I did sell shares actually since it's outside of my roll, so had to split it but wouldn't have played it otherwise. Quite happy with the decision to sell %.
Soo besides the 4th place today I bricked everything else, however I'm still up a decent amount.
As far as my ROI goes, It's currently 48%, so I will check that one off my list as a succes
Day 13 (29/01)
Total winnings: +$721
Personal winnings: +$294
New roll:
$5497
Total winnings 2016: $3174
So I've decided to take out 1/3rd of my monthly profits out of my roll at the end of each month. This for the purpose of both my life roll growing, and me not moving up too fast when I go on a heater.
When I move up in stakes and moving up becomes less and less important I might increase this amount to 1/2 or even 2/3rd of my roll, but that's still miles away.
For this month I'll take out 397$ , leaving me with 5100$ in my bankroll.
My January goals were:
[x ] Buy-in for 2000$ per week minimum.
[x ] Keep my ROI over 50%
[ x] Grind 5 days per week, not more & not less
[ x] Start grinding between 7-8AM.
[ ] Find a local gym and go 3 times per week.
Exceeded my total buyin by quite a bit, especially this week, so happy about that for sure. Also definitely can't complain about my ROI, especially sinds my abi went up this last week.
Only missed one day of grinding, and I made up for it quite well later in the week, so given that I was simply too tired to play I can check that one off too.
When I started I was worried about not being able to get up early enough to start playing at 7, but I actually managed to start playing before 5/6 most days, so that's definitely a good personal accomplishment.
I've always told myself and others (teachers, parents etc.) that I'm not a morning person and that getting up before 10 is impossible for me. I stuck to that for a couple of years, and looking back at it that's simply a matter of immaturity from my part. So I'm quite happy to see that I'm not only improving as a poker player, but also growing as a person.
Last on the list is the gym, I've found a gym a ~10 minute walk away from me, but haven't really managed to go yet. My days have roughly been like this:
04:00 - Wake up, go to 7/11 for breakfast, shower etc.
04:45 - start grinding
13:00 - Ending session somewhere around this time, get some food and relax a little.
15:00 - take a 2-4 hour nap.
19:00 - get some dinner, then social stuff / studying poker.
23:00 - go to bed
It's just hard to fit in the gym somewhere around there, so I might start doing it in the weekends and find one evening for it during the week.
On the bright side, I gained 3 kilo's these last 2 weeks (I'm really quite skinny so I've been trying to gain some weight recently, while still eating 'healthy') and I did manage to do a small home work-out almost everyday. It's not the same as going to the gym but it's better than nothing.
So all together really happy with this past month, and also still really happy with the move. Also great to see that I've achieved most my monthly & weekly goals these first 3 weeks, since last year I only achieved my weekly goals 4 times in total, over the course of 6 months.
Febuary goals
[ ] Buy-in for $3000 per week
[ ] Play 5 days per week, exception for the week around my birthday
[ ] Keep ROI around 50%
[ ] Sell % every grind-day
[ ] Start doing some sports. Whether is tennis, the gym, golf, etc. Just get out and use my body in more places than my bed.
[ ] Weigh at least 63 kilo's while still eating healthy (currently 58).
Not sure how realistic/easy gaining 5 kilo's in a month is, since I know very little about this stuff. But if anyone has any advice on this please let me know.
The update has become a bit longer than I expected so I'll just finish it up with a little graph:
$ profit needed for goal:
$96,826
