Time for a quick graph while my dinner is cooking.

Fiddy NL

Things heading the right direction. Made a couple tweaks to hotkeys to get my tables positioned in 1 key press. I reckon I can play more tables if I cut out time wasting tasks like positioning tables. I have also been playing a lot of sessions standing up recently and it feels like I can play faster doing so. Well they say you think faster on your feet. Ive been playing longer sessions the days I dont have DFS on so it gets uncomfortable sitting down for that long of a period.

Couple hands..

vs Unknown player. 16 hands and I think he hadnt VPIP'd anything yet. Was slightly worried he was some nit moving up from 25NL as Recs would usually be playing a few hands after that amount of time.

I was getting some trash talk from one of the Russians about my play so thought I would look things over. After the hand he was mocking my Turn bet sizing implying it made it an easy fold. With 2 villains in the pot I am not gonna be pleased if the River brings the flush or pairs the board. If I fire the turn here I am obvs strong dbl barreling vs 2 people so its not like my bet sizing is giving away I am strong here the dbl barrel already does that. I want them to pay to draw out on me.

Lol, he then goes on a rant and proceeds to rip half the players at the table before dissapearing. Maybe he is a 25NL Reg having the traditional moving up stakes runbad.

I dont know if my cold 4bet sizing gets pass marks there. At the time I was caught in between wanting to go a bit bigger but at the same time we were deep so I didnt want to put too much money on the table in case I get re-popped and jammed on by the Reg and have to fold.

On the flop I dont believe the fishy guy who donk jams. I am concerned about the Reg having JJ or even AJs but at the same time he might have AQs or QQ, KK. If he does have the boat I can still luck out and pair the board or the K. It was 29% to call and I had 20% equity with Reg having JJ and the fish blocking one of my K outs so I dont think I can fold there. Feel free to slate me if I am doing it wrong.

Speaking of slates I am down money in DFS for the Confed Cup so far. Today I had quite a bit of higher stakes Head to Head action. Some Fish Reg took one of my $109 h2hs and a $215 h2h.

You almost never see Fish sitting in the lobby for Soccer head to head games cos they get snapped up instantly. I checked today and seen somebody sitting in the lobby with 2 games @ $215 and 1 game @ $1060. He has the full experience badge which means he has won a lot of money on DK and played a ton of contests but I aint never seen him in Soccer contests before so I reckon he is a Baseball, NBA or NFL dude. I am defo not rolled to be playing $1k anything but for some reason (probs cos I am down $ on Confed Cup) I decided to shot take and took all the action.

Could see straight away both players had made some schoolboy errors in their lineup construction, they usually do that and still win tbh. Was certainly a sweat watching the games, I had Charles Arranguiz for Chile go off injured at HT who was one of my main differentials so I thought I would be losing after that. But in the end I won all the head to heads so it was a good day.

Just finished a session there. Was playing shorthanded with the biggest luckbox in Germany. Other Regs were just leaving the table cos he was non stop coolering people for an hour or two. Eventually the other Regs gave up and I knew I would torch him as soon we got heads up.

He still managed to god mode me for a good while HU. He was quite aggro and re-popping my 3bets often with huge 4bets. I 5bet jammed AQo for 150bbs and he tank folded. I could tell my HU game was starting to get to him by this point. I knew he wouldnt be prepared to fold to the next 5bet jam so I made sure my next 3bet I had a hand that I was prepared to jam 150bb with.

Shortly after I get AKo and 3bet. Sure enough he 4bets massive again to like 30bb. I ship the 150bb and he snaps me off with AJs and loses both run outs. After that his game went to **** and he donated the rest of his stack to me by interpreting my small bets as weakness and he bluff jammed the turn with air.

Was just checking the Draft Kings lobby before bed for Wednesdays Confed Cup semi-final slate and I see another guy sitting in the Head to Head lobby with games posted from $1 to $530. Again he has the full experience badge but I looked him up and he is an American Sports DFS guy so I thought I would see how good his Soccer game is and took as many of his head to heads as I could get. So we are playing this guy 2moro evening Head to Head at $1, $2, $3, $5, $10, $20, $50, $109, $215 and $530. Hoping for no injuries in my lineup on this slate.

Dude most have got angry that I took all them H2H's so he went into the lobby and took some of my H2H's, so I had even more action on against him. 2 day slates are very annoying having to wait overnight for the 2nd game. Tbh his lineup was decent but a couple of his picks I would label as mistakes.

I won 100% of my head to heads tonight so I did beat him. I got a few decent cashes in GPPs too. I am maybe back to BE or a small profit now for Confed Cup. There is 1 slate left on Sunday for the final and the 3rd 4th playoff so hopefully make a profit on that.

