I think this update will be more of a 'trip report' of my weekend, as I didn't sit at one table the entire session and the session lasted about 29 hours. It's a bit of a blur in my mind, but I'm going to try to be as accurate as possible. I did make some notes of big hands & should remember most. Here goes...

SO, going back to saturday afternoon, it's about 3pm I wake up and start playing some online around 4pm as nothing bigger than 1/3 was running live yet. Played for just around an hour of 200z (won $100ish) and decided around 5.30pm to get ready, shower etc, to go and play 1/3 anyway as bigger games should start soon regardless and I definitely don't wanna have to waitlist for a good game.

Fast forward to about 6pm and I start my 1/3 session; Played for 1 hour and got dealt AA literally 5 times, lol. Split one with A5s, stole blinds twice, stole a raise once and finally won a flop cbet. Exciting stuff. After an hour we started a 4-handed 2/5 with a reg and 2 not fishy, but far from good players. Slightly disappointing how the table actually broke after 2 hours, considering it was a saturday night and in my experience there was always action, but whatever.
2/5 Co limps, I raise to 20 with T9dd he calls.
JJ7hhd
He calls 25
Kd
I xc 50
3d
I checkraise his 50 to allin 250, he calls I win.

Table breaks and I decide to play a side tournament. I almost never play these tournaments, but really cba'd 1/3 so when there's no action I gamble in them anyway. The main event, 180 euro buyin, 100k gtd, I actually played day 1 of on thursday and bagged 14bb for day 2, which I will cover later in this post. Anyway, saturday's side tournament; 20k gtd, 100 buyin. It ended up having 5.5k overlay. I somehow do well and bubble the FT to get 10th for like 370, KQ < A7 bvb.

While I played this thing a 2/5 started and when I busted it was still playing, 5 handed I believe. Around 4am I started to play; Planning to leave around 7 considering I had to play day 2 of the other tourney, starting at 1pm. The 2/5 was quite deep however, not particularly tough, we made it a 5/10 and on top of that with the prospect of no action on monday-wednesday I figured there's no way I can leave this table to sleep and prepare well for a 180 buyin tourney where I have 14bb.

Hence, I end up playing the 5/10 till 1pm when the tourney continues. Again, like thursday, we play 72 game for 25 bucks if you win.
Hands of this session, actually all against the same reg who is splashy at times:
2/5 Open QQ in co 15, bb calls.
AQTr
He xc 25
T
He xc 55
Q
I bet 95, He raises 225, I raise 725, he calls and says he had AT.

5/10 open mp 72o, btn 3b to 100, I 4b to 280 he calls.
772
Cbet 190, he calls.
8
Bet 380, he somehow folds QQ.

5/10 open TT, btn flats bb makes it 80 I call btn folds.
774
I call 75
6
I call 175
5
I fold to 350.

Spew of the session to end it b/e, against another reg:
Open QJo co, btn 3b 100, I 4b 310, he calls.
AK3
He calls 190
Q
I fold to 280

Moving on to day 2 of the next tourney! I play fairly decent and run my 14bb up to like 40bb with only 1 showdown, but eventually gii for about 20-25bb at the time with KQ against fish's AQ on QT3. He gii before with AJ on QTx board, so with my limited tourney knowledge I still figured it's clearly a jam.

It's around 3pm and the 5/10 still runs 3 handed. I join, but the table breaks after 30min. The reg from the hh's above and I decide to play 2/5 hu for 1h and I win about 700.

A fish I remember joins and we play 3 handed.
2/5 same reg as before opens to 20, I 3b KQo 70 he calls.
KJ9ss
He lead 135 blind, I call.
K
He xr my 190 to 505, I call.
3
xx and I win against supposively AA.

Then the table fills up and there's like 4 nitfishes sitting with minimum buyin (200), and I remembered the other fish from last summer playing 5/10, so I start a 5/10 with some regs and hope he joins. Instead, essentially the whole table joins and he leaves. rip lol.

2/5
Open AJo 20, 3 calls, bb(same reg surprise) squeezes 80, I reraise 250 he calls.
AT4
He xc 190
5
xx
4
I call 350 and lose vs AQ.

5/T Older man who plays about 1k raises to 55, I call JJ.
J92hh
He bets 175, I jam, he snaps Q7hh.
We run it twice and split.

