Local casino on a Monday night. i sit down at the $200 buy in table with 8 other guys who all have stacks above $500
Very first hand..
$7 Raise on the high jack I look down at Q10spades in big blind I call
Flop: Qc 2c 4d
I check he bets 15 I call
Turn is 10h
I check he bet 25 I call
River is 6d
I check he bet 30 I raised to 100 he shoves for my remaining stack... what do I do?
I'm under the gun and look down at KhKs I raise to $7 and get 2 callers.
Flop is Qh 10s 9h
I bet 20 guy to my left folds and button goes all in for $245
He recently went all with a flush draw and thought me might be drawing again I call he shows J8

1. Fold pre readless, as nitty as it is
I prefer c/r turn. Can't fold now; should have just shoved on your own.
2. Check flop is probably better here, especially with Kh.
As played fold. Terrible board, you block draws, and the guy just put in very many BBs.

Don't give results if you want useful advice. Once we've seen what he has, it taints our advice, even if only subconsciously.
Using T for ten is the standard convention and makes hand histories much easier to read.
Hand 1
When he shoves, there's something like 300 in the pot and it's 60 to call. Call and hope he has a smaller 2P. If he has you beat, it's just a cooler. I'd suggest folding speculative hands such as this one to a raise preflop until you're more comfortable playing in spots like this. As you get more experience, you'll find spots where (preflop) this can be a fold, a call, or a reraise.
Hand 2
Reads on V are important. How big was his shove on the FD hand? There's a difference between shoving something around the size of the pot and a huge overbet shove here.
IME, there's almost 0 chance that this is a pure bluff. I doubt it's even a combo draw. It turns out that if V is doing this with the sets (QQ, TT, 99), or 2P (QT, Q9, T9), or a combo flush draw, he has 60% equity overall and you're not getting the right price to call. Even though you have the gutshot and the BD 2NFD, you should fold.

Tons of leaks in your thought processes. Read some books about the logic of betting, calling and raising and you will see a difference in your outlook and results. GL

First hand the guy flopped a set
And the second hand I had this thought in the back of my mind that this should be a fold but I said **** it and put my chips in.

Hand 1 is a snap call. Hand 2 I laugh and fold. Best case scenario we are flipping and I don't think enough people are balanced at low stakes when they put in big raises. This kind of bet screams a non-nutted big hand like TT, J8 makes a lot of sense in hindsight. If he had KJ i don't think he jams.