Oh yeah this is supposed to be a Poker thread not DFS I got rekt at the tables again last night by a 50 VPIP fish. This guy was ruining everyone and was sitting with a 450bb stack. He flopped a set of 8s in a 4bet pot vs me and he was way too aggro to be given any credit for his Flop Raise in a 4bet pot vs my 1/4 pot cbet so I lost a stack there. Next hand the Reg to my left got it in vs the fish and the fish has a set again lol. Despite being up 4 or 5 BIs that session the Fish still had a winrate of -100 bb/100 that is impressive.

The new Janda book arrived today so never put a session in earlier cos I had a read through the start of that. Will check my poker results again when I hit some rungood.

Yeah I seen in your thread that you got yours a few weeks ago. I have been patiently waiting. What bits have you read up to?

I just finished that bit about the example with: K4 with the FD in BTN vs BB.

I pictured getting this book and reading it during summertime out in the sun on a hot day. Then I realised if I wait for sunny days in Scotland to read this book I will get finished reading it in about a 100 years time.

I've read through it quickly and now I'm working my way back through it taking notes etc. After that I'll read them over and look at applying some of it. It's been handy as it's answered some of the questions I've been thinking about lately, mainly around betsizing.

Nice one. I did notice that it doesnt look like there is as much reading in the new Janda book compared to AONLHE. I might just resort to reading it when it is raining and it should be done in no time. I'll let you know when Ive read it and we can maybe discuss some of the topics if you want.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Never played any poker today because when I opened HEM my winrate for the BB was staring me in the face and pi$$ing me off as usual. I have kinda worked out that my biggest leak right now that I am aware of is not adjusting enough to the current situation.

I just looked at my BB vs 1 Raiser on BTN filter again in HEM. The winrate is not good enough. However, what I did notice is that my winrate here is perfectly fine playing against certain open sizes and against other open sizes it is disgraceful. That is pretty clear evidence to me that I am not adjusting my range enough vs different open sizes from the BTN. The villain stealing and his BTN steal % will also be factors I need to pay more attention to.

A good example is the winrate for my BB vs 1 Raiser on the BTN, when the BTN opens to 4x. My winrate is -96 EV bb/100. Now when I check HEM replayer most of these 4x opens are when a fish has already limped in so the BTN opens to 4x. I am then OOP in the BB vs 2 players. There is the advantage that a fish is in the pot but being OOP with a wide range still sucks. I will need to look more into it but I would hazard a guess that I am playing too loose in such scenarios and bleeding money.

Confed Cup final and the 3rd 4th playoff slate went decently well today. Picked up a red card in my cash game lineup but still done well and won 21/22 head to heads. I was down $3k overall in Confed Cup and kept picking up injuries the first 6 or 7 slates. Miraculously I have ended the Confed Cup by being up $3k so pleased with that.

Well I thought I would be saying that is Soccer DFS finished until August now but there is another tournament starting on Saturday, CONCACAF GOLD CUP 2017. Ok, I know a little about the following teams:

Canada
Costa Rica
Honduras
Jamaica
Mexico
Panama
USA

However, if anyone knows the set piece takers or star players for the following teams send me a pm:

Curacao
El Salvador
French Guinea
Martinique
Nicaragua

I expect my inbox will be inundated with msgs so apologies in advance if I dont get time to reply to everyone

Will try to get some decent poker volume in before Saturday when DFS starts up again. Oh yeah I won 2 satellites to the Golf Milly Maker later this month so will try and luckbox that.

Goals for the month:

Improve my Big Blind game.
Work on adjusting to game dynamics better, particularly from the BB.
Read new Janda book.
Profit in DFS during the Gold cup.
Get prepared for next football season, look at Bundesliga teams.
Bench presses before and after everything above

The prelude to the hand is we have just finished stacking another Russian Reg who absolutely hates me. I flatted his 4bet with AA and got it in on the river and he went berzerk in the chat giving me abuse when he lost his stack.

He raises the limper in this hand and then I think a fish flats with a massive 300bb stack which I am eyeing so I call pre and then Russian Reg #2 flats in the BB also.

Hero flops the idiot end of the straight.

Russian Reg #2 donk leads the flop.

I immediately thought that 798 flop is set city and my first instincts where to raise huge and get it in on the flop. Then I realised relative stacks are like 170bb here so am I gonna put that in with the idiot end of the straight? If he has a set I defo say he still gets it in on the flop and hopes it is set over set or at the worst his sets can boat up against straights.