2 hands later;
Co opens 30, q7hh guy calls, I squeeze 140 with TT.
A62sss
I check, opener bets 200, older man jams, gets called for about 700 total by A2.
runs out 6, 3, the man shows 68cc and says 'didn't expect that eh!!!!'. Leaves for 1/3 about 5 hands later and buys in for min there.

Anyway, we play 5/T and I leave around 11pm to finish a what ended up being a roughly 29h session, which is about 4h more than my longest session before this one. I ended up about +500.

Sleep for 14h and now the casino won't have bigger than 1/3 games till thursday and I'm going to do some online gambling as well as uni coursework.

I hope this didn't become too much of a very boring wall of text.

42h is sick. At the ~15h point I start to struggle with sleep, then get better after that but likely still play way worse than my best. How did you manage 42h? lol

Adventures of 1/3

Actually had some kind of non standard hands today.

1/3/6, open 94o in bb to 12, straddle 3bets to 25, I 4bet to 85 he calls.
J88
He calls 100
5
xx
4
xc 100, win against QT.

1/3, open co 64s, btn calls, bb squeezes to 36 we both call.
T86hh
xxx
2
Btn calls 58
K
I xc 75 and win against supposively 53.

1/3, some limps I raise AA in co to 18, sb coldcalls and 1 more call.
T98hh
sb leads 85 in like 60 and looks like the most confident kid in the world.
I fold face up and say 'I'll give you 10 if you can show me worse'.
He shows QQ, rip.

There was one more hh I forgot to post from last thursday in the 5/10, 72 game was on.
Mp limps, I raise AKhh 100, btn makes it 300 I call.
972h
I xc 300
4h
I xjam about 2400 over 600, he snaps with 72, we run it twice and chop.

Kind of forgot to mention that hand as it ended up in split, but it was fairly interesting regardless imo.

We actually had a hand straddled to 200 too... Didn't manage to pick that one up

I can actually tell ya where I play, they are about to kick off WSOPE I think, king's casino rozvadov. I doubt games will be any good during that though, I'd imagine same banana players but way more regs. In the usual weekends (thursday-sunday) one 2/5 or one 5/10 runs, but it's quite a good one as you can judge from the hh's.

As only one table is good on these stakes, y'all better not all start camping there now!

Trip report!

By graphs:

By story:

So clearly not the best ending doing off 3k the last session, but I for sure still think the trip was a lot of fun. It's interesting how essentially only 3 nights there was a really good table and the rest was just mainly regbattling with some fish who wasn't terrible / was tight / was shortstacking etc.

First night I lost 470 in a very good game. Next one I lost 200. Last one I lost 3100.

That basically implies I'm up about 6k in mainly regbattling and down ~4k in the supposively fishy lineups, lol. I for sure enjoyed the 3-5 handed 2/5/10 games, especially the 2/5 3 handed games. These are just a different dynamic considering the btn/ip straddle, that coupled with playing with 2 not bad players makes it fun.

Anyway. Saturday night after my last post the game restarted, some hh's:
2/5; mp limp, co limp, btn makes it 25, I call 89cc in bb and both flat.
267cc
Mp leads 50, co raises 130. I jam ~800 and win both runouts against 22.

5/10; Open QQ 30 in mp, co calls.
998cc
I xc 50
J
I xc 110
8
I xc 300 and lose against T7o.

5/10; Open TT 30 in mp and call sb 3b to 100.
A84
I call 110
Tc
I call 215
Kc(3rd c)
I fold to 1100. IDK. Villain is a good reg. Also, was discussing this hand with a friend and I forgot if A was c or not, which is obv quite important.

5/10; Open QQ 30 in mp, co calls, bb squeezes 150, we both call.
357ss
xxx
8
Co calls 130
6
I fold to 600 and get shown T6. Shoulda called, but I was tired and didn't even consider counting bluff combos etc. If it was in the beginning of session I'd of paid it off knowing he'd turn so much into a bluff here. Sucks. Obviously couldn't give the satisfaction of telling his bluff worked & told him the 6 was good, nice valuebet.

5/10; Mp opens 35, I 3b J9s btn to 125. Bb coldcalls, opener calls.
568
xxx
T
I call 225
7
I call 840 and win against 99.

