Re: From 10nl to 100nl - The Blueprint

Just gonna publicly embarrass myself by displaying how NOT to play AK in the hope that I remember this for future reference. Starting to realise that a J or Q on the flop and perhaps a 10 in a 3 or 4 bet pot when we are holding AK is bad bad news.

Given that we have AK it makes the villains hand less likely to be AA or KK so JJ and QQ are more likely.

God bless AK on a FR table ..

Just there is to be shot at vrs any reg ... he folds every A or K flop unless hes hit his set or top two.

Win lots of small pots ..hardly ever win a big one with it !

Re: From 10nl to 100nl - The Blueprint

I seem to always start off by smashing things when I start a new limit. Used to think it was just good variance but now starting to think its because I bring my A game to the table and 10 times as much determination and concentration. Then when EV starts kicking me about the playground I start playing some weak C game material.

Thanks.

And also as a note to myself my turn cbet has been 59% for this period which seems to compliment my red line nicely.

Previously I have tried to get this stat down but just playing my natural game and not thinking about stats here seems to work better for me on the turn.

Re: From 10nl to 100nl - The Blueprint

Ugh feel bad about this, just ruined a session. Our old friend AK. Villain hands: 33 - Vpip 34/16 3bet: 8.3

In 3 or 4bet pots we shouldnt really be fearing that villain has flopped a flush all too often. So I thought it would be more likely that he is shoving with a flush draw or he is shoving with something mediocre in order to prevent me drawing to the flush.

Or when he raises all in here, should I realise he has it?

If it would have been any respectable reg I would have folded to that flop raise. Had I thought about it a while longer I may have folded, but i did call rather quickly as I felt his shove was coming as soon as I seen the board.

I think he could have showed up with all sorts here. Was hoping he had an A with some kicker T or J or something.

Wish I had folded now, doubt he was shoving this with anything I was beating often enough to make it worthwhile.

Oh well best to make idiot mistakes @ 10nl I suppose.

Ok I now officially dont have a job, so whilst I job search for something new I will have more time to grind out some Poker and do some learning.

Once I win 20 BI @ 10nl I will step up to the 25nl fight once again.

Almost half way there. Up nearly $100 or 10 BI and running @ 14 bb/100

Finished this session a BI up due to some emphatic non showdown winnings.

Hand #2

Every bit of logic in my head was screaming "FOLD FOLD FOLD" yet the message did not get to my fingers which decided to click on call. He could be pulling this with worse sets I guess, but I knew what he had and still called.

Hand #3

Was closing my tables down as this hand arrived. Villain was something like 33/11 and 3bet of 0 which made me very wary that I was up against either AA or QQ so I decided to call in position. I knew that Q on the flop was ugly, turn was prettier on the eye.

Subbed. On a similar path as you. Binked a couple of freeroll mtts back in November and have been grinding it up ever since. Found your thread because I'm thinking about doing a PCG thread of my own. Good luck.