End up flatting the flop and I am pretty sure I am beating nothing on the turn. Kinda regret not raising the flop tbh.

Right not done an update for a bit.

Windows Update and Problems
Was getting some good volume in start of the month then things have tapered off a bit. I had one of them mandatory Windows updates a few days ago. After that none of my hotkeys for Stars was working and the table requiring action wasent popping up so the set up was unplayable. At one point I actually thought this was Amaya's latest trick to piss regs off.

Dunno why but for some reason the Stars.exe file had its privileges changed so it wasen't running as the administrator anymore. Changed that and after a few more restarts and tinkering I eventually got things back up and running.

Rakeback
So far I have received $1 rakeback this month and a bunch of points and other crap. Opening them chests is like them christmas crackers out of Poundland where you get a paper hat and paper clip inside and the joke isnt even funny. Previously I was getting 30, 40 or 50 dollars rb per day. I cant even be fuct opening them anymore.

Soccer DFS
Some days I havent had much time to play poker before DFS starts so rather than rush a quick session I decided it would be more +EV to give the new Janda book a read.

I havent done any updates for a while to save typing a wall of text everyday about running bad in Soccer DFS with injuries, more injuries, penalty misses, Regs multi-accounting etc. I lost a ton of $ one night because everywhere published the incorrect starting lineup for the USA. I double, triple, quadruple checked this on 4 or 5 different football apps and even the DFS site I am playing on showed the incorrect starting lineup. So I end up with players who never played and the best play of the slate I miss cos I thought he wasent starting What can you do..? Not go on tilt, keep believing and on to the next one..

Here is what it looks like when things go right

Poker volume started off pretty good in July then fell off a cliff. Results and volume are a bit meh.

As stated I wanted to profit in the Gold Cup for Soccer DFS as well as prepare some things for next season so this ate into a lot of my time and hampered my Poker volume. As well as Gold Cup action there was also soccer DFS on for the ICC (International Champions Cup). Yup you heard that right, ICC. This is the pre-season friendly tournament in USA and China where teams regularly make 11 half time substitutions which is not great for your 8 man lineup.

I decided I wouldnt play for real money on such friendly nonsense. Then I decided fcuk it might as well go full degen and get some $ in on this. At one point the Gold Cup games were kicking off at 4am UK time then I had to be up for the ICC games which were starting early next day, then try to play some poker in the evening so was feeling pretty tired at times.

Was it all really worth it? Course it fcuking was..

^DFS Results

Read the Janda book in between events which was really good and defo some parts I will need to go over again. If I can continue to make consistent profit from DFS it will take the pressure off poker wise a bit. Starting to think more off the table work would benefit my game more than trying to grind a ton of hands.

I also won 3 satelites from Soccer DFS for 3 tickets to the Golf DFS Milly Maker. 2 of my lineups bombed. And my best lineup did really well. There was 110k entries in that and my lineup was sitting in the top 500 for most of the 4 days. Finished just outside the top 1k so only got $100.

August was mega busy trying to balance Poker and DFS and everything else in between. Went to Eminem gig and was at the Casino a few days later for the Mayweather fight, then had a lady friend up visiting for a few days as well. Seemed to eat into my time.

I met the DraftKings VIP manager in London last year. She no longer works for DK but she txt me in August and said she was working at Yahoo DFS now. I ended up joining Yahoo DFS then having to spend a couple days getting a new spreadsheet ready for the Yahoo scoring system. Not sure how worthwhile Yahoo DFS will be but I will try it out for a while.

Poker volume was pathetic in August and I am getting frustrated by the lack of time I have had to do anything Poker related so I will try and improve this:

Not much to say about that really. Try and get more volume in during Sept and see if my BB game is improving any.

DFS Results $-1500

Yep everything was going alright. I remember winning a lot when the French Ligue 1 kicked off. EPL started alright. I had a big win the Champions League qualifier when Celtic pumped Astana at Celtic park. I thought mid month I was up around $3k but just seen the graph today and I was up $6k. Then I hit the worst downswing Ive ever had I think, from up $6k to down $6k.

Mental Game
I was trying to keep my mental game strong at that point and had a read over my notes and injecting logic from MGOP. But I just kept going on a run of getting players red carded, (Fabregas, Arnautovic spring to mind). Then I had a player get injured in the warmup before I could switch him out. So entering $1k or $2k per slate things can go downhill pretty fast.

Actually would have finished the month down almost $6k, my BR really isnt big enough for swings like that. But I was saved by the Belgians when they hammered Gibraltar 8-0 or whatever it was. I actually put up one of the all time highest scores for a Soccer lineup that day. From 8 players I got 3 hat tricks! Meunier, Ronaldo and Lukaku. Won nearly every contest that day and got like $3500 profit.

