I havent checked my bb/100 yet, but it will have improved slighlty over the whole sample and improved massively for the last few k hands in this spot.

On my phone right now so dont have my spreadsheet with all the data. But from memory I think we are looking to be around -50 bb/100 in this spot.

Yeah mate been grinding a mix of 50 & 100NL.

Moved to 100 a little quicker than I would have liked to, but the extra VPPs from playing higher will allow me to make Supernova at this pace, provided I dont go broke.

Not checked any results this month so there will be a few deep breaths on the last day before HEM breaks me the news.
Yeah mate.. things are a little manic right now ... both with work and " other " stuff.

Pretty damn impressed with your progress over the last few months, especially considering your working too ... well done and keep it up !

Its getting to the stage .. im might have to admit your now a better player than me, although i will fight it for as long as i can

Haha thanks. Well I do think it is important to set new goals and keep aiming higher. Dont know if I can edit the original title of this thread but think I will just keep this one going. Havent achieved anything yet, I'm just getting started.

Next goals are to get Supernova this year which will mean staying afloat at 100NL. Once I get there I will set new goals, maybe start of next year.

Thanks, the last few months have been pretty brutal cos I had to up Poker volume and at the same time my work have been rapidly increasing my workload too so just been feeling burned out the last while. Last Friday after work I honestly felt like I could hardly walk. On my last day of antibiotics now and defo feeling a bit better now.

Btw I have never claimed to be a better player than you. You always seemed to have a better knowledge and understanding of the game than I did. I think you just have some motivational and mental game issues or you would be at 100NL too.

Up to 60k VPPs now. Few more days grind then check results on Wednesday.

Your not the type to say such a thing anyway mate

My poker may start up again shortly anyway ..

I had a big meeting yesterday and laid my cards on the table in this new job.

They have a couple of tough decisions that need to be made but im not sure they are willing to do them.

Main women is just too head strong to admit her mistakes even though she is now being backed into a corner.

Ill give them a couple of weeks to decide and then if they still cannot make a decision i will say goodbye and wish them well.

I had similar showdown talks at my work recently too. Ive not complained about anything in there since I started but they have taken things to where it would be impossible to achieve the workload they are giving me.

Think I will use up holidays soon, use that time to grind. Then be looking elsewhere on the job front soon after.

Yeah mate be good to see you back at the tables.

Hey,

Whats new?

Well this wk end was a royal disaster.

I havent been checking results as you know. However tiltbreaker notifies me when the sh#t is hittin the fan.

So I got a tiltbreaker alarm on Sat saying I was down 800 bb for the session. This hadnt happened all month.

Then BANG next session tiltbreaker alarm down another 800 bb!!!

I think both sessions I run 3 BI under EV. Losses where a mixture of coolers. I run like death for a sustained period.

Then I like to follow that up with some tilt and bad play.

I am playing a lot of deep stack games so you can lose 2.5 BI in one hand.

Anyway, I am starting to doubt the use of tiltbreaker. When it notifies me I have taken a big loss it just feels like the world is ending.

It is then hard to play normal after that cos you feel as if every decision is tilted. Then I think I go too far with my medium strength hands, AA for example making bad river calls when I know I am beat.

Then you lose a couple stacks KK v AA
Then you loose another couple QQ v AA
Couple to set over set.

Anyway rant over. Not looking forward to checking results on Wed now. But will take a closer look at what happened then when I have a clearer mind.

Maybe I should adjust tiltbreaker to only go off if lose 10BI. Then if it does go off I should maybe take a 24hr break after that cos by that point I will have taken too many losses to play my A game for a while.

Was just having a think about why Sat went so bad for me at the tables and I recalled a few things.

I have been reading that new Jonathan Little book Excelling At No Limit Holdem. There are a few chapters specific to tournament play in it. Think this got me in the mood for playing some. On Sat I played a few of the freerolls, the Chrome star vpp tourneys or whatever they are called. Only intended on playing one, but ended up playing 3 out of frustration.

Every time I would get it in good e.g QQ v 88 then lose. Then all in AK vs QT and lose again. This happened every tournament, guess they are called donkaments for a reason.

Anyway I defo reckon this spilled over to my cash games and caused me to tilt later on and it give me the "world is against me feeling"

I am pretty sure I have been through this before, with them freeroll tourney bad beats causing me to tilt later on at the cash tables. Next time there cant be any more excuses. If I decide to play one of them freerolls or any MTT I need to expect to lose to a bad beat and probably restrict myself to playing only 1 as I will be playing more important cash games the Sat night where I cant afford mistakes or tilt to creep in.

Also feel playing too much and being fatigued contributed to the downfall. Also just remembered I felt really agitated by the days events and I began to loose discipline. I started editing my HUD layout whilst playing. This caused HEM to spazz out a few times
and freeze up my tables, which resulted in depleted timebanks. I make my worst decisions when I am panicked into clicking quickly. I spewed off 250bb during all this with AA on a deep stack table. Was an easy fold. But this reg jammed the river on me a few hands before so this one irritated me and I made a tilted call.

Thought I would get that off my chest. Took a break from tables today to refresh my mind and will get back on the grind Tuesday.

