What do you guys think is the standard?
Maybe like a 42/7? Dunno, playing around with pokerstove here..
VPIP of these hands is 42%...
A2s+
A5o+
K2s+
all broadways and broadways with a 9
all suited with both cards being 7 or higher
65o+
all suited connectors
53s+
96s+T8o+

Play position; adjust depending on how the table is playing. The numbers seem kind of arbitrary for live play which has such a varying degree of skill level/smaller sample size and 100x more limping than online play making these ranges harder to quantify/apply. Attributing optimal VPIP/PFR numbers seem weird to me... Maybe someone else has the opposite opinion though.

It seriously depends on their mood.

Look, we all know this. Live players don't think in terms of ranges. They will play 35s one hand, then fold 79s the next.

Ranges change.

^ That's the point I kind of beat around. Online, typically one's "cut-off raising range" for example is fairly consistent. Live is different, people make moves because they're "bored" or to try something new or for no real rationale at all. It's one of the reasons I feel Pokerstove is less affected live than online (but still a valuable tool) because there is so much variation in ranges.

I'd say 65/5/2 is very common and most people have stats very similar to that. Use stove.....and see the hands that go to showdown...etc....there are very few players who play less than 50% vpip. Btw the 2 refers to 2% 3bet. It's not uncommon to see people play 70-80% vpip

Bump for canoodles.

This is not that hard. The question is ****. There isn't an answer. There is a sliding scale. Figure out each villain as best you can, not some estimate of the average.

22/5 is perfect. Never adjust.
