It's not that slow.... you can probably move up stakes every 2 weeks or something along those line, there are still kids out there who are turning 18 with very little money to spare that wants to get into poker and it's the best way to do it, you don't need capital, you just need time

Rake and maniacs at that level kills your winrate making it SUPER slow to grind a profit per hour.

I never claimed it's impossible to grind from there, but SLOW, which is stupid to waste time to do that.
??? Maniacs are a great source of income. The only reason that 2NL is beatable even with high rakes is because the competition is a joke (maniacs + stations).
It's slow in terms of making any significant money, but it's easy to have a relatively high win rate.

Aww I was really excited for a sec because I thought it'd be in WSOP.NJ. GL though, 30 days is pretty tight to 100x your bankroll.

I don't think there is a time frame, he said he would like to do it in 30 days but if he doesn't he will take a couple of weeks off then carry on.

I played a 4 handed mtt with a $1 dollar buyin, 1 of the players didn't bother showing up. I also played both a $100 freeroll and a $25 freeroll. The value on these mtts is for sure going to result in me winning $3-5 in value every day, to add to the cash value.

For husngs, I scout out the lobby to make sure I don't have an opponent that is going to drop BAZAM's on me in the chat. As great as it is, anyone that knows my stream is going to be a way worse opponent compared to the standard $1 husng reg. I think I played 1 of these today and won it.

I finished out the day with a plo8 sng (won it), and 1c/2c. The tables today were absurdly soft compared to yesterday. There were a ton of fish, people punting off stacks, and 1 opponent in particular that was punting so hard I actually felt a little bad (I don't want anyone thinking I have NL 2 shills in the game donating to me).

Overall, great day. I am figuring out the landscape, and making adjustments in my game selection and play style (and making my sizes include when pots are raked). Looking forward to tomorrow!
surely husngs is best way to grind roll quickly idk what stakes run at wsop but 2s or 5s should be pretty juicy for you even with $100 rolll?

it's a lot less juicy when regs from the stream are sniping him though

Uh yeah no **** thats how you run 100 into 10k in a short amount of time. Of course you take shots and run hot. You think hes not going to take shots?

The point of this challenge is not to take any shots but to follow some sort of a bankroll management plan. This challenge isnt for the crowd that can reload $100 endlessly in new aggressive attempts, but rather the guys that have dont have more to spare than that.

He said hes gonna dedicate a month, and then more after WCOOP if hes not done. And not quit until he is. So he have no idea how long its gonna take, it depends on the sunrunning factor mostly. So it can be a "short amount of time" 4-8 weeks, and it can be longer.

This is correct. Doug stated on-stream that he may possibly be able to complete the Challenge by the end of this month, but that it may also linger into September -- in which case he might take a break from the Challenge to relocate and play WCOOP (begins Sunday, Sept. 4th) -- then restart once WCOOP has wrapped up.

The latest time frame Doug has mentioned as a possible finishing date is early October.

So proper br management=no shot taking? K.

My bad, Euro zone here, so only saw last part of Day 2 and reckoned you switched completely to cash gaming. Mixing it up is obviously the best approach but might not be achievable by lesser poker gods who might even be better off to stick to one type of game not to confuse themselves?

KUTGW though.

Did you read my post or what the challenge is about? You come off as the type of clown who reads the the first sentence of a FB post then argues endlessly not knowing what the original post was about.Adam Levine hates you.

Yes, Crazy Jim is great

To nit pick : playing freerolls is not technically OK IMO for a strict interpretation of a bankroll challange (unless the freerolls are part of a rakeback promotion). If the freerolls are truly free for all, it's like depositing the freeroll equity in your account, you're not wagering your bankroll.

Really cool of you to do this, checked out the stream yesterday and genuinely enjoyed it.

From what I know WSOP is part of 888 though...? Don't they have much higher MS rake? Should prolong things quite a bit.

Day 3: $119

Great session today. We started out down a bit, but things rapidly started to turn around in the cash games.

I mixed in a little 1c/2c plo, and the game was quite good there. Ended up cashing out a $13 stack at the table. Also helps when you flop sets in 4b pots.

We finally hit our stride in the 1c/2c NL games as well. I played a pot that was ~$10, where I opened up the co with 88, and the sb flatted. The flop was 843, I cbet and called a x/r. The turn was a 6, and my opponent decided to X/C the turn. The river was a 9 or T, and my opponent went for the XRAI. 22 no good, and we finally got some momentum going.

The best thing now is that I can start to pick some good $2 mtts to jump into, and can maybe consider playing a little 2c/4c if there are some good games going. As we get closer to $150 we will have a lot more flexibility in game selection. For now though, I am going to keep playing 1c/2c and the $1 mtts/sngs/freerolls. I am trying to make sure to do this in a very conservative manner, which is to show that the challenge is achievable with limited risk taking.

Will be back today at 5 PM PST, moving up the time slot an hour.
