River spot with flush

Stacks: Hero $950, villian ~$100

Reads: villian sat down maybe 15 min ago and has limped in preflop in most hands but nothing note worthy postflop and hasn't shown down yet. Other than my stack size and some table talk about how I killed the table earlier when I stacked the big fish, he has no read on me.

7 handed, hero raises utg to $10 with pocket 10s, including the 10 of clubs. Only caller is villian in BB

Flop: 9 7 3 with 2 clubs (I think it was the 9 and 7 but not 100% sure)

Hero bets $20, villian calls

turn: A of clubs

Villian checks, hero checks

river: K of clubs

Villain shoves for ~$70

Hero...?

Pretty easy call IMO. If he had the Qc he probably takes a stab at the turn.

Lol no. Villains are not going to turn a random 1 card Q high flush draw into a bluff and donk into us as the PFR.

I probably fold to the overbet readless. If I had any reads that the guy is a maniac, or if I've seen him bluff, it might turn it into a call.

Grunch.

Bet the turn.

How often does villain have an A here compared to 9x, T8s, smaller PPs etc... If he shows up with A9, whatever, bink a club.

River is really odd, but I'd be inclined to call. Only Qc/Jc hand that make sense are AxJc/AxQc that were to stubborn to fold the flop.

In his spot I am all in all day vs chip leader to double me up when I hold the nut flush, over bet the river to disguise it as a possible bluff imo

*facepalm* Being the "chip leader" means nothing at a cash game.

The problem I see is how often does villain show up the the Qc/Jc here. If it came low clubs, or even running Qc, Jc, I could find a fold. Villain having the Ac/Kc then would be way more likely.

We know nothing on villain. He could shove 9x8c here thinking it's the nuts.

What do you expect villain will call us with when literally the scariest card in the deck comes off? Any random pair he has now has a garbage tiny flush draw which probably doesn't call.

Why do you expect random 1/2 players to donk shove as a stone bluff on the river?

Re: River spot with flush

Although this was a relatively small pot, I think this is a decently interesting spot, and the varying replies seem to support that. I'm going to post my thought process and would love to hear what people think.

Pre-flop: It's live 1/2 and villian calls a raise from the BB so as far as I'm concerned he can have almost ATC.

Flop: Villian calls a near PSB. He probably raises 2 pair or better, so at this point I think it's safe to say he either has a 9, A-7, or a straight/flush draw. IMO, it's pretty likely he's drawing.

Turn: I can't do anything but check back the turn. There's a little less than $50 in the pot and villian has around $70 left, so any bet forces me to call a shove.

River: I think villian's range is either a flush or total air. The main question in my mind was "could he be doing this with a worse flush and not even be considering that a 4th club hit/still thinking he's betting for value?" Since he was BB he has ever single flush draw combo in his range. I'm getting a little better than 1.5 to 1 on a call, so I need to be good around 40% to be breakeven.

I'll post results pending some more replies.
