pockets 3's 175BB deep.

villain - 40s asian male. Sitting with $500 and is chip leader. has been playing very tight since I sat down. Only saw him raise 3 pots the 4 hours we've been playing together. Once he shows AA, the other AK, the other he folded to a raise.

However, reg sitting next to me says he is loose in previous game. Don't know if this is important.

Hero - White male in 20s, villain saw me shove with flush draw to bust my first $100. Also saw me shove pocket 8s PF and win against AJ. Also saw me tank for 2 minutes then shove a set of 4's on a 4x 7 10 board. effective ~ $350

hero is in on the HJ with pocket 3's
villain is in MP

folds to villain who raises to $12
1 caller in front me
Hero calls
folds around.

flop comes 7810
villain bets 1 $15
folds to hero
hero...?

Since most asian males in their 40s are gamblers at heart, do not continue with this hand. They hate to lose to white males in their 20s. He will do anything in his power to beat you in this hand.

Re: pockets 3's 175BB deep.

set it or forget it for me here , he's betting an extremely wet board into 2 villians , i don't see any reaosn to continue with 33 here.

maybe if the pot was hu and we had the right history/read we could float to represent one of the many scare cards but i don't see the point in doing anything else but folding here

Fold ainec do you have the 3 of clubs? (even if 3 ott you might be no good)
The only card you want to see ott is a red 3 lol.
I might call here if the bored was like J52r if a player doesn't like to fire more than one barrel but definitely not calling in this spot. Especially against an azn

Re: pockets 3's 175BB deep.

The question should be - why would you bet here?

Are we actually considering a call? Why? You should fold so fast your cards fly across the room.

No set....no bet, is sound advice for these games when it comes to pp's under TT that don't flop as an overpair.

Against him being a nit and his possible range, would a raise never take down this pot? I guess what I am more or less asking has nothing to do w/ my pocket pair but the opponents range and what he could call a raise with.

No.
Don't get FPS.
That's not how you win at 1/2nl.
Please don't ever try to bluff nits when they raise pre then bet flop.

Fold easily, unless I'm missing something.

easiest fold on the planet. this flop hits his range fairly hard.

In that case, just play any two cards every time and just look for spots to bluff the nits out of a hand.

If you don't think that's a smart strategy, then you have your answer here, too.
