show a bluff early in a session for a tight player? show a bluff early in a session for a tight player?

I play at a local 1-2 NLHE game. Most of the players are loose and play a lot of hands. I play and also have an incredibly tight image.

My question is, should I show a bluff early in a session and then go back to playing tight or is giving away free information generally bad?

thanks

Free information isn't bad it's live poker. That said showing like 1 bluff in the beginning of a session is pretty silly. It's 1/2 bud people are gonna pay you off at all times.

If you really want to create an image for yourself, raise the first few playable hands as soon as you sit down. Also try to make sure your first 3b is a bluff.

So in a perfect world, you are just sitting down, chips are still in rack, you are putting your jacket on back of seat, etc, and someone opens $8, and you look down at ATo or JTs, make it $25 and go back to setting up your jacket.

But really don't do any of that and play tight and still get paid.

If the other players are actually habitually not paying you off then showing a bluff can be worthwhile. It's usually not, the bad players mostly don't adjust to how others are playing and the better ones will realize what you are doing. If the other players are not calling then add in some bluffs until they do adjust. It only gets tricky when there are some opponents who fold and some who won't, in that case keep track of which group they are in and bluff the ones who fold too often.

no need to ever get fancy at 1/2.

Most 1/2 players do not know what a range is let alone how to balance one.
