Pot control on Turn, or Wimp out ? Pot control on Turn, or Wimp out ?

£1/£2 time-session NLHE Uk

2 hands before the end of a 4 hr session.

Am winning £50, and have a stack of £425.
Table has become loose, over the last hr, with 4 players regularly adding a £4 straddle, and 2/3rd the time, this straddle is re-raised.

Main villain is an young eastern european, who, has a stack of £325, and has been pretty snug. No reason to think, hes not playing decent holdings.

I have been pretty active over the last hr, as have seen some hands, but, have always taken pot down, with a c-bet on turn.

I staddle £4. and look at AA

Two active asians call the straddle, and the villain in BB raises to £9.

I re-raise to £35, and just villain calls.

Pot £81

Flop 10108

Villain bets £35, I call.

Pot £151

Turn Q

Villain checks. I was unsure what to do here. I put him on some sort of pair, maybe 88/99/JJ/QQ and hes unlikely to have AK etc, and I block flush also.

I was v close to betting £65 or so, but, really wasn't sure what to so, if he came over the top. So, in the end, just checked.

River J Making final board, 10108QJ Villain leads out £54 .. hero ?

Turn check is fine. You could bet too. I'd bet/fold without the club.

I'm giving him $54 otr. Vs. normal sizing id just sigh fold.

Pre could be a smidge larger but w/e you have the best hand in poker.

V raised out of the BB and then called a healthy RR. I think he has pretty much JJ, QQ, or maybe AK here. I think he'd 4b KK or AA and would let almost everything else go.

OTR, you don't beat 99, TT, JJ, QQ, or AK. You beat KK and chop with AA, but I don't think either of those plays like this.

I think it's a clear fold.

Leading out against the reraiser in that spot screams that he has a T or a flush draw. You lose to both on the river. Unless he is bad enough to play 99 like this...oh wait 99 even got there. I would fold.

We need to be good 20% of the time, but we'll have to look deep in the sofa cusions to find that one coin in 5. I won't fault a call, but I don't see it. We're ahead of KK and maybe AQ though that won't always bet the river. Heck neither will KK. Red A8s? I fold and lie, say I have 55 and was trying to steal.

BTW I'm fine with pot control ott, river is the worst ever.

Thx for replies.

V grateful Turn wasnt a clear bet, which I missed.

I called the £54, pretty much expecting to be beat .. and sure enough, he had 9h9d for a backdoor straight.

I think I would have raised the flop. What T does he have? If he has a flush draw, I want to make him pay.

As played, I can go either way on the turn.

Now that I'm here, I'd sigh call the river, but folding is probably best.
