Took a 3 hour nap, after cussing my bm out. Bitch is stupid as **** I tell you. I wake up and freakin Scott Seiver is in the game, what a dork. I really don't like that guy.

There's such wild variations of games across the nation that it could be true. All I really know is that there are few to none beating 2/5 in Hammond for significantly more than 50/hour.

I just looked at my winrate in Vegas, and it's in the 70 range over about 120 hours. So... maybe there?

You know you crush that game, though. You know that these 9 buy ins have only dented your win rate a bit. Go back and calculate your win rate for the last 3 months--you're probably still in the neighborhood of $70/hr or something ridiculous like that.
Yeah my winrate this year dropped from $78/hr to $65/hr after last two sessions.

Doesn't make it feel any better though. You never know when you'll be out of a downswing. Could take 2 days, could keep running bad and be stuck until next month.

The key element is having enough players to donate to the game.

The $2/5 at TS is almost like a home game because it's usually the same 20-25 people that go there all the time. People get pretty social and there's lots of gossiping. Like when I go to the casino today the entire room will know that I punched a hole in the wall last night lol.

It's not that the game is uber-soft or anything, I just know everyone's tendencies so I know how to exploit them. Also I'm positive that no one else is beating that game for anything close to my winrate. Most of them are probably slight losers, with some slight winners. The true donators usually aren't locals. There's also an excellent LHE player who plays $2/5 on weekdays, but his no-limit game is a little too loose and splashy.

Occasionally we have a $5/5 $1K max but it doesn't happen often.
This is at the TS? they serve booze there?

I had a story but I just realized it's from Niagara.
once in vegas I played with a LAG accountant JYE of 2007-2008 and he went off on how awesome the nl is [was] on the American side. something like 2/5, 5/5, and 5/10 all at once.

The key factor is to stop focusing on which elements of the games make win-rates less than other people's and focus more on how to improve.

I thought turning stone was a larger casino

In my mind everyone is a donator, regs included. Nobody is solid its live poker. One of the smaller casino's I play at, I have reads on all the players. Sometimes its reg infested. Not a problem, why because they suck.

I like how ike says he has winrates for different city's. I think I should start doing it for each casino I regularly play at. Very interesting stats ike.

Hammond must be the toughest in the land if he prefers las vegas. The best 2/5 game I ever saw in LV [WSOP Rio excluded] would have qualified back east as a meh Saturday afternoon.

Not to turn this into a debate thread, but I've played Midwest, East, and LV, and I always thought the games out East were the easiest, then Vegas, then the Midwest.

The thing about Vegas, to me, is that there's usually a few really good regs plus so many more drunk fish on the weekends than I see at home since our casinos don't serve booze for free and people have to drive there.

Never played in Cali so no comments there.

Phil Laak will go down in history. All in preflop AK vs A6 for 60k flop 10 2 5 6 J and phil laak with the A6 mucks his hand. He didn't want to turn the cards over. I can't wait to see his face when he finds out he mucked the winning hand. He has been playing for 34 hours straight. Hahahahahahahahahahhaa I can't believe what I just saw.

It is but the $2/5 pool isn't that big.

I like Phil Laak desciption of him, "A nit with moves". I think this can describe my game pretty well too, I have an tight image but I pick my spots to make very agressive moves.
04-12-2012 , 08:31 PM
Lmao, Phil just found out he mucked the winning hand. Tony G had 6k bet on the hand. But phil forgot to check his hand. Tony G is going crazy saying he wants to get paid, lol. He says "I bet on the hand, not his ability to play the hand" hahhahahahahahahahahahahaha phil is an idiot.

So I guess this is how the job search is going.

used to be larger, but a lot of people started going other places b/c TS is so poorly run.

I don't have any basis for comparison, but the game I was in consisted of:

Me
Mason
2 regs who also play 5/10 at bellagio; they both play kind of laggy, but aren't fearsome or anything
A short stacking reg who played super tight in raised pots but would limp along in limped pots with a huge range.
4 Israeli friends in town for a poker vacation who bought in 40-60bb each.

As the Israeli guys busted and left, they got replaced by a succession of recreational players, only one of whom was pretty clueless, but none of whom really had a chance at the game.

It was the softest field I've seen while taking my 2/5 shot.

That doesn't seem like a bad line up to me; coming from the online world, any table with 4 recreational players at it seems like a good table to me.

LOL, Pokah deserves his own reality TV show. I'll watch it.

I tried going back to the casino. My 24-hour ban technically hadn't expired, but it's been 21 hours already so I figured they wouldn't be nits about it.

I was wrong. I was escorted out again lmao. Ordered some food before leaving though.

Lmao, what a degen!
04-12-2012 , 09:59 PM
he's only a degen if he goes back in 3 hours imo.
04-12-2012 , 10:01 PM
I'll be disappointed if he doesn't
