Re: Old Question, New Forum, New Opinions? (Be a sport Kurt lol)
The majority of the time, the cards in this situation are not going to matter. We're both missing the flop, we have the lead so I'd estimate at least 60% of the time, it's going check, bet, fold. 12% we flop a set and win most of those, most times with 0 value. Very little do I think this situation plays for stacks without a cold deck.
haha, this thread is getting the same polarized answers as the first thread did years ago. And by the way was never resolved. So much of the answer here lies in the facts of .....
1- villains calling range OOP (which "should not" be much except pairs if player is truly good)
2- Playability of hand over and above the basic hot/cold equity vs villains range.
3- Ability of hero to calculate how well he will play and win without a hand.
How well all these factors coexist for each hero will be different, and therefore the list will be different.
In the example here, i would hate to have 88 vs a really tough villain who calls a 3 bet of mine OOP. He will have a pair better than mine a ton. (like 99 TT even JJ). My hand has hardly any outs vs his hand. It also has low playability for semi bluffs etc. It just sucks balls.
