That's really cheap for some fruit. Any more pics of your apartment and how everything looks? and a tidy view of your set-up ANTs = -EV.

Thank you for explaining the bb/100, how do you find a way to calculate it?

$100k seems a bit a lot too much for ur current situation, do you play live tournaments?

Will make the picture sometime this week, its dark now.

You can see the bb/100 in PT/HM, its a stat there.

Yea as I stated previously, it's a really ambitious goal, not impossible tho for sure. The main thing this year is for me to become as good as possible. If I only win 30k, which is roughly the same as last year, but I play higher stakes and crush them, I'll be happy as well.

So sunday was pretty bad, still have 1 table left with a pretty sweet stack
Basically bricked everything, made 1 cash for 20$ lol.
Ran absolutely sh*t, but also played too many tables which is really freaking stupid.
When I play 11-14 tables I start to auto-pilot, I don't feel like I start spewing that much but the main thing is that I miss a lot of good light 3b/4b/xr/barrel spots, which is going to cost me a loot of ev.
I should start out with some studying before my session session since my mind-set is too ev/$ based before I start.
It's stupid for 2 big reasons, first of all the obvious one: EV. Sure my $/hour is higher when I play 12 tables than when I play 8. However it costs me my ROI, which increases variance a lot, and more importantly it stops me from improving since I'm auto-piloting.
Second: I like poker because I like thinking about spots, solving hands & outplaying people. I hate mass-tabling (11+ is mass-tabling for me) and I always have, it just kills all the fun for me. In an ideal world I'd be playing a lot more live-mtt's since that way I think about every spot without getting bored. The problem is that when I play few games I get in less volume and I care about money too much, money doesn't matter.

Freerolls

So yea I don't like giving freerolls, but this way I have some external motivation to just focus on improving and not on money. So pick a day of this week, if I play >8 tables at any given time on that day I'll ship you 25$, whoever posts first gets the day.
Losing freerolls would probably cost me the extra hourly of playing more tables, so this should motivate me enough. A week of strictly <8-tabling will probably make me realise how good it is.

Positive things
Bb/100 was up for the day, won a 500bb pot with flush over flush tho so it's not really fair.
Another great thing was that I played very little on stars today, at some point I had 12 tables open (F*cking fish), and only one of them was on stars.
I'm glad I get this many games in on other sites, should increase my winrate and kill variance quite a bit. Don't get me wrong I won't skip a big22/h33 or any of the other good value mtt's, but besides that I'll target the smaller sites.

Anyways, got a 100bb top 20stack in the wpn game, long way to go but I'll just have to ship it.

Oh here's some monks watching a soccer game:

Pretty bad session today, played decently but ran like sh*t.
Started off with losing 2 big pots with AA and running TT into quad 8's, bb/ev dropped down and wasn't able to recover it from there on.

Two positive things are that I played 6-8 tables at all times & my abi is higher thanks to better gameselection. Out of the 22 games I played only 8 were on ps which is sweet.

Bricked everything but the 22BB where I mincashed, and got a 15th place thanks to losing AA<KJo PFAI in a 6r on wpn for a pretty big stack, would've been a nice daysaver.

Finally someone who understands how this works.

Not a lot to say about today, just been a world of pain. The amount of times I ran a pair into a higher pair is probably bigger than the amount of games I've played in total.

I said I wouldn't take any days off before Laos but this week has been absolutely brutal so I might just take a day off to regroup tomorrow anyway. If I feel like playing I'll play obv.

Played a miniscule session yesterday, trying to rebuild motivation/confidence by playing <5 tables. Got in a whole 10 tournaments, one of which was on party where the software stopped working and I got blinded out with a decent stack.

However I did manage to ft a 33fo on stars (love those afternoon 33's so much), and got a 3rd place for 500ish. So total for the day up a nice little 250$, feels good to have a winning day.

Will grind through the afternoon/evening today, again focus will be on few tables & playing optimally.

cz man - have you tried meditation or anything?

Yea last year I actually did when I still lived at home and played spins, actually really liked it since it made me a lot more focused. Don't know why I stopped doing it, partly laziness i guess.
Also I do feel like my life is more balanced since I moved out. I do more social activities, sports, just other things than poker, whereas when I lived at home I would just play play play. I guess that diminishes a need for meditation a bit, altho I should probably still use it in bad periods.

