What did villain have?

This was at Live 1/2.

I get KK in middle position. I raise to 10. Villain 1 calls and Villain 2 raises to 30. I am shortstacked so I just shove the rest of my stack (about 40 on top of the 30). Villain 1 debates for awhile then calls. Villain 2 basically snap calls.

Flop came out 10 10 2 they ended up checking it down. I show KK, Villain 1 shows JJ and Villain 2 mucks.

I have been thinking this over and debating what he had. Only thing I could think of would be AK. He was a decent player. If he had QQ he would have bet on the flop and not checked it down.

Re: What did villain have?

AK is often the first hand people start to use to open up their 3bet game, seems like the most likely choice to me.

If villain is anything like me (I play a Laggy style) he has anything in the top 20% of hands

3 bet + check it down is almost always AK. Any other hand he 3bets with doesn't check it down.

I have to agree with this. A hand like QQ would have made a strong bet on that kind of flop against another hand that showed weakness for protection and/or value. A squeeze in position with a hand like AK is not very far fetched at all. It could have very well have been AQ for that matter. Too bad you only had 40 in front of you
