Tommy, I won't say his name here, but a mutual friend of ours that used to drive a cab told me once you were planning to write a book with him in it. Will I recognize any of the stories from that time period?

Our colorful mutual friend is not in any of the stories in my new book. But if I ever write a novel, he will no doubt be in it!

However if you get the kindle copy...you can have Stephen Hawking read it to you. : )
Seriously, he did allow text to speech which is nice. I listened to about half of the book on a driving trip lately (had to go back to Game of Thrones sorry). Very nice anecdotes, and one of very very few poker books that you can recommend/impose on a friend or spouse who are on a long ride with you. Sadly, my wife fell asleep before the part about Mr Angelo's wife's terribly clever insights on poker. lol
Very nice stories, I strongly recommend it.

I will still have to get the book. I just wondered because I remember him making a comment about that.

Re: My new book: A Rubber Band Story and Other Poker Tales by Tommy Angelo
Here's an excerpt from my new book. It's the intro to the "Alex Stories" section.
Alex Stories
I met Alex Roberts at a poker table. He was wearing a Michigan hat. I was wearing an Ohio State hat. Even though we were playing in the same $20-40 game almost every day, and even though we were practically the only two white guys in the room, we didn’t speak to each for months. Because of the hats. I wore my OSU hat because I had just moved from Ohio and I was scared of big bad California and I was desperate to hold onto the identity I was leaving behind. Alex wore a Michigan hat because, hell, I don’t know. Maybe he flunked out of there or something, or maybe he just liked looking stupid.
We were both pros, on the grind. But we didn’t both know that at first. To Alex, it was obvious that I was playing for a living, whereas I thought he was a spazz freak nutjob tilt fiend. Eventually I came to learn that Alex is brilliant at all games, especially poker. And that he happens to go raging insane sometimes over losing, but without playing bad. Could anyone ask for a better writing subject?
Eventually we had functional conversations. Then, on a whim, we decided to drive to Reno, to a poker tournament, and that’s when we started going steady. Isn’t this a beautiful story?
Here’s a talk we had in the car on the way to Reno. We both remember it well. It took me a lot of nerve to get this question out at the time. His answer was the beginning of the beginning for us.
I said, “You know how sometimes you start acting like a maniac at the table and your veins are popping out and everyone in the room is thinking, ‘There goes Alex again?’”
“Uh huh.”
“Do you wish you didn’t do that?”
Alex’s long answer boiled down to, “Yes. Very much so.”
“I’m really glad to hear that,” I said. “In that case, we can be friends.”
After that, we started hanging out a lot. We’d play Scrabble or go to a movie or a drum circle or whatever, and talk about poker poker poker poker poker. I knew we were meant to be together when, at our first movie, we were each carrying our own dental floss. This section is five stories about us.

Why I Waited Until The Modern Age Before I Became a Book Maker
by Tommy Angelo
Because I can do book tours without leaving the house!
I did two interviews recently that just went live. The first is Part 1 of a two-part podcast with Kristy Arnett at PokerNews.com. This is in the strategy section at PokerNews, so Kristy kept the content of the questions on meaty poker stuff.

The other is a written interview with Mike Owens at Checkraze.com.
