Had a crap ton of all ins after that for moster pots. Was sick. Lol. Oh well- Roulette is a life saver. May go get it one more time....
Why in gods name would you ever want to follow a common theme?
Here's the thing. There are so many worse hands calling you on the turn that not betting it for value is a gigantic mistake. Don't worry about the flush card, if he has us beat he's going to let us know. Betting turn makes the hand pretty easy to play and it makes our hand range much harder to read. When you check it's pretty easy for him realize exactly what happened, you had a made hand and you didn't like that flush card. Then he can make our lives difficult.
Betting the turn makes the hand easy. I mean you're calling anyways if he bets turn right? 100% bet. Get value from those worse hands, make your hand harder to read, make the hand easier to play.
I'm assuming you checked because you figured he probably has the flush and you didn't want to bet and get shoved on and have to fold, so you'd rather check call and try to boat up. This is the wrong mentality for poker.
Next time you think that, ask " whats going to make me more money over the long run, betting here and getting value from a lot of weaker hands and making my hand easier to play but occasionally having to bet fold, or playing super weak poker check calling trying to boat up and hopefully stack when he has a flush. "
Anyways GL and it seems like you're having a blast. Sorry if I sound condescending it's not my intention at all. I've gotten some good advice from this subforum and I'm just trying to reciprocate.
