Would be a tough choice. I really love poker and both online & live have their merits. I enjoy live poker for the casual atmosphere and inconsequential banter. Online for the constant reg battles and struggles to be the top dog at your stake. It's definitely a seesaw. If it wasn't for the 3.5 hour commute to the casino, I'd def be there more. Right now it's 90% online 10% live.

I'm back at the table now and pretty sure Chris Moneymaker is sitting in the 6 seat. Did see him stream PSNJ tournies, I wonder if he's here for good now.

For dinner I tried out a sushi place here called Izakaya. They specialize in tapas and americanized sushi rolls. Overall a nice place, but serving second tier food at top tier prices.

Storefront

Lobster & crab tacos - 6/10

Salmon Roll - 7/10, Tuna Crunch - 5/10

Miso Black Cod - 9/10 The redeeming dish of the night. Quality is on par with Nobu's signature dish.

Good stuff! What is game quality like compared to Vegas rn if you don't mind discussing that (understand if you don't wanna talk about it).

Borgata is significantly softer, esp during WSOP when the best regs are all at Vegas. Downside is that 5/10 rarely runs Mon-Wed

Walking between casinos here is also much different than In Vegas

Another -$300 day. Had a savant 80 VPIP older gent at the table that was hero calling 3 streets with A high/bottom pair and vbetting J high flush on 4-card flush boards. Surprisingly he was right all three times. The gent eventually amassed a $10,500 stack(~1,050bb stack).

Luckily I never even attempted to bluff this gentleman so he spared me from his hero calling rampage. Was up ~$1k around 10PM when this tilting hand happened:

UTG meh reg limps $10
Savant Whale CO raise $40
Hero BTN calls Jd9d
UTG meh reg calls

Flop:

AdTd8s

UTG checks
Savant Whale bets $100( his standard 100% cbet)
Hero raises to $300
UTG coldcall $300
Savant calls

Turn bricks 2s, checks around

River 8d pot ~$1,030

UTG bets $450, Probably flopped2pair turned boat or a Kdxd/ Qdxd Flush

Savant snap calls

Hero tanks and sigh folds Jx flush giving UTG credit for the flop coldcall.

UTG flips over 9s2h for no draw no pair and whale wins with AcKh.....

Ended up donking another $400 off before I realized I was too tilted to continue playing. Kinda disappointed that I couldn't keep my cool. Ah well, there's always tomorrow.

Making hero folds like that, especially with how tiny he bet, def not a good idea

You might have missed the part where he cold called a flop raise OOP

To be fair. I think most bad live guys are turbo shoveling flop with set and 2pr. The kxdd and qxdd concerns are very valid, but you block many.

I don't hate the fold, but getting 5:1 I have trouble letting go too.

I've been playing exclusively all summer and I'm shocked with the atc people show up with in multiway 100bb+ pots. So I'm sigh stationing here

I don't mind the fold but what about raising more on the flop to push out bigger flush draws and your hand plays well against the original raiser? With the straight and flush draws I don't mind getting it all in on the flop against the whale.

We were 250bb deep, which was another concern. The whale cbet all pairs and Calls all top pairs to a raise, so at the time I figured a $300 raise into a $120 + $100 is pot is big enough.

Yeah I def gave the UTG cold caller too much credit, had him as a ok-reg prior to this hand. We were 200bb+ and my raise looks so strong vs the whale so I assumed he didn't want to get 2pair all in on the flop.

The first leg of our trip is about to end. I'll be Heading back to NY for July 4th celebrations and planning to be back in AC by Wednesday afternoon.

We played a total of 57 hours in 5 days (~11 hours per day). 16 of those hours were at $5/$10. Unfortunately the $5/$10 yielded a -$600 loss. Total profits for the trip is +$2,000, a bit less than I was hoping for given how soft the games were. Ah well, can't complain.

Besides exotic, also chatted with a nice online MTT player from England. Glad AC has some international recognition!

Looking forward to be back next Wednesday for the second half of the trip.

Day 2 +1,100

Dinner- N.O.W.

If you ask any Borgata regular what their favorite restaurant is, 9 out of 10 times they will say Noodles of the World. Truly a fantastic place. One of the few, if not only, restaurant in AC worth trying out.

8.5/10 Vegetable Fried Rice
