Yeah, that seems like a lot. But I should probably count how much beef and eggs I've consumed over the same period.

Worked up to a heavy single on squat, bench, and DL today. Hit a 70lb total PR at a sub 200 BW, which is ~35lbs less than the last time I tested.

Weigh in tomorrow and I'm anticipating some reasonable results. 195 or less will be wonderful.

Not sure- had approx 46 meals over the two weeks . A few days with and extra meal of chicken and veggies post workout.

I think I ate chicken breast in 40+ of them

Just lack of planning. Today actually went grocery shopping with the girlfriend instead of just asking her to pick up chicken breast

Weight: 196.1

Will update with scale pics in the morning.

Saturday's max test put a fair amount of strain so I've taken the last 3 days off, which means I pushed the start of the program back one week. This week will be strictly swimming, cycling, and running.

Workout:
12m cycle
2m run

Weight: 194.4

Really enjoying beyond 5/3/1 as it has an enough volume where I feel I'm doing good work and also heavy enough where I feel I'm making progress.

Set rep PRs I'm every lift but OHP this week, which was only bc I wasn't testing it, I will on Monday though.

This week has been pretty good, though due to some work issues my eating schedule got messed up and had one of my worst fasting mornings. Working late lead to it being too late by the time I could eat, paired with the following morning's workout and I had some serious hunger issues with a slight headache.

Monday:
Squat wu, 1×3@70%, 1×3@80%, 1×10@90%
Bench 6×5@75%
Medium grip lat pulldown 5×10
Tricep rope push down 5×20

Wed:
Deadlift wu, 1×3@70%, 1×3@80%, 1×10@90%
OHP wu, 6×5@75%
Barbell curl 5×10
Face pulls 5×20

Friday:
Bench wu, 1×3@70%, 1×3@80%, 1×8@90%
Squat 6×5@75%
Medium grip lat pulldown 5×10
Tricep rope push down 5×20

Today:
12m cycle (intermittent hills)
2m run (intermittent sprints)

Similar brick workout planned for tomorrow. Based on my current 5k time I should be able to drop 6+minutes off last year's run time.

My cycle time is proving difficult to drop nearly as much, but I've been focusing on more hills because the bike course has a few good ones that surprised me last year due to the "flat course" rating.

I've only done one swim workout last week and I was happy with my general endurance level. I'm getting better at settling into a freestyle distance rhythm with longer, more controlled strokes, which has taken me time to get used to.

Power numbers are pretty straightforward to max out quickly. Can you find a competitive group ride to embarrass and/or set some new goals?

Even though a 12 meter ride probably won't have much room for improvement. :/

Local bike shop has a Saturday morning ride I may start joining.

Today's cycle was 12.1 miles in 34:36. Which is 00:03:42 faster than last year.

Today's run was 2.1 miles in 00:19:21, which is 00:04:07 faster than last year.

So I'm already on pace to drop some minutes off of my time. I'm also ~30lbs lighter than I was then so numbers are probably not that great in comparison.

That's a 21 mph pace. That's pretty fast. Outdoors or on a trainer?

Nah, it was like a $100+ difference between the Cyclops fluid^2 trainer which was what I bought, versus the Magnus which had it as a feature.

So the wife convinced me to sign up for my gyms 60 day challenge weight loss category, $60 entry, 5k up top

Officially weighed in yesterday at 261.3.

Day 1: did 25 minutes of steady state cardio, weighed in at 251.9.

Im not going to weigh myself daily, but I may or may not have drank about a gallon of water beforehand, so I wanted a more accurate assessment for later

Wish my gym did promos like this when I was easily dropping poundage. Now I have to really try to drop weight past 196.

Day 1: 261.3
Day 14: 246.6

46 days remaining

It took a few days for my body to start really getting into this, so the weight loss was slow at first. The last 4 or 5 days have been better, pushing out like a pound/day.

I've done 3 sessions with a personal trainer and I have 8 left. Only had to possibly throw up once, but I didn't, so that's a plus.

Back (15 year history of disc problems) and foot (broken sesamoid bone earlier in the year) have been holding up so far.
