Location

Our aim

Our aim is to provide attendees the most complete coaching experience you have ever had. We will be eating, breathing and living poker for the entire week and there will be a strong work ethic coupled with good fun and hopefully some stories to tell.

The curriculum

This is where you guys get to lead the way. I have had experience leading poker camps in the past, but they key to a successful week is definately in the planning. If you are interested in attending, please let us know if there is any specific areas you would like to talk about and improve upon.

In addition to all the online training, we are also intending on having some time focused towards live play with a focus on the (then) upcoming WSOP.

House tournament

On our WSOP warmup day we will be having the day spent working on live concepts but in the evening we will be having our house tournament. Based on 10 full paying guests for the course, the tournament will have a winner take all format with first prize being £2000 enabling the winner of the tournament to freeroll camp.

Cost

£2000 per person for the week for a private room and £1700 for a shared room.

Catering

Our chef has 11 years experience in the restaurant business and currently caters for up to 600 people in an industrial environment. The menu is as follows.....
Monday- Beef Lasagne with Garlic Bread & Side Salad
Tuesday - Chicken Keiv with New Potatoes & Fresh Veg
Wednesday - Minted Lamb Chop with Mash Poatoes Fresh Veg
Thursday - Chicken & Bacon Pasta Bake with Garlic Bread and Corn on the Cob
Friday - Grilled White Fish with New Potatoes & Minted Peas
Saturday - Chicken Tikka with Naan Bread, Rice & Popadoms
Sunday - Roast Chix/Pork with Roast Potatoes, 3 Veg & Yorkshire Pudding

The menu is subject to change and there will be a BBQ one day if the weather allows it.

please let us know as soon as possible any details of allergies or dietary requirements you may have.

If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to post in this thread or PM either myself, PizzicatoXev or Firaldo87.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Re: English Poker Camp!

Your chef with 11 years experience seems to have created a menu firmly rooted in 1982. Will there be prawn cocktail for starters?

Re: English Poker Camp!

I am unaware of any plans for prawn cocktails (which while slightly out of fasion is still rather nice) but if anyone attending camp doesn't like any particular meal we can arrange a change in the menu.

On a slightly more important note, if anyone would like to see our lead coach in action, Ghettofabolous is currently 2/70 in FTOPS 40 6max 2 day event

Hate to be Captain Obvious, but based on the coaches' précis, this seems as if it's going to be based around MTT theory, and you're running it right in the middle of Stars' SCOOP. I would have thought that the sort of player who is going to be able to afford this is also going to want to be grinding in one of the biggest online poker tournament series of the year.

Re: English Poker Camp!

Just because they are at camp does not mean they will not have ample oppurtunity for playing SCOOP events. The start time of many of the NLHE SCOOP events are well timed to be starting after planned talks and activites.

Playing during these camps is very important as its where people adjust to the information they are taking in and the new concepts they are learning are confirmed in longer term memory. Its also very important that we as coaches are able to see that the information is being absorbed and utilised in the correct way.

Its also a proven fact by virtue of other camps that Ghettofabolous (and several other coaches) has run previously that ROI's and breakthrough scores happen either during camp itself or very shortly after.

The house is fully equipped with WiFi and we will also have a ton of mobile backup connections available in case of any failure or unforseen issues. Obviously we encourage all attendees to bring any mobile backup they have available but there will be enough to go round.

I will actually be selling some of my higher buyin SCOOP action on here fairly soon so feel free to keep an eye out for that

Re: English Poker Camp!

i might be interested, dunno if i have time then, can tell in the next 2weeks for sure

some qs:

how easy is it to get from EMA (i assume nearest airport?) to that house?

how looks the daily sched? (do i have to get up at 9am? )

is this house basically in the middle of nowhere?

its basically poker 24/7 right? (or any drunken / party nights/activities planned?)

is it possible to pay via stars/ftp transfer?

any other costs at that house or is the 2k the "whole deal" (+ transportation)?

is it possible to lend a 24"+ monitor, coz i would come w my only my laptop?

and im german, so im not speaking english perfect (understand it pretty good tho)

Hi there

To make it easy I will answer your questions in turn

If your coming into EMA the best way to do it would be to come to Nottingham and meet us there and travel over to the house with those of us travelling from Nottingham. We will probably hire a minibus and do it that way as the coaches and a couple of other students are already travelling from here anyway.

The daily schedule itself is somehat loose. We expect people to be playing into the night and we wont be doing any of the major activities at stupid'o'clock in the morning. Due to our different body clocks anyway there will pretty much be a coach available 24/7 doing various different things.

The house is basically middle of nowhere though I am informed there is a pub within 2 minutes walk and I believe a village shop. I will check out the finer details about that and get back to you.

I am sure there will be drinks flowing on the night of the house tournament though (we will get some beers in for it anyway). However it is planned for it to be a heavily poker orientated week and there isn't any major parties or nights out planned.

Stars/FTP transfer is absolutely fine for payment. A 25% non refundable deposit will guarantee your place on the camp with the remainder being due by April 9th.

As far as the screen goes thats more of a toughie. I only actually have one screen myself which will of course be there (probably plugged into my desktop if a spare pc is needed). There are some big tv's etc I am sure we will be able to galvanise into screens but they will be in shortish supply I guess.

As to the price, £2K is the whole deal. There will be nothing else to pay for at the house unless you want to buy some fine cuban cigars or whatever :P We will also throw in the transport to and fro from Nottingham to the house free of charge as well.

Let me know if you have any more questions

Pretty easy (Im doing it this way!) - theres a bus from the airport every 30 mins to nottingham and I believe we're putting on a shuttle bus directly to the house from there (like 95% sure, ill find out for certain )

how looks the daily sched? (do i have to get up at 9am? )

lol hell no! The 'classroom' aspect of the day starts at 12 noon - no way am i having to get up at 8 am every day lol

is this house basically in the middle of nowhere?

Its pretty secluded but its not too far from Nottingham (like 30min/hour drive)

its basically poker 24/7 right? (or any drunken / party nights/activities planned?)

Its going to be mostly poker obv, although there will be time after the formal coaching part of the day where people can choose to either grind in the house or do whatever (theres a pub like a 5 min walk from the house so im told)

is it possible to pay via stars/ftp transfer?

yep, its a 25% non-refundable deposit to secure your place shipped to pizzicato_xev on ftp or pizzicatoxev on stars

any other costs at that house or is the 2k the "whole deal" (+ transportation)?

Its 2k all inclusive, so all your food, accommodation etc is included in the price (trips to the pub if so wished will be funded on a round by round basis unless i win an EPT before then, then its on me! lol)

is it possible to lend a 24"+ monitor, coz i would come w my only my laptop?

Ill check this - Im oldschool and just grind on my laptop so I didnt think about this lol but I can find out

and im german, so im not speaking english perfect (understand it pretty good tho)

Your english is better than mine
