Down to $83

WCG was owned hard at the $1 Heads Up Sit and Go's. He was too arrogant to put in a sample at these stakes off stream and couldn't adapt to the change in game play. He's paying for it now Big Time....

I just recently built 200€ into 5k€ in 3 Weeks with Stars zoom.
Obviously upswinging hard

So this Challenge is easely doable for a solid guy on a soft site
with some upswing/shot taken.

And much easier for a highstakes reg on a super soft site

Gl though doug hope ur not losing motivation

Stream not very euro friendly but managed to catch half hour after waking up.

Interesting that he picked an American site to do this on, was always going to be tough given how many "better" players would jump in to play vs Doug for some air time on stream.

Stars would be much better as zoom is way harder for people to "bum hunt" him and make the games significantly harder

LOL he must be devastated now and must go to the lab asap. Paying big time.. really dude really? And I think it's difficult to anybody to adjust to micros after playing anything higher than small stakes.

Day 1: Bankroll $83.09

It was a tough day. Started off at the $1 mtt tables, and things did not get going too well. After losing a few buyins there, I decided to hit the HU SNG streets.

My first opponent was pretty terrible, and I won my first 2 husngs. At that point however a lot of people who were sweating the stream starting jumping into my games, and while I wasn't playing anyone that was amazing, I was also not playing fishy $1 husngs. The 5% rake started to seem pretty brutal here, so I moved over to cash down about $3.

The cash session frankly did not go well. I had a hand I 4b A6ss(? I think?), and got it in for a $6 pot against T9o on T55ss. Never had I wanted to hit a $6 flush draw so badly.

Then there were some regs who started playing that were clearly just having a go at it. I 3b mp with JJ, and the SB just cold called QJhh. He x/jammed 982ssh, and this time I needed to hold for a $6 pot again. The board ran out Xh Xh, and he shipped the pot.

After that I ran a couple untimely bluffs and make some bad call downs. I still think there will be a ton of value in the $1 mtts/freerolls, but I am going to need to change my strategy a little bit to put myself in the best games.

I wish I could posts graphs hands, but WSOP does not allow you to use a tracker. Maybe I can start copy pasting down some HH, but lord knows if I can even get them to post in format.

Back at the grind tomorrow at 6 PM PST!

If you look at the sharkscope leader boards people make a lot more playing Hyper Heads Up Sit and Gos then they do Turbos.

There's less edge in Hypers but the rake is lower because of this. Also, you can play 3 Hypers in the time that it takes to play one Turbo.

Hyper rake on Pokerstars is 2%. That's by far the cheapest game on the site and they attract a lot of spewy recreational gamblers too.

Looks like you got unlucky in the cash. One of the guys you were playing heads up with was obviously capable of being a $100 reg and sought you out...

Best of luck with the challenge.

dunno why ur not doing this in stars where 1$ husngs, hypers and spins fill up instantly with 95% fun players and its harder for random regs to troll u in high-rake games.

I'd think bovada would be a good idea as well. With the anonymous tables you could join SnG's / cash tables and no one would know it's you. So you wouldn't have the regs trolling you to make the challenge more realistic to the experience the average player would have.

I dont think it´s trolling, its just regs that want to tell a tale for a very good price that goes something like this;

Spoiler:

hero: "I never told anybody this, about eight nine hours ago, I'm at the computer it's late and I see Doug Polk put on his stream and he goes and sits in the three cent six cent section and everyone sat out on their tables because all are over there watching and some of them playing but they're giving their money to him and say "oh", I played with the world champion", you know what I did?"

"What?"

hero: "I sat down"

"You need fifty to sixty dollars to play right in that game"

hero: "I had six but I had to know"

"what happened?"

hero: "Played tight for an hour, folded mostly then I made a score"

"with what? aces or kings? "

hero: " Rags, I had nothing, but he raised and I decided I don't care about the money, I'm just going to out play the guy, I'm going to out play this guy, this hand, I'll re-raise "

"Re-raise? You play right back at him? "

hero: "Yeah, he comes back over the top at me trying bully me like I'm some tourist, I hesitate for like two seconds then I'll re-raise and he start to time down and eventually into the timebank and on the last second he mucked it, I took it down "

hero: "I obv snapquit the table, cashed it out and waited a few weeks to rub it on my t1tties, I sat with the best in the world, and I won "

You made a ****ing move on Doug Polk you son of a bitch, so that's why you made that run at the ZOOM games"

hero: "That's right I'll do it again if I can "

Doug, could you explain why you were 3betting hands like 65s against a player pool that will generally be very loose/passive at .01/.02? Why is this better than 3betting a linear range for value? Thanks.

I think Polk can do it. I deposited 300 and ran it up to 12000 in just over a week and a half, all cash games. Now sweating the cashout process.

Goodluck to you Polk!
