I'm glad to announce I've just cleared level 1 as my bankroll reached 10k.

Will grind on 50NL till the end of august 'cause tiltbreaker doesn't allow me to open 100NL tables before 1sep. Will begin my quest on 100NL on the 1st of sep. The next 10 days will hopefully give me a nice mental buffer if the start goes badly.

After a nice session,

and after 328k hands at 50 NL the first 10k profit mark has been crossed.

I'm very glad I feel like my game is still getting better too.

Crossing my fingers already for my jump to 100 NL in september.

Nice work man.
Subbed.
Although a modest micro (stabbing 4NL atm) player I totally agree on yr BRM approach. Btw, being overrolled, over 100 bi, was also the strat of mythical Giev Money ???

To me seeing 100 bi behind helps me to meh at serious downswings and horrendous streaks of coolers, working as a cushion against tilting.

You are overrolling yourself massively. Why wait for 200 buy ins to move up at cash games? lol. This is mtt territory where you lose almost every session. At least get it down to 50 buy ins for a level...or not over 100. You are wasting a bunch of time and talent at a level too long, especially lower levels where you ABC it up.

Thanks for the advice. In one week I'll move up, probably I'll have +-110 BI for 100 NL by then. I know it's a bit overrolled, but I'm going for the long steady journey, a journey through life (or at least some years to come). I have no haste. The main goal is to be able to make progress without too much stress and in a way that almost cannot fail (therefore overrolling myself a bit). I failed already several times in the past, moving up and getting crushed by the sharks (mainly because mental game wasn't ok, this being linked to not being able to cope with the amounts of money going lost).

This time I want to be the shark.

I'll try man.

Last 3 days the poker gods were quite brutal. Running bad and also many premium hands getting cracked in so many ugly spots.

Luckily I'm a bit overrolled

I also noticed that when I'm trying to go high in a rake race (as in june) I start to open too much. So in the future maybe I'm not going to check the leaderboards anymore... (Currently in 7the place though good for €350 )

Gonna play a little bit less the next days as school will begin next week and will start to organise this a little(! half time ) bit...

Greetz, and that we all may run well.........

Hi all,

due to the start of the new school year and the extreme runbad now in september (and therefore a little bit off course mentally -> not that organized -> therefore not posted yet...)

But!

Here's the august graph:

I won €213 wo rakeback, €823 w rakeback, equalling 1.27 bb/100, and running €351 under EV.

It was a month were I tried to finish high in a rakerace. Thus I opened too much preflop, this being the main reason I think why things didn't go very well. Moreover I lost some places in the end of august, ended in 11 th place gaining only €50.

Concerning september, I'm still on 50 NL (luckily). The bad run went on and fiercer than ever. End march I was €1700 above EV. Now I'm €300 under in total. That means I'm running 40 BI under EV since the start of april, not speaking about the 3/4b flop set hit % of my opps. It's crazy. Last days I adjusted my game a bit by 3bing less, by staying away of very close decisions. I feel like I'm back at my A-level and hope to turn things around for september. Also 7th at the moment in rake race. (€225). In the weekend there are double points and I'll try to grind a little bit more than I'm used to.

In school people are reacting in various ways towards my decision of half-time work. I feel like the more intelligent people support it, while others who don't understand, are rather negative. I have to admit I stay quite vague about my poker activities so most collegues don't know and think I'm not doing a lot... I feel like explaining it publicly to all my collegues is not the way to go since most of them wouldn't ever be able to understand.

I have to admit though that the half-time boosts my mind and happiness!
I have 3 classes and imo my energy is just sufficient to own every lesson I give now!
Today I also received the final hour schedule. Friday I'm free all day!

For what my poker schedule is about, I try to play 3hrs a day. When I'm free in the afternoon, I play from 1pm-4pm. When I'm not free. I play from 4-6.30pm. Playing more seems to burn me out so I try to not exaggerate. It keeps me fresh and allows me to explore other domains too.

I'm also active on ICC in the evening, playing chess once and a while. Only at 1450 elo though at the moment, but it's logical since I didn't play for years. I'm following a super chess-channel on youtube though for already 2 years on dayly basis. For the ones who are interested, check out "chessexplained"'s channel. He is a german IM who comments his 5min games. He has great insight and a wonderful style of commenting.

Football is going less well, since I'm injured since the end of august. "Luckily" the team lost it's first two matched, therefore I'm not losing money there.

Wednesday I also had my 30th birthday. Mentally still 20 though, but fysically 40 =>30.

Thanks for following.

Hi all,

It's been a while since a posted and here's why:

September was brutal.
I lost a lot.
I hated the game again since I was 2k under EV since april... I played very badly and decided to take a break. I also withdrew €600 euro which leaves me with €8.38k to play with right now.

I'll have to grind it back up...

It was not for the first time in my life summer period want very badly. Always during summer I appear to lose focus. Probably this is due to the heat and also the fact that I dislike being at a computer when the weather is good. Maybe I just shouldn't play during summer time. Something to consider in the future...

So... I didn't play for 40 days! That's quite a break. And I needed it.
I simply went to school, played football at my club, and as for brain exercise which I seem to need, I played chess a lot. I even played two official games at the local chess club. Even tonight I was planning to go but then I saw a very interesting analysis of the books of Ernest Hemingway. Point of the lecture being that living as a man is always a lonely road, and that you should accept that in the end you are just a lonely rider and will die alone, BUT you should struggle and the beauty is within the struggle.

So many thanks to Scott Yenor for inspiring me again!
Here's the link. http://youtu.be/a_5E50fnUcM

Gonna start very smoothly in the beginning, playing some 20 NL, studying a bit, getting used to the rythm a bit.

Hopefully it turns out well. I should also make some monies since I'm working less in order to cash more.

Let's go. May all the Gods struggle at my side.