So yesterdays session was pretty good. At the start of my session a dutch player I know from Malta looked over my database to give me some pointers. Once again it showed that I was on the nitty side, he pointed out specifically where I can loosen up.
With that in mind I made sure that I played on the looser side yesterday. Ft'd a 22$ fo on party for 3rd place, 14th in a 5r on 888 & a deep run in the 33bb that bricked, decent bounties tho. All things combined it made for a -5$ day, can live with that.

So I rarely buy % in people since I'm a nit, but before i headed to bed I bought some % in a pokerbud who plays 5$ games, and he binked so that's a nice 300$ overnight. First time some cash is coming in in the last 1.5month

Taking today off like usually and playing tomorrow evening.

Did you play spins for a living for a short period of time? What did you mainly play in Malta?
I mean with meditation you do not need only do it when times are bad (yeah it can help) but just incorporating when you can increases your overall focus as it is. I'm aware you know what it is, but just being an annoying reminder to try meditate, see if your results have any differences ?:P

Again, great update happy to hear about buying some % and winning haha.

Yea I played them 'for a living' for about 4 months, including the first month in Malta. I say 'for a living' since I never made any profit from them besides a bit of rakeback. One month in on Malta I binked 9k at the EPT which really saved my ass since my liferoll was shrinking by the day. Because of this I was able to move away from spins etc.

I'll definitely try and get some meditation back into my life (I used headspace.com), to keep my mind at ease a bit.

Sunday

Resultswise had a pretty uneventful couple of days, had some deep runs in big fields with potential that bricked on sunday and dropped about 200$.
Played another session yesterday where I made a deep run in a big field 6m on winamax with 3k on top, got my 40bb stack in with AK v AA which I didn't take too well.
Managed to get my head back together and got to a ft in the 22$ deepstack on stars (Man such sh*t value compared to 22deeps on other sites, sat with 7 regs at the ft whereas on 888/party its rarely more than 2/3) but came in 8th. Had a bunch of tough spots around the ft/ft bubble so I have some reviewing to do today.

Overall even tho my results have been disappointing I'm really happy with my game.

My evbb is at 11 for this month so far. My amount of tables I've kept under 8 for the whole of last week, from now on I'll keep it between 6-10 depending on my focus/deep runs/etc. I feel like I'm getting a really good grip on the optimal amount of tables I should play.
Lastly I've been opening up my ranges a lot more after last week's db review and it seems to be paying off. I'll aim to keep my overall evbb around 8 this month, not sure how reasonable that is but considering that I had 6 last month I'd guess it's doable.

Mental game

The main thing I'm struggling with is the mental aspect, getting deeper into make-up is just really frustrating & bricking deep runs bothers me a lot more than it did before. It's just very demotivating for me to know how long it could be until I start turning a profit and with that increasing my life-roll, since I've definitely been spending more than I expected to do with all the trips etc.
Ordered the tendler books on mental game to try and work on this side of the game, besides that I think the break next week will also help me set my mind straight.

For now I'll start another session around 4 today, then my gf has a day off tomorrow so I'll take a day as well and then do a day-session on Thursday before leaving for Laos Friday morning.

Visa Run

Planned to take the night-bus to Laos but after hearing all the horror stories, the amount of accidents happening and seeing the video of last weeks bus-train crash I figured I'd rather just go by plane.

Flying to Udon-Thani on Friday and will take the bus from there to Vang Vieng. Then on sunday I'll head to Vientiane & stay there until Wednesday at which point we'll head to Khon Kaen to celebrate song kran.

Pretty excited for the holiday, I should add that this is the first time in like 1.5 years that I won't be playing a single hand of poker for more than a week .

Just a thought have you thought about getting a education visa?
You could sign up to some kind of language course, get an edu visa through them, go once or twice a week for a couple of hours so you'll learn the language too.

With an edu visa you don't need to bother with visa runs, you just go to immigration every now and then and get it renewed, and sometimes you have to do a small test but it's pretty easy.
