Depends on his life/job situation.

Given his volume and that he is playing 1/2 I think it's fair assumption he isn't playing full time as a pro.

Let's face it, $2/5 isn't that much different than $1/2. More aggression but not marked difference.

Jace, I'd take 3k and use it to play 2/5 when the games look okay. If you burn though it, you drop down. Who knows? You may run great and stay at 2/5.

Best of luck.

Im much more uncomfortable playing 2/5 just because i dont defend against 3bets well. Not horrible, just not a strength of mine. Quite a bit more 3betting imo

Id say there is a huge difference between 1/2 and 2/5, but probably not a huge amount in the preflop aggression area.

Jace, you know we play at the same place and from what Ive seen of your posts, you can beat 2/5. Give it a shot, Sir.

I'm seeing a few "100 hrs of live profit so I'm going pro" threads in pg&C. For all my whining about playing/running bad lately it's been over about 125 hrs and I've just been break even. It's easy to lose perspective when your volume is down. I still have over 20BI. My winrate is still >10bb/hr. This is for anyone freaking out about breakeven/downswing. It's short. It happens. Get over it.

I do this too for the shortest of downswings. I really need to play more hours so I get through them faster and they shouldn't be stressful, or just work on my mental game.

I just passed 1000 hours of live 2|5

Profits: $41,426
Promotions: $2850
Hours: 1006.5
Win-rate: $43.99/h
SD: $465/h

My opinion of Florida games is that they are soft, but reports are exaggerated. The games I played in Michigan, Horshoe Hammond and Vegas during the WSOP were all softer on average. I may just be biased because I ran extremely good over a short sample in those games, though, and am probably running slightly bad in Florida games. I moved to Florida at about 125 hours and you can see that is where my graph goes wonky.

I hope to do better over the next 1000 hours. My game definitely still has plenty of leaks to fix, and I can work harder at table selection than I do right now. Unfortunately I don't feel 2+2 is doing much to improve my game anymore, so I am probably going to try to devote my study time in other ways.

Good job man. You crushed it - and still had ~450hr breakeven stretch. Kinda gross

Just trying to keep myself honest at the end of April...95% at $2/$5, rest at $1/$2. Except I took my first shot at $5/$10 one day last week and got crushed.

Jan 2017 110.5 $4,022.00 $36.40
Feb 2017 112.5 $4,561.00 $40.54
Mar 2017 162.4 $3,163.00 $19.47
Apr 2017 103.8 $4,938.00 $47.56

2017 Total 489.3 $16,684.00 $34.10

Yah nice stats browni. Never hurts to shot take >20 BB's/hour to cushion you for the inevitable downswing.

I'm looking forward to rejoining the land of the living soon (final interview results pending).

Well, it's the first day of May, so my April results are locked up:

A pathetic 36.8 hours for a meaningless sample size, -$135.
Dropped a BI playing PLO when I knew I was too tired to play well in a game I don't have a lot of experience in. Oh well.

Brag: Winning in 2017.

Beat: Up $655 in 196 hours at 1/3 NL. (enquire within regarding my coaching rates, ldo)

Variance: Up more than double what I was up in May of 2012 which ended up being a banner year where I booked my second biggest yearly results at 1/3 NL. Funny feeling that ain't gonna happen this year.

I actually lost 55% of my sessions in April...i think I lost every big pot I was in except for 1...
Variance can suck it...
A crappy $35/hr with 172 worth of them.

I just hit 2000 hours. My win rate in my 2nd 1000 hours was 2% higher than my 1st 1000 hours. Obviously not enough to mean anything other than maybe I'm not just a fish on a heater.

My StnDev was 10% higher in my 2nd 1000 hours but still very low at only $276/hr (55BB/hr). I did really open up my preflop game which probably resulted in the slightly higher variance. I think my game has gotten better in most regards except for tilt control. I made more dumb moves in my 2nd 1000 hours after getting frustrated from running cold for hours and that stopped my win rate from increasing as much as I feel like it should've.

My 2 priorities going forward are controlling "entitlement tilt" and playing more in deep games. I just REALLY hate the Hard Rock and that's where the deep games are. Blah.

Congrats to everyone so far on their 1st 1/3 of the year results.
Seems like most people are winning this year. Good to hear.

I started the year off with a bang, and I'm down $170 in cash over the measly sample of 74.8 hours for a whopping -$2.27 an hour.

I'd be slightly sad about it but:
Spoiler:
I'm up 10.2k in tournaments over 53 hours. Variance gunna variance.

Keep up the hard work everyone and wrap up the first half of the year in strong fashion.

And don't forget to make your tables a fun place to play while you're winning all the money.

@ Mike

My 1000-2000hr segment was 96% of my 0-1000hr segment.

My 1,362 hours since have been at 44% of the rate I was sitting on at 2000hrs.

I don't put in nearly the hours most of you guys do given the fact that I have a job. But anyway:

In 2017, I'm up $7200 over 203 hours for about $35/hour. Mix of 1/2 and 1/3 deepstack and normal 2/5. Ran very good while playing 2/5 which is helpful. In fact, in 3 of my 2/5 sessions I'm up a total of $9300, so actually down over all other sessions.

Over my full sample since last year (when I got a new phone) I'm up $21k over 500 hours for a $42/hour win rate.

What tracking apps are you guys using (iOS)? I currently have PokerMate, which is nice but doesn't do graphs and has no export function, so i'd like to switch to something else ASAP - gonna be a pain to move my data over.

I just use Excel. It's easy to use and versatile enough to do graphs or any statistics you want.

I use Excel and PokerJournal (although not sure if that app is being updated anymore?).

ETA: Looks like PokerJournal isn't compatible with iOS8, good thing I'm not planning on updating my iPhone, yikes.

I ve tried a lot and I am currently using both Poker Income and Rungood. I find that Poker Income is the best and most intuitive app.

If you want to play with your stats in Excel, you can still export & email your results.

Poker Analytics is prob best if you are into tracking enough to subscribe (can't buy the app)
