Playing the 1/2 NL at the Isle.

Villain 1 ($600) is a young Asian guy, who is the only other really competent player at the table. I've been playing with him for a while now and have seen him 3-bet, make thin value bets, lay down top pair, etc.

Villain 2 ($150) is a classic OMC. Loose passive pre-flop, passive post flop, only raises nutted hands.

Hero ($350) has been running pretty bad and others have recognized it. Got it in good twice all-in on the flop and was run down. V1 views me as competent.

OTTH: Button straddles to $5, 2 limps to hero in MP with 33, Hero calls. V1 calls from LJ, V2 calls from CO, Button checks.

Flop ($30): 356

Checks to Hero who bets $20. V1 calls, V2 calls. Limpers fold.

Turn ($70): K

Hero leads out $35, V1 raises to $90, V2 folds. Hero? We have about $290 behind and the pot is approx. $195.

I'm not sure what we beat, but also feel like this would be a very exploitable fold. What are your thoughts?

This is a very tough spot: I like shoving the turn, hoping to be called by hands like A7dd and A4dd. If villain is a 'competent' player like you say, it's a very close call equity wise if he has these combo draw like hands. Obviously if he has a higher set we get snapped off and are dead.

I don't think villain would just flat the turn with a higher set though, which would add credit to just calling the turn and then re-evaluating on rivers. The problem with this line is the fact that there are a lot of bad rivers, any 4, 9, 2, or diamond aren't great.

Because of these reasons I like getting it in and hoping villains comes along with hands like combo draws

Shoving is awful. Call and c/c basically all rivers. Your hand is too good to fold, but I sure as hell don't want to play for stacks with the 5th nuts in a limped multiway pot.

is 42 or 47 in this guy's limping range? Seems like a stretch. I'd expect 55, 66 a lot, but also 78, 8d9d, Ad7d, Ad3d, Ad4d, K3s, K5s, K6s, overplayed 56.

Definitely not folding or raising. Calling turn and c/c most rivers.

This looks like a value raise since you've bet two streets (one into multiway), so I'm think that a shove won't realize fold equity, but being deep against competent opponent makes this closer.

I'd still call and evaluate river.

Quick edit, turn pot is ($86) after rake, not the ($70) shown in the hand history.

As played, what do you do?

I bet $45-50 on the turn. As played, I call the check raise.

It is tough playing this out of position. When a 2, 4, 7, 9, or diamond hits, what do you do? What about when any of the other cards come out? Any river bet from your opponent puts you in a tough spot unless you try to lead out from a smallish size to set your own price.

Raise pre. More on the flop, more on the turn.

As played, this is a fairly trivial call. You're getting nearly 4:1 to hit a boat and you may be ahead. Shoving mostly gets called by better.
