Villain (HJ): 50s white guy, unknown ($300)
Hero (MP): mid 20s Asian, TAG image ($350)

One limper to hero who makes it $12 with T8. Villain calls, limper calls.

Flop: J84 ($36)

Checked to hero. Hero bets $18. Could check here but I have so much equity and also want to fold out hands like AQ/KQ. Villain calls limper folds.

Turn: Q ($71)

Hero bets $40. Villain quickly calls.

River: K ($151)

Probably would've found out on the turn if villain had two pair or better. I also block some value hands he could have slowplayed.

QT is possible. Way more Jx combos that are possible like JT J9. Could also have 98. King high spade draw is probably one of his better hands. Villain's range has to be too weak to defend vs a river bet often enough here. Fire away?

It's always hard to bluff an unknown villain because you can't really put him on a range yet and you don't know what sort of sizing is best. You can't really know yet if his range is too weak to defend on the river.

I'm inclined to check. You beat his air and you can't be sure his non-air hands will fold. You probably can get his JX flop calls to fold to a bet so a 3rd barrel probably looks OK also.

If you do want to bluff then $75/$80 looks good. You don't want to bet big in this situation. Villain probably has some of Qx and Kx bluff catchers, will have backed into a flush occasionally and might turn up with T9 sometimes. You want his weak one pair that are slightly better then yours to fold so something that looks like a value bet is fine.

OP - If you're a mid-20's Asian guy, no matter how you play, you almost certainly have a bluffy image to a white guy in his 50s.

Flop bet is fine, I'd go a bit bigger especially if you're going to barrel turn. Not going to get him off a J with two half pot bets. Turn is a good card to barrel.

I don't think I'd fire the 3rd barrel on the river. While K looks like a scare card, when you barrel the Q you're saying that the Q hit you, and you had some Qx that hit turn. Most of those hands would hate the river K and check behind. Even AA would slow down. The Q and K on turn and river also give him a lot of two pair to go with his Js. You are ahead of air still anyway, so if he had some Asxs you win.

Typical passive villain backs into lots of 1pair, 2pair and better hands on this run out. Typical stickiness and poor hand reading skills mean they'll struggle to lay down QX+ on the river.

Your pair beats his flush draws that missed pairs on turn/river and all you can beat with a bluff is JX, 99 and TT and stronger 8X. Your flop and turn sizing looked weak and precludes a realistic looking big value bet on the river. Best to check I think.

I'd have bet flop and turn much bigger looking to set up a natural looking river shove for when I make it or stealing on good bluff run outs. I'd still check this river though.

Yeah, on how this hand was played I don't really see you beating anything. And against an unknown playing 1/2, I can't really rely on him folding much.

Bet more on the flop for sure, prefer checkback on river
