Paid to play but not bust the game

I'm just trying to figure out some optimal strategies for my situation. Any input would be appreciated.

I have a job at a poker room, and my job is to get games going, and play in the games as need be. However, the room is not a large room and we usually have one table going, and sometimes two. My dilemma comes from the idea of playing in the games but not busting every player in the game. It's a very tough way to play poker, because if i bust players and bust the game its a loss from the job perspective. So, obviously i play super tight, but i don't know if i should buy in short, max, or what? The players are not super strong on average, and most of the time i get a call when i shove 20-30 bb's. They honestly pay no attention to the fact that i play tight.
Any advice on optimal play in these situations? The game is $1-$2 NLHE or $1-$1 NLHE. Buyins are from $20 - $200 in $1-$1, and $40-$200 in $1-$2.

Lol what?
This has to be a level.

So you're asking how to be a good prop player?
You use your own money correct?
Why would you be concerned about winning TOO much? hahahhah
As a prop you are there to fill an empty seat and create action until more players come in, not to give away your money. You still want to be winning...

if they all take your money are they going to give it back to you to keep the game going? i don't think so.

play your game the way you play. personally, i would just play tight and valuetown opponents. if you get a big hand and get action, who cares if you bust one player every couple of hours?

I was a prop player from 1994-2010 in California. For the most part I was never told how to play. I think as long as you're polite and don't crticize the other players you should be fine. If management has a problem with your playing style, then it's not a job you want anyway. And like another poster said, nobody is going to take it easy on you, when you hit a bad streak.

I was a prop player too. Consider your payment (hourly i guess?) as a form of rakeback.
Play anyway you like, but be nice and polite.
I'd advocate always plaing with max buy in possible, to cover every fish at the table (or not playing the table at all if you are not sure you beat it). As any one with half a brain can beat $1/2, and the max is really small - go for max.

As it is a casino, I'd also suggest playing really nitty and getting it in with goods vs. gamblers. Spend your time analising other peoples plays, ranges, etc. Spend your time productively, while mucking 90% of hands.
