looks something like this:

1. Affiliate Marketing Ads - Review + Testing New Ones. This is currently my main source of income and I do it daily for 1-2 Hours Max.

2. 2-4 Youtube vids - Trying some different stuff on some New/Refurbished YTB channels. Takes me again 1-2 Hours to create/optimize all of them.

3. Organic posts on FB - This normally takes 30 minutes.

This is pretty much the first part of the day that on avg takes me 3-4 hours to complete.

Then I have a big 4h break in which I should have a 30-60 min workout, but unfortunately so far I skipped it like 90% of the time.

In the evening I have my 2nd part of the day in which i have 2 more activities.

4. Study POker/Review Hands 30-60 min.

5. Livestream Poker on Twitch or Real life Watch Parties of Football Matches on Youtube. So as you can see even more experiments for me. I want to play/stream Poker at least 3 times per week and at least 2 Football Matches Livestreams on Youtube.

I believe I still have the ability to earn good money while Playing Poker, and Since I have the Fifa Mobile Youtube channel pretty active still, decided to try and see how it goes with the Football Matches Livestreams. So far, from 3 streams, one of them was viral ( El Clasico one) so yeah happy with how things are goins so far.

These are the things that I strive for and that I want to do daily. One month in, I am really happy with how things are going overall. Not in terms of $ results, but in terms of work that I put in and EV.

If you have any questions, let me know. I am more than happy to answer them.
Also if you want to follow my journey on twitch you can do so here: https://www.twitch.tv/onel4play. I am definitely playing on Thursday's and Sunday's and I believe my 3rd day of choice will be Wednesday.

This is pretty much it so far. Will come back later this week with more quantitative goals for you to follow.
