Highly recommend. It's honestly one of the best structured lower buy in tournies for the WSOP.

Only downside is that you will expect to play into 3-4AM if you do final table.

After an uneventful 8 hours we cash out for $895. Decided to check out the Bellagio instead, huge mistake.

Been here for 30 mins and still 10 people ahead of me on the list

Switched spots while waiting for my buddy for dinner. 3 hands in we get dealt TT and somehow got sucked into a 5 way 3bet pot and flopped a set to get in vs QQ and A4o.

+1,000

Alright, last full day in Vegas. Gonna try my best for a 5k+ stack.

Brunch at Bacchanal buffet:

Sitting in Ceasers right now playing shorthanded. Rake is only $3, pretty awesome.

Out for +965. These chairs are sooooo comfortable I wouldn't have left if not for the sudden urge for a mirage breakfast burrito. Also did see a rare 5/10 popping up there.

Hmm no 5/10 but there are two 50/100 PLO private games going on.Don't believe anyone on them are professionals. :/People in Vegas are loaded.

Edit: Tried to ninja a pic of one table. Covering up people's faces as one of the guys glared at me.

One day I aspire to be as baller as these people

Sadly our trip has come to an end. The last two days were some crazy rungood. In the last and final session of the trip, we were able to book another $1,500+ session. This brings us to +$5,400 on the last two days of the trip. More than enough to dig us out of the -$3,000 hole we put ourselves in earlier in the week. Thanks everyone for following!

Final session: In for 1,000 out for 2,506

Total tally:

-$565 Colossus
-$265 Daily Deepstack
+$3,400 Cash Games
-$80 Slots & Table games

Misc - Mirage Poker Room food

Great trip, nice to see people blogging their Vegas trips.

Any way we could have a list of the best and worst food you had?

Whilst Jimmy is the king of Vegas food and I'm sure you followed many of his recommendations still interested in what you would have over anything else etc.

Best food? Hmm. I lean towards buffets so here's a list from best to worst

Umiya (9.5/10)
-Hands down the best AYCE I've ever had.
-Their non-sushi selections are the nuts. Highly recommend the oysters, soft shell crab, and seared Tuna appetizers + fried ice cream tempura.
- -0.5pts for meh decor and strip mall location

Aria (9/10)
- Freshest Crab Legs you can find (the meat stays together when you pull it out of the shell)
- Dessert section top notch
- Asian section pretty bad, Do not eat the sushi it's garbage

Wicked Spoon (8/10)

-Decor and ambiance is one of the best
-A ton of really fancy and well made dishes
-Food overall will leave you content but not many "wow" moments

Wynn (8/10)
-Great Decor, very very very fancy
-Food selection is small
-Quality is above average but still some to go

Bacchanal/Ceasers (7.5/10)
-Really good selection
-Great Asian section
-Price is way too expensive

Bellagio Lunch/Dinner (5.5/10)
-Seafood selection are stale and not fresh
-Snow crab legs taste like salted canned sardines
-High price for low value, you're better off with any one of the above options at the same or lower price.

Luxor/Excalibur/Mirage (3/10)
- Imagine cafeteria food

Also honorable mentions for Poker Room Food:

Aria(9/10)
-Get the hot and cold sandwiches. They are sooooo good
-They bring you an iPad with pictures of all the food

Mirage(7/10)
-Used to have really good breakfast burritos but no more
-New menu is very fancy but the food is just okay

Hey man! Sorry for the somewhat late reply, when I read the post it was so detailed I thought I snap posted immediately.

Anyway thanks for going into so much depth. I hope you had a good time in Vegas and I'm sure many of us in PGC would like you to do more TRs if you so wish!

Food is atrocious in general. Although there are a few passable restaurants in the area. I'll try to hit up a few of them this trip.

P.S. the buffets here are garbage, their chef needs to be replaced.

In!

gratz for the online winnings!
where do you plan to spin it up? (you back to new jersey? is what I'm asking)

also, how are your results live compared to online? both in terms of hourly and how much you enjoy each?

Yeah I am back in Jersey. Honestly I was only in Vegas for the food & WSOP hype. The games are much much softer here at Borgata.

Coming from an online mass-tabling background, I had a lot of trouble getting used to the slow 30hands/hour. But the live games are definitely much more lucrative. Live reads also helps a ton and ( i.e. talking too much during a hand, telepathic bet-sizing). Nowadays I shift between them based on my mood. Live poker is def an ego booster with the 30bb/100 winrate.

Live $/hour is about 1.5x online, but about the same when you add in traveling.

Makes a lot of sense.

I'd also like to hit some live cash games more often, but here in europe, other than the traveling which can get quite expensive depending on what city you decide to drop by, everything else is expensive as hell.
In Switzerland, for example, a coffee/bottle of water can cost up to 5€ which is just dumb

Yes I also heard that the rake is very high over there. In Jersey it's only $10/hour timed rake and they give out free rooms liberally to poker players, which def helps with the cost of coming here.

There's a PG&C thread of a swedish player 'AlwaysMars'. You should check out his thread for some live Euro cash blogging.

Can't believe the amount of people checking into Borg today. Seems like the MLife transition worked and the whole army of retirees have migrated enmasse. Ended up playing a short session while waiting for a small +$300 win. Finally checked in and am gonna wash up before heading back into the battlefield.

Amazing weather in AC

Although I talk trash about the food here a lot, the rooms are quite nice.

Looks nice

Considering your background how much do you enjoy live vs online?

Do you find if you do too much of one you crave the other etc?