Haha I did my best to trim down my beasty HUD and get rid of some stats that werent essential. Eye was getting a bit sore from looking at a screen all day at work then coming home and grinding til bed.

Thought that I could chop a few stats off then increase the HUD font size a little to make it easier on the eyes.

If there wasent a 3 sec delay when I click for popups I would get rid of more stats. But a 3 sec wait when you are multi tabling feels like ten minutes.

Another problem I have right now is that I play with 2 additional monitors connected to the laptop. I only have 1 HDMI port. So the 2nd monitor gets connected using some HDMI to USB converter, which works fine. Except for the fact that this monitor seems to randomly flicker to a black screen for a couple seconds and does this randomly. Its a new monitor so can only guess it is a graphic card problem or maybe just the adapter I have is wack. Either way I could do with getting it sorted as I dont need any extra things pi$$ing me off.

Hoping things run more smoothly after I upgrade to windows 10. Although I have had bad experiences with updates, had a laptop bricked before doing a windows update and my iphone also died doing an update.

So think I will wait til January before doing any updates so that I have plenty time to recover from any downtime that I may incur.

Yeah hoping most of that damage was at 50NL. Actual just realised 2m is the last day of the month, results day....gulp

Grind tonight and 2moro.

Off to the Celtic v Fenerbache game on Thursday. Hope RVP is on the bench for that one.

Ok lets do it monthly results.

First off lets put some things in perspective:
  • Not expecting results to be amazing right now as Im playing higher to get VPPs.
  • I was unwell for 2 weeks which cant have helped performance.
  • Tiltbreaker informed us that last Sat was a massive downswing, therefore we might expect results to be negative this month.

Ok first off, I wanted 13k VPPs. I collected 14k VPPs

I now require 36,860 to reach Supernova.

Next up results graph:

Not too dissapointed with that really, downswing is always nasty to look at but at the end of the day I can keep playing the same stakes next month now and work on some leaks to improve the winrate.

October up next, on to the next one.

Lets end with some music, gl.

Thanks mate.

New month, new goals. Was thinking ahead and if I chug along at the same VPP pace I will just make this Supernova target.

However, December will prob have a lot of days where I cant play cos of xmas and new year and a lot of peoples bdays coming up soon which could hamper wk end grinding.

So given that I have holiday time to use to get off work I want to start getting a lot more VPPs. I am gonna see if I can get half of the remaining Supernova VPPs this month, around 18k VPPs so that I can move ahead of schedule to prepare for any unexpected events the future may hold.

That way when it is coming up to the last month of the year and xmas etc I can chill out a bit.

1st day of month seemed to go well given that I moved up to 13 BIs on a deep stack table. Defo run well over EV in a few spots, but its not like I could fold in this spot vs a huge whale:

    Time for an update.

So in order to comply with Stars new rules regarding some HUD features getting ban etc I had to download the HEM update.

Not too fussed about losing some of the features tbh and when multi-tabling there isnt always time to look at the caddy spark graphs etc.

Anyway after updating to the new HEM2, BOOOOM my HUD pop-ups now appear straight away like magic instead of having to wait 3 seconds, so well pleased with that

I also fixed the monitor problem where the screen kept flickering black. Ignored the posts online about all that graphic card tech junk stuff. I went with my own fix of unplugging the USB to HDMI converter and then plugging it back in and that seems to reset it or something and solves the problem.

Also used up some of my holiday time off work this month so feeling a lot fresher plus had more time to grind.

This month I have got 5k VPPs already, 31k required until Supernova.

Up to 70k VPPs with this hand, good to actually win a hand when one of them Stellar rewards come through. Nothing more annoying than hearing that victory music for a Stellar reward when you have just lost a stack.

Also that new music for completing a VIP step with the space sound fx followed by a farting noise is really annoying.

Anyway 30k VPPs to go so will get to work on chipping away at that tonight.

Here is a right mess of a spot. Vs 1 Reg and 1 Fish with the short stack. When all the money gets piled in on the Turn I accept that I am behind, but its still hard to fold top set. Felt I maybe had the odds to call to boat up on the river.

HEM shows the pot odds were 29% and Hero is only 21% to win.

In hindsight, the mistake looks like my Turn lead. If I hadnt invested any money on the Turn I could have maybe folded when the Reg shoves. Oh well..

Something about this hand doesnt make sense. I folded to river jam because villain done some big time Hollywooding and tanked for aaaages and aaaaaaagess then jammed. Last few times Ive called after one of them, the villain has in fact held the nuts. Based on this I folded.

But something about his flop and turn play isnt consistent with a guy holding a flush draw I feel. Checking again, the other villain is a whale. So why would he bet with a FD knowing he is against 2 villains and a whale who will call down everything?

On the turn I felt he had a set, but maybe he had JT and picked up the FD on the turn.

But then on the river, if villain has the flush he likely knows I dont have s so why does he check raise? as he cant be expecting me to bet many hands as the 3rd diamond is a scare card and I would likely check down a lot of my range.

Dunno maybe I got bluffed Villain's River Raise was 11%