Not shown in the graph cos it was 1st of September but I won everything the next day as well thanks to Harry Kane and Ryan Bertrand and got another $3800 profit. Typical Kane eh, screws you silly all August then he is back scoring the minute it is September.

Rainy Days
Just when I think things have turned around I entered $800 for the next slate and took 6/8 players from Croatia v Kosovo. 20 mins into the match, game abandoned due to flooded pitch and the full $800 down the drain. Never a dull moment. I defo ran bad during that DFS downswing but there was plenty of mistakes made in there too. Feels very similar to Poker when you hit that runbad/playbad phase.

September Goals
Try to figure out how to balance things better to get more poker volume in.
Work on identifying how mistakes happen in Poker and DFS and try to understand why they happened and how they can be eradicated in the future.

Tried to get more Poker volume in but ended up with only 30k hands despite my best efforts. Monthly graph just showing the usual noise, not worthy of being uploaded. Over the last 12 months my 50NL winrate is @ 3bb/100. I need to get that upto 4 or 5 then get back to 100NL.

I combed over my opening ranges and some hands were not profitable anymore so removed the junk. Cant remember if I am repeating myself but I am aware of the following leaks I need to patch up.

BB v BTN open
Win rate is decent vs 2.5x open and crap vs 3x open. I have adjusted and played wider vs the 2.5x which seems fine. vs the 3x open I havent tightened my range up enough and played too loose and leaked away bbs.

BB v CO open
When I look at how I have played vs a 2.5x and 3x open my VPIP is the exact same This time the winrate is decent vs the 3x open and vs 2.5x not so good. vs 2.5x open I havent adjusted the range accordingly and played wider.

Moving forward I will keep tabs on my ranges vs these open sizes and look to find out what I can play profitably in these spots, but this might take a lot of hands and some time to figure out.

So first couple of months of Yahoo DFS. Deposited £5 and got a £50 deposit bonus to start things off. Hustled that up to £400. Entered £200 on last Champions League slate and Miralem Pjanic got injured in the warmup and cost me half my Yahoo roll cos he never played and scored zero that night

On Saturday I got 3 entries in the top 10 of the big £10k GPP and binked 1st place with the nut lineup for £1000

For the slate I entered £146.50 and got back £1923.30.

Improve DFS game [] no, made too many mistakes this month.
    Bench Presses [X]

Looked over ranges and improved a few things.

Listened to this Audio Book while I was on the grind which was pretty good and made me think about a few things regarding mental game and winning.

I also seen a Fedor Holz interview yday where he spoke about some mental game stuff that I really need to start applying.

    Poker G Raff

^Ok you realise why we are doing the monthly review now dont want that graph getting fuct and also dont want to be playing sub optimal so that I can post a nice graph in a few days.

    Giraffe for last 250k hands

Winrate approaching 3.5 bb/100 and interestingly that when I filter for playing less tables the winrate is around 5bb/100.

Its possible that when I played less tables I was giving myself more time to get used to my new ranges. So the sample playing fewer tables is possibly better because it was using improved ranges.

Or maybe the extra time I have when playing less tables gives me more thinking time, more time to check HUD stats etc. I will need to try and find the sweet spot for myself where I can play decent table numbers and maintain winrate.

    November Goals:
    Improve Ranges
    Try and increase volume
    Audiobook
    Do some research on Cryptocurrency

How much do you reckon you're profiting in a year from DFS?

Of course I tripled up on the Europa League 8pm slate too.

I wouldnt have had the BR to get started in DFS if it wasent for Poker so I'm not gonna sh*t talk NLHE. I reckon I can still do some damage in Poker too after I patch some leaks.

Not sure. I do track my results in a spreadsheet but not looked at it much for a while and results can be wildly different one month to the next. I have had several $10k downswings in DFS so it isnt all just winning. Losses have mainly come from playing higher stakes such as $400 and $1k buy ins which were really just shot takes but I have either run-bad or played-bad in them games. All my recent wins have come from games at $33 BI or under so you can still make nice money on a moderate BR.

On Yahoo I deposited £5 in August 2017 and I am now up to £3200 but prob running way over EV and been getting lucky there.

Most of my profits have come from the games up to about $33 buy in. One of the American guys who started a bit before me has made $75k from DFS soccer in around 2 years I think. When I started Football/Soccer DFS was only on at the wk end, you can play pretty much every night of the week now.

Think I made a loss on Europa League last season from not knowing the teams and players well enough and spewing $ as a result so pleased with how last night went.