Moving on to last night where I lost 3100, it was... a special table. There is a certain player and without getting into a name and shame type of thing, I'll describe him as a guy who can be found playing 1/3, but he's also played 200/400, vpiping ~100%. For a bunch of players for sure a decent part of the reason to come to this casino which is in the middle of absolutely nowhere. He likes to buy in deep(5k+) and I can't, after playing at least 100 hours with him, not remember once he actually cashed out. Once it gets late in the night he basically spews off whatever stack he has in front of him. I never asked him, but I'm pretty sure his goal of playing poker is not making as much money as possible, but rather winning as many hands as possible. Also, aside from the obvious good game that comes, he's actually very interesting and intelligent and a guy I very much respect as a person. Kinda noting that down just in case this ends up with him and he may or may not like some of the things I say here, even though I'm 99% sure he knows anyway. He told me a bunch about what he did in his life but I don't want to share it in case he doesn't want me to. For anyone who has played in these games and is somehow reading this thread, no need to post or guess etc.

So games run quite big with this guy. Usually, there's about 3 good regs and a bunch of nits waiting for a big hand to gii with, usually shortstacking. This makes for a fun game as he opens (doesn't limp, open 5x) 100% range and will defend 100% against 3bets. Meaning, Q9o becomes a snap value 3b! Assuming that draws a decent picture of the type of game it becomes, now imagine it with 8 winning 5/10 regs who are all afaik for sure properly rolled for the game and you find yourself in a game where every hand has a 3b and about every other hand has a 4b, and lots of trapping and backraising That was the game of last night.

Quick hand I remember from 2/5 last year, went something like this; Utg opens 25. Mp calls. Btn makes it ~140. Sb flats. Utg makes it ~400. Mp jams ~1k. Btn calls. Sb calls. Utg jams ~3k. Btn calls. Sb thinks for a while and also calls. UTG has AK, mp has AK, btn has 56, sb has QQ. The AK's won majority fwiw.

Anyway, I manage to lose 3k in what should be a very +ev game. I gii with JJ against aforementioned guy and he somehow has AA and I lose ~1200. Another hand I get dealt a game over in the form of having 88 on A86 A 3, and being up against A6. Rip. That basically explains majority of the -3k aside from some pre 3bet/folds etc. The game broke before I got to make anything back

I drove home in the night and have some new goal(s) which I'll update on in this thread, will post that when I wake up again!
10-25-2016 , 09:33 AM
When I was 16, I did something else to make money & then I, for no apparent reason, had some monetary goal I wanted to hit. Now I have less than 3 months of uni left and after a good summer I'm silly close to that amount and thus it'll be the next goal of this thread; In numbers it means I need about $3000. And yes, that means I actually had it done if I didn't play one more night last trip, lol.

Anyway, thread: Make $3k before finishing uni, which is halfway January. I could literally grind out 25z to do this considering the huge time frame I have, so no stress whatsoever. I won't do that though and just play 100z / 200z, perhaps 50z if need be. In my hometown where I go to uni, there are some 1/1 homegames so I will play these, I may play some MCOP in november, just anything counts towards this $3k 'challenge'.

lets go
10-28-2016 , 09:55 AM
Since back home;

Obviously barely played. I did 2 MTT sessions, made like $100 together. Also played a 1/1 live & lost 300 there.

one hand:
1/1/2/4/8; btn open jams 36, straddle 4 raises 80, I jam ~250 in straddle 8 with 99. He calls with TT and holds.

I wish I took way more pics while at casinos. I do have this one which is pretty awesome tbh;

When you run it 5 times and still can't lose Pot was maybe 800 or so, I don't really remember

At the lowest point this session I had about 600 in front of me, won all them 100 euro chips to run it up to like 4500

This would be the biggest stack I ever played live. Adds up to about 9.2k... At the highest point I had about 11.5 however unfortunately don't have a pic of it. This was the session in which I had a 5k flip pre with KK v Q2s and 4b to 2k with AA pre, got called and gii on Q93hh and held against supposively flushdraw for 10k pot

I'm not a big fan of the Dutch casinos and will probably skip MCOP which is in 2 weeks. However, the one thing I like, is the chip denominations which make every stack look big.

When you don't care about chips

I've also been playing tournaments up to ~$50 buyin, had some deep runs but no 'big' scores yet.

