Most definitely. Was breakeven at 50NL and 100NL online with no study ethic or poker stoving. Times are a changin and its time to get some $crilla.

Impossible to tell, my April results are screwed up and I don't even know what live sessions are cash and which are MTT's. I just labeled them as live/online. Also I do not log the amount of hrs I play, for the most part I just start playing around the same time and quit around 8 hrs later unless the game is good(I'll play longer). I do have a stop-loss of 3 BI which I only ignored once because it was prob the best game I've ever seen in my life.

I am pretty sure increment can only be used as a noun. Do you mean segmenting? If so, that's super important. Completely segregate your poker bankroll from your life roll when you are first starting to become serious about turning poker into a serious income stream.

Right now, I love having a respectable day job with good upside and grinding poker 20hrs a week for a solid hourly. Would hate to go pro in poker unless I could make $200k+/yr like my roomate.

You play for a living and you don't keep meticulous notes? Get a program like poker income pro or poker journal or just use excel. Does your CPA accept records in the form you've shown us?

He was asking about hourly rate. I'm not keeping track of hrs on the felt and stake because I don't see the value in knowing an hourly winrate. The extra effort just isn't worth it for me just to be able to say "I make $x/per hr."

I was thinking of setting my "stop losses" at 200bb, maybe buying for 200+50 for top ups, and leaving if I ever have around 50bb. this will take a lot of will as most people feel like gambling the last few bb, but I find it a huge leak.

Another promise I made to myself is to leave the moment I am thinking "oh one more round, or oh i will leave in 30 mins"

Lastly, I will no longer play longer sessions trying to break even as I noticed this happens very rarely.

I could not find a trhead on stop losses, if anyone has an idea pls let me know.

Any other advice?
I've talked to people about stop-loss and it seems most people have one but don't use it. IMO it should be player/game dependent. If u are more on the LAG side I'm thinking 5 BI sounds about right, more conservative players def less. If the game is really high variance(lots of action, no cheap flops) ur normal stop-loss should be adjusted. If u are rolled for the game u are playing, don't tilt easily or play well/the same even when losing, it may be unnecessary. If ur a winning player every hour on the felt is +EV. Picking up when ur losing is ok, but the better play is to make adjustments and play every hand optimally whether ur up/down/even.

I was talking more about the risk of getting audited. It happens to people with unusual sources of income depositing large but irregular amounts of cash to the bank. The more detail you have the better. I noticed all your session results are round numbers ending in "0" for example. Sorry for being a nit, you clearly crush the games so congrats on that. The live grind is so damn brutal.

I use a rounding system so that every session that ends with 5 is rounded to the next highest 0. It's going to inflate my results slighty(because its never rounded down) but it makes it easier to tally.

Re: *** Official Winrates, bankrolls, and finances ***

BR Question:
Say you have a $2100 roll, and the closest casino is 3.5hrs away.

Games: Edge level based on 1to10 with 10 being high.

The weekly homegames offered with a 15min drive are all 2/5 $300min on Sat, Mon, and Wed, but sometimes these games change format to 2/5/10 $500min. Edge:7 due to regs

35-40 mins away offers a juicy 1/2 game on Thurs and a juicy 2/5 $300min on Mon. Edge unknown, but probably 8 from hearsay.

2 hrs away offer good 2/5 $200min games on Sun, Tues, Wed, and Fri. Edge: 10(have a lot of reads on players)

Now, I have classes on Tues, Thurs, and Fri. So the best schedule would be to play on Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs.

My girlfriend lives 3 hours away, so we try to spend as much time as we can with each other on the weekends, but some weekends I will be able to play.

What would be the best option with the $2100 roll? Playing 1/2 once a week until I get to like 5K, then take small shots here and there or what?

You should write test questions for the SATs.

So do you stop playing poker all together?

I used to be fully rolled for 1/2 w/ shots at 2/5 when I was playing 30 hrs a week. But then I decided to get a degree and spent that on school, and all the 1/2 games went bust.

I'm thinking 40bb 2/5 on tues and we'd and 100bb 1/2 on third would be the best option. Would give me 10 buyins

I'd go 60bb 2/5 if you really feel it's a 10 on your rank scale. 7 buyins. Odds are good you won't have a -7 BI stretch right off the bat.

I have gone long stretch on small BR in games that I have overwhelming edge.

It's possible, but you might have to sacrifice some EV to reduce variance.
