i can't stress this enough, flatting the turn is NOT ok. It's absolutely awful and if you are ever doing it against a villain who walks into a casino at 3am you are massively screwing up.

I don't agree bc if we raise turn then he is folding out all of his bluffs. By flatting we give him the option to catch a str8 on the river and/or bluffing into us on the river.

Agreed but then wouldnt we also be folding out all his bluffs, Qx hands and str8 draws as well. Would rather get value out of those hands on the river. And if he does have Kx he's not folding river either whereas all the above mentioned ranges would have folded to us if we raised turn. I just think we lose value out of raising turn.

Re: Raising river for thin value. NL200 Live

Basically a rehash of what everyone said but the guy has Kx here a huge amount of the time and fish can't fold trips so even as played jam the river and get it in. Only 3 combos of Kx have you beat and since you hold two 6's K6 is unlikely. Jam and watch him tank call with K10.

Also when you're this deep you need to make your sizing bigger so you can get stacks in. Sit down for a little while with a calculator and a pen and paper and figure out what kind of bet sizes let you get it all in in a raised and 3 bet pot pre with stack sizes of like 50, 75, 100, 150, 200, and 250bb.

Doing that for like 30 minutes one time should really help you see how big you need to make your bets and how many bets are necessary to get it in i.e. I'm 150 blinds deep so I need to put in at least one raise on the flop or turn to get a pot sized river shove.