              Graphs since last update:

              200z

Lifetime 100z I am running about 50bi below ev. In 200z, after 22k hands I was running about 10 below ev as well; I was a little worried of it heading the same way as 100z went, however then this hand came to make up for quite a bit of it;D

              Hands

A9ss - hero enters with $800 -> hero leaves me $1800. What more is there to say but HOLY CRAP!

JT - I don't like stacking off here tbh, but wtf is that BB doing??

63s - I think it's fine to open tbh. I'd rather 4b then call when getting 3b. Postflop obv fine, not a bad flop lol

KK - really interesting tbh. I think I like your line, and yea if I'm the btn and co played AP, I might spaz lol

KQss - yea it's either that or a check right?

again, congrats on the A9ss hand. God if that board paired it would have been SICK!!!!!!!!!

JT- bb was a biiiig fish and I wanted to push the rest out of the pot, also have a fair bit of equity in case he did have AA/KK or something strong

63s- Yeah, I get what you mean with 4b > call. However if I start using that logic, I will end up messing up my ranges completely which will lead to me not knowing how many value hands I should have in 4b pots / how many I can/should bluff etc. So I tend to shy away from arbitrary 4balling

KQs - I chose for the jam to both ensure realizing equity and gain fold equity. Check could be better tbh depending on 3rd guy's range and whether 3bettor will call off w/ KK/AA I guess

                        Thanks for feedback!

That means $3k is made which is in line with how much money I am worth now, which means I met my goal. Next up is finishing uni which I am hopefully done with in end of January; if so, I will dedicate 2017 to poker as the first year I truly only play poker without distractions such as uni etc. I have some cool options on where to live and will probably make a new thread then with as goal $50k profit for the year, which should be attainable playing 2/5/10 live and 100z/200z online. (PS pls dont **** us over with rb).

Anyway that's for next year, that means I am ending this year early and that means the end of this thread. I'll still play some online tho, just not a lot.

Not exactly sure about his line, lol. He probably had some skewed stats on me that led him to believe I'm gonna stab way too often or w/e. Idk.

Gl man really inspirational stuff in here, will def be following doing a 100k live challenge myself but not going so great atm am a 2/5 grinder.

I have a really bad work ethic/mind set and i want to get back in online again and i would prolly have to put in 100k hand samples at 2nl, 5nl, 10nl etc... to reach small stakes nl which is sort of deterring me atm but it def can be done.

Awsome thread again can't say this enuf so jealous, why is it that it's mostly euro people crushing poker these days

Flop 742r I bet 180, other big fish raises to 500, I click back to 1000 he calls.
                              Turn J I jam 500 he calls.
                              River 4. I win vs J7o.
Whyd you 3-bet OTF, you think he's going to check back a lot of turns and just wanna GII vs. his range even if he does have a set here?

I get the min 3-bet sizing vs. lolfish i don't see him folding any part of his range to a min re-raise here right, but you have FE if you make it like 1500?

Sort of confused with the line you took here i normally would just call or fold in these spots vs. an unknown.

He wasn't exactly the folding type. I highly doubt he wants to raise a set to my bet otf in a 5 way pot, I thought he'd much rather keep others in. Even if he does, it makes sense for him to raise 7x/pairs and he has lots of those relative to sets. I basically just wanted to commit to the pot otf, however going ai as you said could generate some fold equity. Therefore I minclicked it hoping he'd never fold 7x. I don't even consider the idea of balancing this or trying to make a bet that can generate folds, I don't think you should against fish, especially live

So ya, bottomline, trying to commit vs 7x and if he has a set, well, goodjob you get my stack

Ah gotcha still it would be beneficial to me to put in 100k hand samples, yh you chose a really exploitative sizing vs. a non-thinking fish which is prolly really good here.

Just wanted to say this is my fav PG&C for both live and online content really jealous of what you are accomplishing here and of you haha, awsome work here man really want to get to where you are.

                              Let's do one more update....

... Cause I hit my first online +$10k month! (yes rb counts!!)

                              Stake breakdown:

Basically spent the past 3 weeks writing my thesis and running sick online. Mainly 200z, 100z and some 400nl. Obviously running very well cause I doubt I beat 400nl, let alone beat 400nl 3 handed regbattling as I played with no game selection at all. 200z going great as well

Last hand that got me over $10k!
