Here we go again with another time of, is my check on the turn too conservative? Does it induce enough bluffs on the river and looser calls on the river by doing so or should I be 3 barreling here? I tend to like the play but I love to get opinions and analyze further.
CO shows T J (One Pair, Queens)
(Pre 22%, Flop 32%, Turn 18%) Hero shows A A (Two Pair, Aces and Queens)
(Pre 78%, Flop 68%, Turn 82%) Hero wins 101 BB
Hand #2
What do we think about the turn bet when the gutter turned into a double gutter and is it right to just give up on the non scare river card? I planned on bluffing if a club hit and probably any ace.
My first thought here is I'm beat he has a bigger set. Second thought was he might play 65 or combo draw same way. Is this too strong to find a hero fold?
Ive played sparingly over the past few days. I had a couple of short sessions that I was close to break even on and then I hit an on fire type session. The on fire session was 1668 hands and I won $36.87. So that gave a real boast to the totals!
Turn:(15 BB, 2 players) T Hero checks, BTN bets 9 BB, Hero raises to 21 BB, BTN raises to 47.2 BB, Hero raises to 147.8 BB and is all-in, BTN calls 44.2 BB and is all-in
River:(197.8 BB, 2 players) 7
Spoiler:
Hero shows T T (Three of a Kind, Tens)
(Pre 82%, Flop 9%, Turn 98%) BTN shows 9 9 (Three of a Kind, Nines)
(Pre 18%, Flop 91%, Turn 2%) Hero wins 188 BB
Well it has been an interesting two and half weeks. Had kiddo the whole time so I played sparsely but I have 2 bits of good news which actually equal one really huge thing of good news and of course some bad news.
The Good News
#1 I got a $200 free chip bonus from ignition(this is of course because of how dumb I was in the past). I really was tempted to not even use it because it is scary opening up that gate. I eventually decided it is large amount and I need to learn to have discipline. I hit fire right away and built the $200 to about $900 but was nowhere near the rollover needed. By the time I hit the rollover it was down to $300, which usually would've hooked me but I stopped and withdrew it from the account entirely(figured a tiny bit of make good on the winnings I had gave away b4).
#2 ACR gave me $75 in my account. (this is probably because I used to grind the beast pretty hard a few years ago.) I decided I didn't want to play .02 /.04 on both sites so I played $1/$2 and $2/$4 stud Hi lo because I cut my teeth on the stud games on pokerstars. The games that ran were sparodic but I built it to $550 in just 3 days. The 4th day the only game over $.04/.08 running was $4/$8 so I played that. I ran like total crap(which I was probably due) and stopped at $390 and withdrew it.
It might seem simple but the discipline I showed in stopping after losing some of my winnings in those 2 instances showed huge growth for me and I am proud of that fact.
So I won basically $680 I was planning on having
THE BAD NEWS
I played a tiny bit of $.02/$.05 zone in this time and have played a couple days since. Last I knew I was running 5 buy ins to the bad just in All-ins in this short span and I have not been playing anywhere near how I was b4 the stud playing. I had the account up to about $191 but am now down to $130.38. So I have definitely let the higher stakes of stud affect my play, I will get the current hand count and progress up Saturday.
Its time for me to get back to the basics again and get this going the right direction. Expect positive updates coming frequently after the Saturday chart.
The update results are even worse than I thought they would be. Definitely need to find the leaks and get this back in the direction it was going. Here are the results and some hands will be on the way. 16,904 hands +$29.27 COLOR="Blue"]+3BB/100[/COLOR]
As I am looking at the stats it looks like my aggression level has changed
my flop cbet for first 11k hands was 56.06 (which already seemed low) and turn cbet 66.84
in the last 6k or so hands
flop cbet - 45.62 (wow is this low) turn cbet 58.44
Somehow my button VPIP went from 27.4 to 21.6 another stat that seemed a bit low even b4 this change.
Ive actually never messed with streaming or anything like it before. Its actually a thought now that I will have to consider. I got back to being a bit more aggressive and hit a bit of a hot streak. Since last update:
3906 Hands = +$40.02 20.54BB/100
This actually was a lot better but I lost $8 or so during the last session. Mostly losing an all in flip and losing with a set of Kings.
