Villain was like 23/16 and only 50 hands so didnt know much about him.

Im thinking if the villain has QQ or KK he is 3betting PF. I cbet the flop and villain goes for a min-raise in a multiway pot with 1 still to act making me think he is strong and has hit a set.

The board is very draw heavy, but being multi-way and with 1 still to act I think the villain would call with his draws here and wait to see the turn card and action.

Although I feel he has a set, he could have min-raised a draw. So I call to see the turn. Turn bricks and Villain continues with 75% pot bet making me think he has the set and it looks expensive to continue to find out.

Thanks. Yeh folded the turn, its only AA they will be back around to my holecards soon enough.

When I got min-raised on the flop I almost auto-piloted a big raise in. Then I took some deep breaths and got some oxygen to the brain to allow me to think, before realising something isnt right here then proceed with caution.

Hand 1

Villain is 18/15
1.4k hands
3bet: 7
Fold to 4 bet: 88%
5bet: 0

Considering I 4 bet him UTG+1 and he shoves it doesnt look promising. After the hand his 5bet range is 0.8% which is AA and KK, and I reckon he aint got KK.

Hand 2

Should I be folding on the flop here considering my equity is only like 16% if he has the set? 55 was literally the only thing I could put him on. Only had 200 hands on villain looked like a TAG.

Good for you. I ended up doing exactly that a few more times (auto-piloting big all in raises) and got stuck 3+ BIs on Tuesday. Ended up playing like a fit or fold NIT yesterday and it definitely shows in my non showdown hand graph.

Hand 2: Good read. Bad call for not trusting your read. Nice Suckout. I don't know if you can put him on exactly 55 though. Might he play A5 the same way or do you think he would flat your bet/3bet.

There was a chance he had a worse 2 pair, but I doubt he would have been that aggressive. I just felt he had the 55 but perhaps that was me fearing the worst rather than a read.

Card removal effects also make it less likely he has a worse 2 pair.

Maybe have a look through my database at how ive done when facing an all in on flop holding 2 pair, i reckon the majority of times i will have been facing a set.

Think the above post was playing on my mind during this hand. Ok Ive written a guide on how NOT to play 2 pair on the flop.

And when there is aggression 3 way and we have 2 Pair on the flop, the villain always has a set. Maybe this public embarrassment will encourage me to fold here in future.

Is he really a tag? I didnt know tags lc utg, but let's say he has 55 aa kk ak a5 in his range, its unlikely he still has aa kk ak as he should have reraise your ISO so that pretty much leaves 55 a5. Good read, what was his af?

Ok some hands to look at:

Hand #1
Poker Stars $0.05/$0.10 No Limit Hold'em - 8 players -

At this point I had several really big pots going down elsewhere and someone had just shoved on me on the river so my brain power was divided here.

12/10 Villain opens under the gun (also note his agg frequency is 60%). He had a 4bet of 70% so I didnt fancy 3betting and then playing a 4bet pot against somebody this tight with AK. Felt it would be one of them where I flop a K and villain has AA.

Anyway we CC in position (probably a mistake) and some other random player joins us and we go 3 way. Flop an A and the villain cbets flop and turn and the other random dude is still with us.

Villain then triple barrels and bets just over half pot on the river. Im thinking at worst Villain also has AK and im concerned the other dude is still with us and may have picked up 2 pair or better by the river. Usually when pots get this big AK is no good and neither is Top pair.

Hand #2
Poker Stars $0.05/$0.10 No Limit Hold'em - 8 players -

Villain is a fish. We bet flop and turn for value with TPTK. Thinking fish is coming along with a weak PP or a weaker Q.

River he donks into us 40 into 345. Im thinking he is either wanting a cheap showdown with something marginal or he is trying to play weak and entice us to shove over the top of him.

To extract some more value from all his weaker Qx hands and PP I make a small raise. Villain then "wakes up" and shoves the rest of his stack in. At this point im thinking he has hit 2 pair, Q,9

Standard fold?

Ugh looking back I dont like this hand. Similar to previous hand. Villain is a 37/17 fish AggF 1.5

When he shoves the river I think he has 6,7. It is also possible he had a missed flush or straight draw. Maybe TT or JJ. When they spring to life like that on the river is does make me wary.

[QUOTE=A_Schupick;41610263]I don't think you need to be quite that careful with your bankroll. I would even take a shot at 25nl right now. Just see what happens.

I think since your playing 12 tables than your playing the correct stakes, if you only play 1 or 2 tables move up in stakes

Hand 1 utg can also have 88 tt in his range
Hand 2 q9 sounds extremely likely, prob a good fold, fish are capable of slow playing also could've flopped two pair or set
Hand : fish is short stack so i may not like it but prob call him river anyway and note his like for his holdings

Steal attempt from the Button with Ax. BB decides to 3bet. Ive been thinking recently I need to start defending my button opens more widely.

Villain has a 3bet of 4.5. However his 3bet vs Steal is 13% and his 3bet vs Hero steal was 20% over 1.7k hands. I decide to 4 bet his wide 3betting range. Villain 5bet is 0.

When the action comes back to this table he has called the 4bet and moved the rest of his stack in on the A high flop.

I reckoned the villain had got in out his depth with a weak holding on the flop and was prob putting me on JJ,QQ,KK and he believed the A high board would scare me into folding. Doubt he is calling 4bets OOP with 55,99 and why would he hastily shove the flop with such hands? Same could be said if he was holding the AK why would he shove the flop, surely he would try to extract some value. At this point I can only put him on weak semi-bluffs and spazz out in a spot he wasent comfortable with and didnt know what to do?

Imo he could have a lot of Axs hands, including A5s and A9s, but yes, he wouldn't shove them, depends on the villain though, but flush draw seems the most likely. Well played
