Hey TruckinJoe,

we don't.

We have more than 250 full-time employees and 500 freelancers - and we have an excellent reputation in both circles & in the broader community in Gibraltar.

But of course, every company of this size has a certain fluctuation in their staff, and not always is the pairing company-employee an ideal fit.

But thanks for trolling!

How do you explain more than 70 employees fired in the 2011, plus now you are hiring almost only freelancers? So the company is not solid and profitable as stated.

Hey matuzalem,

for most positions, you actually only get the best people if you hire freelancers.
It's most obvious for poker coaches - I bet Dusty Schmidt or Collin Moshman would not want to come for Gibraltar.

The same counts for the most passionate people for our community (forum moderation). Or take even customer service - someone who plays poker & understands the difficulties with tracking, bonuses etc.pp. already will be able to help our community much better.

So in a nutshell, we believe that we can only get the best news writers, translators, community managers and poker coaches if we integrate them in our team, independent f where they live.

If you're interested in what we as a company do, you can check:

1. tradimo.com - our trading school that will launch soon.
2. etruvian.com - our group page that will launch soon.
3. icans-gmbh.com - our IT company.

tradimo.com can also be seen as a beta test for our new web platform - which will also carry PokerStrategy.com in the future.

Re: You're hired.. FIRED

I can confirm the given statement.

PokerStrategy has a very good standing not online in the poker community but also in Gibraltar. Their move from "balancing out" their team from having a massive full-time team of employees to bring in more freelancers has been a great decision and should actually be adopted by some of the other gaming companies located on the Rock to improve the quality of their service.

Let's face it. The majority of employees in companies based in Gibraltar don't have a clue about poker or as a matter of fact a clue about poker players and their needs.

This stretches from customer support all the way up to affiliate managers who never played a hand let alone have a clue on player retention. Let's not even start talking about the marketing teams.

Therefor I believe PokerStrategy has done the right thing by reducing their number of employees in Gibraltar to increase the quality of their team by hiring freelancers from around the world who do actually know what they're talking about when they talk about poker, poker strategy and so on.

I don't see why not more companies go this route (poker or any other business) since you can build and manage very effective teams online thanks to modern technology
