Hey guys,

I'm a freshman attending UMass Lowell and I play a mix of tournaments and 50 to 100 NL hold em 6 max and HU cash on BCP. I started playing online seriously this year making 2 deposits of $50. The first was in February and lasted me about 2 months where I learned a bunch about the game through playing, reading 2+2, and watching YouTube videos. Once I busted my first deposit, I studied the game a lot more and realized the significance of bankroll management. I made my second $50 deposit in late April and have since ran it up to about $3.4k. Most of my winnings have come from binking big cashes in tournaments. I think I'm only barely beating cash games, but I'm not exactly sure because I do not have a HUD yet. I would like to eventually focus on one form of poker but I'm still figuring out what that will be. I feel I am better at tournaments at the moment but it is hard to put in the long hours and do well in school at the same time.

I want to try and update my progress a lot on here to keep actively learning and hopefully meet some people in a similar situation as me along the way.

I do not have a number in mind for how much I want to make this year, but I'm exited to see how I do. I love poker and it would be awesome to make some decent money from it.

Time to crush 2015, GL all!

Starting my first session of 2015 soon. Going to play a few tournaments and take my first shot at the $109 buy in, 15k gtd . Also going to play 1 table of 100NL HU cash, and will stop playing if I lose 1.5 buy ins. Depending on how the tournaments go, I'll play some 50NL 6 max. LFG

Not to be a downer, as you are probably much better than I am, but if you are not confident in your cash game why do you start at 100NL?

Good question. I play 100NL HU cash because I have a pretty good feel of when to stop if I'm losing. I should've clarified that I'm pretty careful to not play regs at 100NL and just wait to play fish. I'm up like 4 buy ins doing this in the last couple weeks, so I'm just going to keep doing that. If I go on a downswing, which I know is very possible, I'll stop and stick to 50NL.

Also, I'm not starting at 100NL, i have played tons of hands at 2NL, 5NL, and 10NL the last couple years, just haven't exactly made a lot of money from them.

Not off to a good start. Already busted the 15k gtd and the first hand I played of 100 NL I got it in pre flop with QQ vs TT, but a filthy ten hit the flop... A lot of poker left to play though.

Good luck I'll be following your thread. I'm in a similar place in poker as far as looking to become profitable long term in 2015. Goodluck!

Overall disappointing session to start the new year. Played about $200 in tournament entries and did not cash in any. Played a bunch of 100NL HU and ended up winning about $30 in what was a very swingy session. Also some standard USA poker site server issues that were pretty tilting and probably cost me some $.

Goiing forward I do not intend to spam what happens in every single session , but I will definitely post a lot of the journey this year.

Bankroll: $3273.71

Just submitted my first withdrawal request. I used the PAY2CARD option on bcp. Requested $350 and got charged a $35 fee. Hopefully all goes well and I get the money sent right to my debit card in a few days. I will update what happens.

Going on a ski trip this weekend so won't be playing any online poker until Monday.

Mike WPN's deposit options have been among the easiest I have EVER experience outside of the earliest days of playing poker online. I hope the withdraw goes just as smooth. I was wondering how PAY2CARD worked.

Yea I agree WPN is great with deposits.

My withdrawal request using the PAY2CARD option was canceled because my account isn't verified yet... I'll update when I get it verified and attempt to withdraw again.

Came back early enough from skiing that I was able to grind tonight. Right now I'm down $200 overall and have just one tournament left, the 1,200 gtd, $400 for first, 14 left im in 4th...

What I really wanna write about though is the hand that just busted me in 7th from the final table of the 4k gtd R/A...

I was 2/7 with blinds at 5k/10k. Was folded to me in the cut off with KTo, I min raised and bb (a solid reg and chip leader) called. Flop came TTQ rainbow, villian checks, I bet 10k, V raises to 26k, I call. Turn brings a 5, villian bets 26k, I just call again. River is a J that doesn't make the backdoor flush draw, and villian puts me all in (about a pot size bet). I tank for a minute and call, he turns over the K9 off for a straight to win the pot. Very, very tilting, but could I have gotten away from this?

Finished 2nd for $243 in the 1.2k gtd to end the night on a good note.

Still very tilted about how the 4k ended but that's poker.

Overall about even on the night.

Bankroll: $3,287.30

Playing the WPN $100k GTD next sunday and looking to sell up to 50% of my action. The buy in is $215. My sn is casper56. To keep things simple, I will accept only money sent directly to my BCP account, and will send money back through BCP if I win anything. I will give hourly updates on the tournament here if I get any investors. 10% minimum please. Thanks.

The last couple days I have played about 1k hands of 50PLO and have had a lot of fun. I am stuck like $100 but I am going to continue to play for a bit to see what I can do.

Haven't played any tourneys since 1/4. The next time I will is going to be Sunday 1/11.

With the $350 that I withdrew plus a smallish downswing, the BR is at $2,828.94

Also still trying to sell up to 50% of my 100k, please LMK, I got a good feeling about this one
